As soon as he mentioned having a lesson just before lunch, she was already assessing her own schedule in her mind. There were several things she had planned to do this morning, but none of them were so pressing that she would pass up an opportunity to have some time alone here with Kerridon. She could always move that research back to later. And she was still ahead in her assigned school work for the year, so there was no need to fret about anything on that account.
[blue]"As a matter of fact, I do have somewhere to be at this very moment,"[/blue] she replied as she stepped in closer to him. [blue]"Actually, I have several things that I had planned for this morning,"[/blue] she added, shaking her head apologetically as she took another half-step closer to him. [blue]"Fortunately, however, it seems that they have all suddenly been rescheduled. And the place I have to be at this very moment is none other than the room in which we now stand. If I am not mistaken, our class schedules are quite similar, so I should be free until it is time to sneak away to class."[/blue]
She wouldn't deny herself these couple of hours. It was good to have a reminder that there were things in this realm for fighting for and living for. The next time she melded to Shadow Form, this memory might very well be the one that she used to convince herself to return to her human form, rather than tumble into the abyss of darkness that always seemed to enticing when it yawned wide before her. This and a hundred other rational reasons for staying rushed into her head without any conscious effort. She might have thought even her leisure time was put to practical application if it hadn't been for the fact that Kerridon was standing before her and she knew their time together was short.
In an instant, she had bridged the small gap between them and wrapped her arms around him, pressing her lips to his in an intense gesture that contained as much passion as it did relief. She hadn't fully realized how difficult it would be to maintain this degree of separation. It was stressing, and she could feel the release of that stress now as she finally let that barrier drop from her mind for the moment and simply allowed herself to enjoy happiness and connection.

Kerridon turned his gaze downwards when D'rorah mentioned having somewhere to be and things to do in an effort to hide any disappointment that might flicker across his face despite his efforts to keep his normally neutral expression in place. He had found last time, as well as earlier this morning, that it was a little more difficult than usual to keep his guard up around her – expressions seemed to form without him even realising they had done so until too late. He wasn't entirely sure why but he suspected it was due to the fact that he actually trusted her and felt more relaxed around her.
His eyes rose as she began with 'fortunately' and took a small step closer to him, wondering what was fortunate about her having to leave. She continued speaking in an explanation though and a tiny smile made its way onto Kerridon's face with her words. He had hoped they would be able to spend some time together now in this place where no one except her Elemental Master would come in – and hopefully he would have the tact to steer clear. Now he did not have to worry about anyone else hearing his thoughts, the barriers that surrounded his feelings for D'rorah had lessened a little, allowing him to realise that he had in fact missed her, despite the short time since they had departed last. It was an odd feeling really, and he couldn't recall ever really feeling it before – Taisy had never gone away anywhere for long enough to miss her.
His lips met hers fiercely, kissing back strongly as one arm wound its way around her waist and the other moved upwards to her neck with the thoughts of keeping her close if she did decide to move away for whatever reason. He savoured the release, barriers fully coming down now and allowing him to feel just how much he had missed her.

D'rorah had watched Kerridon's expression as she spoke, seeing his disappointment as she mentioned she had plans for the morning. Of course, the expression was subtle, as was always the case with Kerridon. He was accustomed to keeping his emotions tightly locked away, just as she was. But here there was no reason for pretense or walls. They were the only ones in the room. She saw the smile flicker across his face as she realized she would be staying and smiled in return. It was an incredible feeling to have someone so close, so happy once again to see her, spend time with her. She had always shunned any notion of needing others growing up. She'd had her family, and that had been enough for her.
As Kerridon met her kiss, she could feel their mutual mental barriers coming down. Goosebumps fanned out over her neck as his fingertips landed on the flesh there and she felt herself sigh internally. It was amazing to think just how quickly she'd come to feel at home here, and to realize how profoundly she'd missed him in the time they'd been apart from each other. Breaking from his lips, she left a trail of kisses to his ear, before whispering quietly into it. [blue]"Two weeks from now, the first weekend in May, let us go to New York. I know we will have to leave and the time apart will pass more quickly if I can at least have something to look to in anticipation."[/blue]
Hopefully they would see each other before then, but if not, at least she would have this meeting to count on to carry her through the more difficult times of the next few weeks. She pulled back slightly and turned her face up to his, waiting for an answer expectantly.

The smile on D'rorah's face made his own widen a little and look less locked away as his few facial expressions normally did. It was simply habit to hide what he was feeling – his father had beaten it into him many a time that showing emotion was not something he would accept. So even though he knew that in this room with D'rorah he did not have to hide what he felt, vestiges of years of being taught that remained, causing any emotion he did display to be subtle just as D'rorah had observed.
He let out a contented sigh as he felt the goosebumps rise on her neck and her lips moved to his ear, eyes still closed as she spoke. He nodded at her words, kissing the side of her neck softly before replying. [blue]"Yes, that will be nice,"[/blue] he agreed. The thought of having to leave reared its ugly head again and he ignored it, instead focussing on D'rorah and the fact that she was there with him now.
[blue]"How do you plan to get there? I cannot apparate to an apartment in New York with no knowledge of its location... who knows where I would end up,"[/blue] he smirked, wondering just how many apartments there were in New York that he might apparate to by accident. He always found it useful to visit the place before apparating there, because it gave him an exact location. It would certainly be good to know that that was organised even when he couldn't see her or even barely think of her.

D'rorah smiled as Kerridon agreed that they would meet again in New York. It would be easy enough, hopefully, for her to find a reason to leave. As the only living member of her family, she had legal and financial obligations to attend to ever since she had come of age. It would be wise to visit each of the properties more often to ensure they were adequately maintained. New York came to mind first because it was the place she had typically counted as home. Certainly, she had traveled often with her parents as a result of her father's position with the International Ministry. They had both felt D'rorah would benefit from exposure to other cultures and ways of thinking. And she had. She had been able to not only practice the living languages she was learning throughout her youth, but also to see the people firsthand and to understand the subtle differences in accents... even things like mythology and metaphor, all influenced the development of a people and a language.
The home in New York was where D'rorah's mother had taught her to play piano... had taught her to sing. She had insisted that music be a part of D'rorah's education as much as languages, magic, and her myriad other subjects. As a result, her days had indeed been hectic and demanding... but she liked to think that her life was full because of it. And even now that her parents were gone, she had those gifts left to remember them by.
She laughed quietly as Kerridon asked how they would get to New York for the visit. Ideally, they would meet up together. But their need for secrecy precluded that possibility. They needed to be able to travel separately. She would be able to apparate from the train station in Hogsmeade. [blue]"The address is 330 East 38th St, Floor 57,"[/blue] she replied, thinking for a moment of the best way for both of them to get there. [blue]"The floo is too easily monitored or followed..."[/blue] she thought aloud, searching her mind for possible ways to arrive at the home. And it wasn't as though he could simply walk up to her cottage in Hogsmeade and floo from there. Hogsmeade was much to close to Hogwarts and potential spies. [blue]"If you apparate or floo to Orizont Alley from your home, I could meet you there and we could apparate back to the apartment together... that would minimize the opportunity for anyone to see us together."[/blue]

((Assuming she won't pull away when he pulls her back to the tree, let me know if she wouldn't go with him and I'll edit))
Kerridon stored the address she gave away in his head so that he could recall it at a later date without effort, but that would still be safe behind a barrier from anyone who happened to try and break in to find it. Already his mind was working to come up with an excuse to leave the castle – his only worry was that it might appear suspicious, them both leaving the castle on the same weekend. Perhaps he would have to leave on a different day to avoid rousing suspicion, check on his own properties before heading to New York.
[blue]"Very well,"[/blue] he agreed. He had not been to Orizont Alley in the past either, but it was so well known that apparating to the place would not be an issue. But also, it seemed like a place where there was less likelihood of them being discovered or seen together for the short time they were out in the open. [blue]"I may leave the day before and head to Paradox Hall or Taylor Manor to avoid suspicion that may rise from us both leaving and returning on the same date,"[/blue] he said, voicing his earlier thoughts.
Lowering his arms from around her, he caught one of her hands in his and led her back to the tree they had been leaning on earlier, sitting down next to it and leaning his head up to survey D'rorah. The light in the room was bright enough to allow him to see clearly without having to squint because of it being too bright, and he smiled up at her, enjoying simply being able to be with her and act himself rather than have everything hidden behind barriers.

D'rorah nodded as Kerridon stated that he would leave the day before in order to avoid arousing suspicion. She realized then that meetings of this sort would have to be rare... otherwise, people were bound to notice quickly that the two Ravenclaws had a habit of disappearing at the same time. [blue]"That is wise,"[/blue] she replied. They would have to deal with time and distance as it came. Worrying about when they would next be together wasn't an option... at least, not outside of these walls or outside of their own homes.
A moment later, she felt him withdraw his arms only to take up her hand. She followed willingly to the tree, and looked down at him for a moment as he gazed up at her. His smile inspired a matching one on her face, and a moment later, she was lowering herself to the ground as well. She kneeled in front of him before shifting around so she was beside him, tucking her legs to the side and leaning against his shoulder for support. Taking his hand in her own, she lightly traced her fingertips across his knuckles and laid a kiss on his cheek. [blue]"Hello,"[/blue] she said quietly, turning her face so that her eyes might catch his before smiling serenely. She would have been content to simply sit here and enjoy letting her guard down a bit while they were together, her fingers tracing softly over the back of his hand continuously. However, she couldn't resist the urge to twist herself slightly and lean in for a lingering, soft kiss.
She lost track of time for a bit, finally coming to when she realized it would soon be time for their classes to begin. [blue]"You will have to go first,"[/blue] she remarked quietly. [blue]"Otherwise I would have to stay behind to open the door. Two weeks feels like such a long time..."[/blue] She rose from her seated position fluidly, reluctantly giving up the comfort of resting against his chest as they simply shared a few hours together. It was so peaceful, so simple... she wondered how many couples took for granted the freedom to be able to see one another... the freedom to be able to miss one another without worry that someone might look into their thoughts. One day, that freedom would be theirs as well, she was certain. For now she would take these few stolen moments whenever they came her way and would make do with them. She led the way to the door, turning to kiss him one last time, her arms wrapping around him and eyes refusing to close and miss these last few moments together. Finally forcing herself to pull back, she gazed into his eyes. [blue]"Be safe."[/blue] With those two words, she was already pulling thoughts and memories behind well-constructed mental barriers, perparing to face the world at large.
When at last she emerged from the Elemental Room of Wind, there was no trace of emotion on her face. In her mind, there was no trace of longing to see Kerridon again or memory of any of their time together. All of that was safely tucked away, waiting for their next meeting in a safe harbor. And so, looking just as grim as everyone was accustomed to, D'rorah began to carefully make her way to her next class, heavy satchel a fixture on her shoulder.
