Giving a small nod at Dylan's apology, he left them to it and returned his primary attention back to the class at large. He saw the next movement come from Dylan once more and observed as he moved across the room, away from the other two fifth years, and made the first move toward casting his Patronus. The dark grey shadow that emerged from his wand tip was a good start for only a fifth year, even if he was in Ravenclaw, and he was pleased to see him ready to try again without prompting.
Turning his attention back toward D'rorah, who had just asked to excuse herself, he nodded in the affirmative and she departed the classroom. "Of course, Miss Philosophy," he replied as she exited via the doorway. The next person his eyes flicked to was Alessandro, who incanted the Patronus and produced a silvery, corporeal form from his wand. Undoubtedly impressed that a fifth year accomplished it on the first go, and so well too, he was sure that the boy had to have prior training with the particularly difficult spell. Alex watched with joy as what appeared to be a phoenix emerged, before it disappeared hastily and the Ravenclaw boy's wand clattered to the floor. His brow furrowing in slight confusion, he wondered if he had just lost his grip, and thought the boy looked slightly confused himself. As he knelt to pick up the lost wand, his eyes continued to scan the room, searching for new activity.
His attention was caught by the latest entrant into the room, a rather serious looking woman hastening towards him. Being addressed rather formally and slightly taken aback by her apparent rigidity, he nevertheless smiled politely and shook the hand extended before him. "Ah yes, Caira did mention you would be coming," he replied jovially, excluding the thought that he had assumed she would have arrived at the beginning of the class, not halfway through. Time enough for small talk later he supposed. "Welcome, welcome. Oh yes, she just needed to be excused for a moment," he added as she mentioned the fact that a girl was standing outside, someone he assumed to be D'rorah. Slightly concerned at the statement that she "looks dreadful," he did not show it, and offered the Ministry official his own chair. "Please, feel free to have a seat," he said, gesturing politely before turning back to the class.
