Astrid watched with an uninterested glance as the other students filed into the room, some tardy, another approaching the front of the room. She felt eyes on her... was someone looking her way? Risking a glance around the room, she spotted a rather charming man, a Ravenclaw like herself, staring at her wand briefly, then turning back to the brunette who had her back to Astrid. What could he have been looking for in her wand? Maybe it seemed familiar to him... perhaps he was the one Dylan had spoken of when he mentioned giving her wand's twin to another recently. Chewing that over, she almost was startled by the Professor when she began to speak.
Partners? O great. Taking another count of the people in the room, she knew absolutely no one. The only two she had seen before was the boy sitting beside the brunette, and the pretty Asian girl that had come in. Her name was Mami, she remembered from overhearing a bit of conversation in the commonroom; his name was a mystery. Sighing quietly, she continued to run her thumb across the polished wood of the wand in her lap, eyes returning to the professor to await instruction.

After she had finished addressing the class, she took note that there was only about three minuets before the class would begin. The perfect amount of time. Nodding to her inner thoughts, she was about to take note of the attendance, and assign the potions when she heard another student enter. Smiling at the first year student she gently removed the piece of parchment from his hands.
"Thank you Mister Bryce, you may have a seat." she spoke softly to the boy as she opened up the folded piece of paper. Quickly reading over the contents, a small frown creased, her features. The poor boy. Dragon flu was not a nice thing to go through. However she nodded, as she continued reading. Yes, she would be able to make that with in a few days. She would however, have to make a trip to Hogesmede and retrieve the proper ingredients. And of course she would need to make a trip to the Herbology gardens for some fresher items. But it could still be stocked up in a short matter of time.
As a few more students entered Evelyn returned to her papers once more. Pulling the one for Jason Cruz, she approached the boy shortly after he walked in. Yes, late again, but at least the boy showed some promise with her class. Enthusiasm, and either a lot of luck, or a good hand at potions had led him to receive good marks so far. Handing the paper to him, she neither wore a smile, nor a frown.
"Imagine for a moment that you showed up to class on time. And tell me what this grade could be? Hmmmm. Perhaps next time, you will be here at the appropriate time, and maybe your grade will be even better?"
After handing the paper to Jason, Evelyn turned back to her desk, and straightened her robes. Even though the robes did not look like they needed to be straightened, Evelyn still took a moment to brush them down. Evelyn looked from her students to the clock that rested on the wall behind the desks of the students. It was just about time. Having felt like she had waited long enough to get the class started, she began checking names off of a list she had in front of her. There seemed to still be several gryffindors, and ravenclaws missing. But alas, she could not wait all day now could she? Nine students had showed up thus far. A number she had hoped would have actually been closer to 15, but then again, when had her numbers ever been that high?
As she stood in front of the class, she cleared her throat softly, and began addressing the class.
"Alright students. In these 10 vials before me, are 10 potions, all of which have antidotes to counteract them. Now today we will be familiarizing ourselves with the process of identifying an unknown liquid. Some of these potions are quite harmful, so you must identify them with out consuming them. You are free to use you potions book for any reference you might need. You should all start by taking note of the potions physical properties, like color thickness, and smell. And please do not sniff straight from the bottle, waft the potions scent to you, with some potions the smell can have very adverse effects on you, so please be careful.
After determining the physical features of the potion your next step is to attempt to determine what magical properties it has. I have a few spiders that you may, under my supervision, administer your potion to, and note the results. As I have the antidotes, no real harm will occur to the spiders. You may also boil a small sample to see how that may change the potion. Now each potion has distinctively different properties, so no one will be able to copy any one else's work. So feel free to ask each other questions on what to try next, as you may find something that doesn't work for you works for the person three chairs down.
If at any point in time you find you are completely stuck, please do not hesitate to ask me questions. Now I will be handing out harder potions to the more advanced students so, if you can not figure it out, do not be too disheartened. This is after all all, more of a practice class for when you are working with real poisons. And PLEASE remember your safety gear. Goggles, gloves, and aprons."
Starting with Tommy, Evelyn began handing out the potions. Each student received their own own vial. Each vial containing a different liquid. Three of the nine vials were not actually potions, but instead ingredients that in their current state would produce adverse effects that she held an antidote for. If the class went well several of the students would know what they held before they even tested it on the spiders. Although, some of them might need some extra help determining what it was, she felt pretty confident.
"Alright students you may begin."

Alessandro picked up his vial and rolled it between his fingers. It had been labeled with the letter "E", whatever that meant. As he rolled the potion through his fingers, noting the color and consistency, the professor stressed on using protective gear. He set down his vial instantly and stood up to go and get an apron, gloves, and goggles from the supply cabinet. After he had fastened the ties, and secured his goggle in place, he returned to his seat and picked up the potion again, this time in full protective equipment. It was a clear liquid, and it looked rather fluid, and not gloppy or coagulated. If he didn't know any better he would say that the fluid that was contained in the vial was water. Jotting down the observations, he then opened his potions book and began to flip through it mindlessly. What exactly was he to be looking for? She said they would be testing their potions on spiders. Alessandro cringed slightly at the thought of involving an arachnid. He disliked them very much. Perhaps his potion would make it explode, for he had a habit of botching even the simplest potions unless he was focusing full-force. He let out a sigh and looked back to his notes as he had noticed his hand had continued writing. His brows dropped and he tilted his head as he read what he had written. Nessum maggior dolore, che ricordarsi del tempo felice nella miseria. His eyes traveled over the Latin sentence he had attached to his observations of the clear potion. Translated, the Latin phrase meant that there's no greater sorrow than to recall in misery the times we were happy. He frowned slightly. Was his subconscious trying to tell him something? He set down his quill and began to comb through his potions book, looking for any descriptions for clear, water-like potions.

Tommy let out a subconscious sigh of relief when Professor Sparrow relieved him of the parchment but continued to eye her cautiously despite her smile.
"Thank you Mister Bryce, you may have a seat."
Seeing the smile turn into a frown as she began to read the letter from the nurse, he took a hurried step back, tripping slightly as he turned and headed back to his seat besides Cavan. He really didn’t like being around people who were wearing frowns. From all the previous experience he had of frowning expressions, it had never boded well for himself.
“Hi Cavan,” he smiled lightly, slipping back into his seat as he kept a cautious eye on the professor. She seemed nice enough, but... well, you could never be certain. It wasn’t long before she was brushing her robes down and addressing the class as a whole, explaining what they would be doing in this class. He’d never attempted to make potions before – the closest he’d gotten was buying the occasional restorative draught for his younger brothers if they were ill.
He quickly scribbled down the instructions Professor Sparrow was issuing, not wanting to get anything wrong. Phisical – colour, thickness, smell (waft sent towards you). Magical properties – spiders, boil. safety – goggles, gloves, aprons. His eyes darted up, startled, when a vial of shimmering potion was placed before him only a few seconds after she had finished speaking. Putting his quill and parchment to the side, he quickly put on the safety gear specified and looked over to where Professor Sparrow had ended up, noticing she was speaking again.
"Alright students you may begin."
Keen to get started, he glanced at his notes and quickly made a rough table on the parchment to take notes in. It was easy enough to work out the physical properties and he quickly jotted them down, before doing as instructed and wafting the potion’s scent towards him. In his eagerness he brought it a bit close and choked for a second as the strong smells overwhelmed his nose momentarily. To him, it smelt of old books – just like the one he had found in the library about astronomy – and fresh baking, and polished wood, and the scent of something burning, like gravel or rocks of some description. He’d never smelt such an odd concoction before, but it was very pleasant.
Gathering up a small sample of the potion, he got out his wand and began to slowly boil it. The steam already rising off it became more pronounced, spiralling as it rose to meet the ceiling and gradually dispersed. Other than that there was little change, although it did seem to become more shiny - he could almost see a reflection of himself in the surface - and the distinctive smell grew stronger.
Looking around, he wasn't sure what else he could do with his potion without asking for a spider to test it out on. But so far, no one else had asked for a spider and he didn't want to draw attention to himself by being the first. He glanced over at Cavan to see how far the other student was, trying to think of something else he could do before asking for the creature to test it on.
Retrieving the textbook from where he had placed it, he flicked through, looking for any potions that said anything about strange smells.

Jason flushed slightly and lowered his gaze at the extremely mild reprimand he received, nodding his head and muttering timidly.
"Yes Ma'am."
It was only moments later that Professor Sparrow began the lesson. Jason was quite intrigued with this class session. He rather excelled when left on his own to work and looked forward to the intellectually stimulating investigatory process. After receiving his vial, he took a few seconds to look over it, noting the appearance of the potion as well at the letter attached to the vial.
F . . . that can't be a good sign. Wasn't that a failing grade back in muggle school?
Rising from his seat, Jason took a step toward the supply cabinet to retrieve a set of safety gear but then dropped his gaze and halted. Alessandro was getting supplies. Jason was determined to avoid any awkwardness that might arise from a conversation with the older boy. His curiosity would likely get the better of him and he didn't think Alessandro wanted to speak with him. There had been no hint of recognition in the Ravenclaw's eyes, though maybe he simply hadn't noticed Jason.
Why would he? No one else ever does.
Pushing away the negative thoughts, Jason waited for Alessandro to move away from the cabinet and then went and retrieved a set for himself. Strapping everything in place as he returned to his seat, he again lifted the vial and examined the liquid inside, turning it over to see how viscous the liquid was. It was an ugly ocher color and rather thick, almost more a paste than a liquid. It reminded Jason of mustard. Popping off the lid, Jason waited a moment before wafting the scent toward him. He promptly gagged and recorked the vial. Whatever that smell resembled, it wasn't anything pleasant.
Deciding he'd try boiling it later, Jason scribbled down all that he had observed so far in his messy script and looked around at the other students before turning to face Professor Sparrow. He really didn't want to be the first to speak, but he really didn't want to boil the potion and have to smell it again either. Raising his hand, Jason spoke quietly, but hopefully loud enough to be heard.
"Professor Sparrow? May I please have a spider ma'am?"

Caity continued to stare at her hands as more students entered the classroom, not looking around to see if anyone else was trying to catch her attention as Alessandro had done. She really wasn’t in the mood to have more people asking her if she was okay. She blatantly wasn’t okay, so why bother asking?
Frowning miserably, she raised her head slightly to listen to the general gist of Professor Sparrow’s instructions. Something to do with identifying a potion handed to them... sniff straight from the bottle, don’t waft the scent towards you... feed the potions to the spiders... remember goggles and aprons...
Slumped back in her seat, she waited for Professor Sparrow to hand out her potion. It was in a small bottle, and the colour appeared to be changing frequently, from a murky brown to a very bright violet, then a pale blue... she couldn’t see any pattern in the colours it was changing between. Letting out a small sigh, she reached out to take the bottle before pausing suddenly. What had the professor said? Goggles and aprons? Was that it? Putting those articles of safety gear on, she reached out again for the bottle. And drew her hand back again quickly, swearing softly as she examined her burnt fingers. It wasn’t too bad, she thought to herself, wincing as the pain prickled at her skin. Glancing around she saw that other students had put gloves on, and realised she must have missed that part of the instructions. She slipped her gloves on, trying not to show the pain on her face as the material brushed against the scalded skin, and reached out to take the potion once more.
Taking the top off, she did as she thought the professor had told the class and sniffed the potion, bringing it a little too close to her nose. She coughed as she breathed in the vapours, suddenly finding the room spinning. She hurriedly replaced the concoction where she thought it had been before, placing both hands on the desk to steady herself, although her vision seemed to have no intention of recovering any time soon. Feeling quite light-headed and confused all of a sudden, she blinked repeatedly to try and hurry it along. Something knocked against her fingers and she managed to catch the potion before it could roll onto the floor.
Hoping no one had noticed her minor crises, she waited, attempting patience, until she could actually see the vague shapes and colours of the things and people around her. Now what was she supposed to be doing? she asked herself, unsure of what was next. Feed the antidote to the spiders? But she didn’t have the antidote. Was she supposed to make it? But she didn’t even know what the potion was. Was that it? Work out the type of potion and make an antidote to feed to the spiders? It didn’t seem quite right... Wait... No... The spiders wouldn’t need the antidote. Unless the potion had already been given to them. But then why would... Did they need to find the spider that had been fed the potion they were holding? But how could they do that? They didn’t know the potion they had. Ah yes, that was it. Work out the type of potion. But... wouldn’t it be a bit hard to work out what effect the potion had on a spider that had probably been fed the potion quite a while? Would the effect have worn off? Then why did they need to make the antidote? It made no sense.
Thoroughly confused, the concoction’s fumes having taken effect on Caitlin, she squeezed her eyes shut and sat down heavily, trying to work out exactly what it was she was supposed to be doing. Not having listened attentively to Professor Sparrow’s instructions beforehand made it even more difficult now. She didn’t want to ask anyone else. Zee was next to her... she couldn’t trust him. She wasn’t supposed to trust him. Why? What had he done? He’d hurt someone... but who? Who was it... Dylan! But where was Dylan now? Shouldn’t he be in the classroom? He had been last lesson. Had Zee hurt Dylan? Again? There were other people missing too, she realised, actually paying attention to who was in the classroom now as she looked around, still wearing that confused expression. D’rorah... but of course, she was missing completely. The letter from Master Xiu had told her that they couldn’t get hold of Mallan’s other Shadow Warrior. Mallan... he was missing too. Except she knew that he wasn’t coming back. That made even less sense than everything else. He’d... killed himself. Why had he done that? Why would anyone do that? She didn’t understand; couldn’t understand.
Rubbing a hand over her face as the effect of the vapours began to fade, she let out another sigh, feeling quite hopeless. She couldn’t do this. She didn’t even know what she needed to do. Hadn’t done the homework... burnt herself... not listened properly to the instructions... couldn’t stop thinking about...him... Finally reopening her eyes, Caitlin looked to see what the other students were doing. Boiling their own potion samples. Slowly setting up her own potion in imitation of what they were doing, she began heating all of her potion, trying to keep her attention from wandering further.

Waiting for the class to begin Keaira felt more uncomfortable than she could ever recall. With Alessandro sitting next to her and Zane in her mind it was like a war waging. For some reason Zane just would not accept that she cared for Alessandro, and seemed bent on making her upset about it. Distracted by the feelings that she was receiving from Zane Keaira barley registered that she had received a paper back from the professor. The comments had been well deserved, but Keaira did not give any notice that she had heard them. Slipping the graded form off her desk and into her book bag, she jumped slightly as she felt the rough edge of the paper, brush across her left arm, a thin red line of blood, was left across her wrist. As Professor Sparrow continued to tell every that they would be working with poisons and that they should be certain to wear safety gear, Keaira tried to focus. However, Zane's mental message made doing such a thing difficult.
How could he say such things so harshly? Well, not say but how could he think them. Alessandro cared for her, he just needed help remembering. They had made a lot of progress during the time they had together too. Zane just wouldn't understand. If she had been alone at the time, Keaira knew that she would have shed a tear from the harsh was Zane had addressed her. But here in this class, she would not cry. She had spent too much time having her emotions run wild when in this room, today she would not allow it.
"If thats the way you want to be about this then fine. Be like that. When you are done acting like a child then you can come talk to me."
Just being in this room was hard enough for Keaira some times. She didn't need this kind of nonsense bothering her during her class as well. Forcing up the strongest mental walls she could at that time, Keaira was hell bent on keep Zane out of her head for the rest of the class. Although she cared for the boy, sometimes he had those moments that she wanted to simply hit him. Throwing him out of her mind allowed Keaira to focus on what the professor was saying about the class. Testing an unidentified potion to see what it was. A task that would require her attention at its peak.
Looking at the vial labeled 'H' Keaira observed its color, and its' thickness before moving to retrieve safety equipment. The potion was a deep forest green, and seemed to be very thick and almost chunky. With her goggles, apron, and gloves donned, Keaira uncorked the vial. The potion was way thicker than most of the potions that came to mind as she looked at it. Wafting the scent of the potion toward her, Keaira was reminded of the spring season, trees and plants. Greenery just coming out and freshly cut grass. However, that wasn't the only thing she thought of when she smelt the liquid. There was something else. Something she couldn't really categorize. Setting the vial back on the desk a bit roughly a touch of it splashed out of the vial, and landed on her sleeve. With her gloved hands she simply brushed the liquid splatter off her left cuff.
Allowing her quill to note the observations that had already been made she left the potion opened and on the desk. Its scent traveled up and filled her nose as she wrote. Why was Zane being so difficult? Didn't he realize that she was dealing with a lot of things? it was hard being a shadow warrior, even harder being a girl... And there was all the mixed feelings with the two boys in her life. Why was Zane so stupid sometimes? The boy makes rash decisions, and allows himself to get wrapped up in the moment. She couldn't help but allow her anger at the boy to show in her writing. Her letter were practically engraved in the paper with the way she was pressing down on her quill. Each 'I' she dotted pierced the page, the letters quickly and harshly jotted on the page.
And then there was Alessandro, she tried to help him and what did she get? Almost nothing. She poured herself into him, and barely got a decent hello. What was it with boys? As she finished writing her observations on the page she drew an underline beneath the each title, 'color', 'scent' 'liquidity', and finally 'spider test'. As she finished the last line, her grip tightened on the quill, squeezing it so hard that the quill snapped in half. A look of rage and frustration came across her face, as she slammed the quill down on her desk. Practically tearing her book bag open she pulled out another quill and slammed it on her desk as well.
As if things couldn't get worse with her relationship troubles, she had to deal with substandard materials. Was there anything in this world that wouldn't go wrong for her? Keaira's teeth clenched angrily together as she pulled her potions book forward and started roughly flipping through the pages of her potions book. At least books never lied to her, or tried to turn her against her friends.

After he scribbled a couple more notes down about his colorless, fluous, potion, he closed his potions book and uncorked the vial. Being sure to heed Professor Sparrow's words, he fanned his gloved hand across the top of the vial, wafting the aroma of the potion over to him, if there even was one. It did, in fact, have a minor acrid aroma, smelling of burnt feathers. He made a face and jotted down smells like burnt feathers on his parchment. Alessandro scrunched up his brow as the aroma began to fill his nostrils even more.
Oh that is a rather dreadful smell.... He thought as he closed his eyes and scrunched up his nose, quickly stoppering the potion. When he opened his eyes, he tilted his head in confusion.
"What was I doing again?" The words were not vocalized but were mouthed, with an ever-so soft whisper present as the consonants were enunciated. Alessandro darted his eyes to his desk as he read the parchment before him. His expression shifted back to a face of recognition as he quickly remembered that he was analyzing an unidentified potion. Mouthing "Oh!" he nodded with a peculiar smile to himself as if he were thinking "duh!"
The next test he had in order was the spider test. He dreaded this part the most, because he did not particularly care for spiders, as long as they left him alone. He could handle tiny ones, but the larger ones were the problem. A dire problem that needed correcting quickly, in the form of stomping, or if they were terribly large, Aranea Exumai. Before he had a chance to get up, he heard a slapping noise, which was the palm of Keaira, smacking her now broken quill down upon the surface of her desk in frustration. He now wore a puzzled expression as he watched her violently jerk out another quill from her bag.
"Are you alright?" He asked her simply, his head tilted slightly and his brow a little pressed upon his eyes.

The connection showed him clearly the pain he'd caused with his careless response, and Zee immediately felt remorse. Sadistic as he still often was, hurting Keaira was one of the few things Zee wished to never do. Trying to find the proper words for an apology without retracting what he felt was a valid argument, his thoughts were interrupted by Keaira's angry retort. His lips twisted into a grimace as he tried to mentally reach out to her.
"Keaira . . ."
Wait . . . he felt nothing. He heard nothing. It was as it had been before he'd arisen as the Master of Metal. Was she keeping him out? Had she cut him off? The apologetic thoughts died in Zee's mind as his fists clenched along with his jaw. She likely couldn't hear his thoughts now, but he projected them forcefully anyway.
"Is that how it's going to be then? A very convincing argument that you're 'still here for me.' Enjoy your time with your useless lover."
Zee turned to his own work, examining the liquid in his vial and shaking it slightly. Alessandro's presence at the supply cabinet kept him from heading over to retrieve safety gear, but he was sure he wouldn't need it anyway. Zee was hardly some careless first year. He began scratching down his observations before setting a small portion of his potion to boil. Maintaining a completely expressionless exterior, Zee noted the changes in the color and texture of his liquid. He was going to acquire a spider for further testing when he heard Keaira's quill snap. Pointedly ignoring this, he picked up his vial and stood up. Then he heard Alessandro ask if she was all right.
Zee's fists clenched again as he thought about the hated Ravenclaw. Unfortunately the glass vial in his left hand didn't react well to being crushed. A pained hiss escaped Zee's lips as the glass cracked, neatly slicing the inside curve of his ring finger from the tip to the second knuckle. Hurriedly setting down the now slightly leaky vial inside his cauldron, Zee popped his bleeding finger into his mouth, realizing a second later that that may not have been the wisest move. Promptly removing his finger from his mouth, Zee glared at it and muttered.
"I think we've all arrived at a very special place. Spiritually, ecumenically, grammatically."
Reaching for his bag to see if he had anything inside he could use to stem the bleeding, Zee paused. What had he just said? That didn't even make any sense. Brow furrowing, Zee looked again at his sliced finger. Looking up toward the professor, Zee opened his mouth and suddenly shouted.
"A wedding? I love weddings. Drinks all around!"
Clamping both hands over his mouth, Zee tasted blood and realized he had just pressed his cut finger up against his lips again. Tearing his hands away and leaving a trickle of blood on one corner of his mouth, he shouted again.
"Stop blowing holes in my ship!"
Throwing his hands up in exasperation, Zee grabbed the cracked vial and walked up to Professor Sparrow. Taking a few frustrated breaths, he attempted to explain what had happened to the woman.
"Good morning Starshine! The Earth says hello!"
Sighing, Zee held up the clearly damaged vial and his bleeding finger, hoping it would be clear enough to her what had happened.

Flipping through her book, several of the pages soon bore rips and tears, as well as several of her fingers. But such a thing did not phase her. As the pages flipped she noted several things, but none seemed to be what she was looking for. This book was not helping, and it was pointless to continue looking. Closing the book with as much force as she slammed the quill on her desk, she stood up and was going to go test the potion on the spiders that were being provided for the class. That was until she heard Alessandro speak up.
Was she alright? what a strange question. Surely he knew that she was not alright. Scoffing at the idea that she was alright she turned fully on him. "Do I look alright? Hmmm? I pour so much effort in to everything I do , and yet it seems that my troubles are wasted. The results I seek allude me, and you my dear Alessandro are a prime example of what I mean." She stepped forward so that her lips were mere inches from the boys face as she spoke. Knuckles clenched to the point that they were clearly white. Her words were whispered, harsh and bitter. "Tell me Alessandro, If I were to stop holding back, and show you how I really feel would you respond to that, cause I'm getting tired of playing pretend. When All I want is you, and yet, I can't. Its infuriating."
Her next train of thought was derailed, as she stood there mere inches from Alessandro, a fire in her eyes like none any had ever seen, as she heard Zane begin to babble. Pushing Alessandro away from her she turned on Zane. He would not escape her wraith. "And You! You think that my world should revolve around you? Well it doesn't. Get over yourself and stop being a prat before you have no one!" With each word she took another step forward, closing the space between herself and Zane. Her eyes were wild, as she looked about the class room. Her gaze paused several times at the same thing, an empty chair. As she reached the empty chair Keaira picked it up from the ground and swung it around, narrowly avoiding a student or two, and threw it toward the wall.

After Evelyn had finished passing out the vials she returned to her desk. Keeping an eye on the students from her location she noted several things. Most students were taking the time to remember their safety gear, others were less than prompt when donning the gear. A slight disapproving smile creased her features, but as more and more students gathered their gear she began to let go of the thought that there would be major accidents.
When she saw Jason's hand in the air, her smile returned full force. Hearing that he was ready to test his potion she quickly retrieved the antidote to vial F, and a spider about the size of a quarter. The arachnid was in a clear class beaker, and stayed to scurrying across the bottom of the beaker, and not along the sides. The vial that Evelyn brought with her to Jason's desk contained a very green colored liquid. Setting both on Jason's desk she made sure the proper safety equipment was being worn by herself, and Jason. Handing Jason a pipette she spoke softly.
"Go ahead and give it a small sample, here is a pipette."
Evelyn knew that the spider would take the sample, with out too much trouble. She also knew that the sample would produce a multitude of boils across the poor spiders body soon after consumption. The antidote was very simple, a biol cure potion, something of first year standards. Waiting for Jason to administer the potion Evelyn chanced a look at her students. Caitlin seemed to be having issues, whether it was through a mental distraction, or a by product of the potion Evelyn was not quite sure yet. However, she made a mental note to check on the girl shortly. Tommy looked like things were under control just fine, and Alessandro seemed to be having little trouble as well currently. Evelyn's eyes then found Keaira. The girl had been given one of the more volatile potions among them. But she had also proven herself to be good at the class numerous times.
As Jason administered the potion to the spider, Evelyn turned her attention back to the boy. Red boils were sprouting from nearly everywhere in the spiders body. Yes, it looked quite horrible, and Evelyn quickly gave the green potion to the spider to return it to its normal state. With the container with the spider in it closed again, Evelyn headed back to her desk. Half way there however, she heard something slammed down on a desk. Turned around to see the commotion she saw Keaira speaking to Alessandro in a heated manner. Placing the spider on the desk, Evelyn moved to grab the antidote labeled H. Either Keaira had anger issues, or she had allowed the potion to enter her body.
With the potion in hand, Evelyn turned to hear another voice rising out in her class room. Zane was speaking nonsense. Looking from the girl to the boy she quickly decided that Keaira was the more important person to take care of. Zane babbling would not cause any one harm. Keaira being consumed by unbridled rage, however, might cause a bit of trouble. As Evelyn was about to ask Zane to hold Keaira still, a chair went flying in to a wall. Quickly preparing the antidote, Evelyn moved closer to Keaira.
"Oh My...Will some one hold her still for a moment."

Before he could get any response from the professor, Zee heard some rather angry words behind him. Turning to see his Shadow Warrior veritably hissing at Alessandro, a crooked smirk made emerged upon his face. Wishing to add his two cents into it, he spoke up.
"Have you never met a woman who inspires you to love? Until your every sense is filled with her? You inhale her. You taste her. You see your unborn children in her eyes and know that your heart has at last found a home. Your life begins with her, and without her it must surely end."
Blinking in confusion, Zee looked from Alessandro to Keaira. What the devil was he saying? Before he hadn't been able to make sense of any of the words spilling forth from his lips, but that last bit seemed strangely appropriate. Sort of. And then Keaira was screaming at him and he took an involuntary step back, shocked by her viciousness. His offended surprise quickly turning to anger, Zee stepped forward once more and hotly retorted.
"Everything in this room is eatable, even I'm eatable! But that is called 'cannibalism,' my dear children, and is in fact frowned upon in most societies."
That however had certainly not been relevant to the situation. Was his level of control over the content of his speech coming and going? Perhaps if he concentrated he could try and keep his ramblings somewhat parallel with his intended meanings. Before he had a chance to test out that theory though, Professor Sparrow was asking for assistance in restraining the unusually volatile Keaira. Zee glanced at the woman.
"What? No. We can't stop here. This is bat country. There's a uh . . . big machine in the sky, some kind of . . . I dunno, electric snake, coming straight at us."
Well, that had perhaps gotten across his confusion at the goings on, but still seemed to contain a lot of excess words. Rolling his eyes, Zee charged for his Shadow Warrior and wrapped his arms around her, trying to pin her arms to her sides so she wouldn't simply claw his eyes out or something. As he attempted to get a solid hold over her, he tried to speak soothingly.
"Giddy-up . . . no, no this way . . . good horsey."
Zee winced. Those were hardly charming words of comfort to offer an angry young woman. Clearing his throat violently, he tried again, whispering to her.
"One word love: curiosity. You long for freedom. You long to do what you want to do because you want it. To act on selfish impulse. You want to see what it's like. One day you won't be able to resist."
Not quite what he'd had in mind, and again Zee was struck by how the words had been far from his intent, but still seemed to reveal a piece of his mind. Perhaps he was merely interpreting a random grouping of words so that they made sense to him, but he could well imagine himself thinking that type of thing to Keaira, if not speaking it aloud, in a different setting. Thinking perhaps it best to remain silent until he was presented an antidote, he clenched his teeth and focused on holding Keaira still.

In the next few minutes, things seemed to escalate quickly in the classroom between Keaira, Zane, and himself. Zane all of a sudden began to shout, holding up a bloody finger. It would have made sense if he had said "Ow" or "Hey I cut my finger" but instead, he was spewing forth several randomly generated sentences as if were some sort of parrot that had imitated people. Keaira, for some reason, had lost all levelheadedness, and rationale as she began to raise her voice and seemingly threaten Alessandro. She was mere inches away from his face, and for a split second, he thought that she may hit him. What had suddenly turned her into this raging maniac? He took a couple of steps back as she had begun to rant about pouring all of her efforts into something and coming out fruitless. He quickly realized that she had been talking about him, as she plainly put it that he was a prime example of what she was talking about. The next sentence that came out of her mouth sent his mind into a whirlwind of confused thoughts. VERY confused thoughts.
What? Me? All she wants is me?? He blinked several times wondering if perhaps before his amnesia, they had been together. He couldn't deny the fluttery feelings he felt whenever he was alone with her company, but was that love? Like even? He had been attributing the feelings to good friendship, but then again, he had never been in love.
His fear of her hitting him abated as she turned her sights on Zane and began to chastise him. He glanced down at his potion that was in its tube, lying on his desk. The potions. He quickly looked over at Keaira's desk, eying her thick potion, and then across to Zanes, who's looked like it was destroyed.
They must have ingested their potions somehow... He did not have much time to process this thought, for Keaira had taken a chair and heaved it across the room, and into one of the stone walls. Alessandro, wide eyed, looked at her as if she were stark raving mad.
He was frozen in place as Professor Sparrow had instructed someone to restrain her, and just stood there as Zane had taken the liberty to jump right in and wrap his arms around her, still spewing out useless phrases. All he could consciously do was close his eyes.
Thump-thump. Thump-thump. Thump-thump.

The blood pumped though her veins, as if it were a raging river headed for a waterfall, faster than she could ever have recalled it flowing before. Her heart beating with in her chest, each pulse resonating in her head. Unable to keep still as her mind actively tried to control the effects that had taken hold of her, her eyes flitted back and forth with each slight movement of those around her. Fists clenched together to the point where her nails began digging in to the soft pale flesh of her palm.
Hearing Professor Sparrows comment, her eyes immediately locked onto the professor. No. She would not be subdued. Stepping backwards a few steps Keaira soon found her legs pressed up against a desk. Reaching back for balance, her hand pressed flat against its smooth surface. Sliding her hand across the exterior of the desk, she groped for a weapon to use against her assailants. Four small trails of blood were left by each hand, small bits of evidence of where her nails pierced her own skin.
Focused as she was on the professor, Zane’s movements were left undetected. It wasn’t until she felt his arms wrap around her body that she really took note of him. His voice did not register, his face was unrecognized. All that she could process was that right now, he was a threat. Feeling his arms being pressed against her torso, Keaira began to struggle against him. Shifting her weight from one leg to another, she attempted to throw him off her.
Her movements were sporadic, or at least would be for someone who could not read her mind, although acting as she was could hardly constitute as being thought out. Failing about, she was able to free her arm slightly. Just enough to be able to toss her elbow backwards, in hopes of landing a blow in Zane’s stomach. At the same time, Keaira lifted her left foot, and slammed it down toward Zane own foot. If only one of these two maneuvers worked, she would stand a chance of breaking free.
A low growling escaped her throat, as she hissed words at those that were staring at the commotion. “Get away… Leave… me… be…” Blinded by the rage that had consumed her, Keaira threw herself around, attempting to break free. However, all efforts seemed futile, and the professor was moving closer. In mere seconds she would be caught. “NO….”

(I don't know where my inspiration went for so long... but I think it might be back... I hope)
Mami looked at the bottle that had been given to her, it read the letter C on it and looked a bit odd. She was quick to set it some place secure before moving across the classroom for her safety gear. Once obtained, they were quickly put on and she opened the stopper, carefully wafting the scent. It tickled her nose enough that she wrinkled said appendage as she poured a bit into her cauldron and started it to simmer.
Once the stopper was safely back on her vial, she began jotting notes, physical qualities and it's interesting scent. She watched it simmering, careful not to breath it in as she opened a text book and began skimming through the list of potions for one of similar physical characteristics.
It was then that all hell broke loose in the from of the class. She couldn't help but be distracted by the three students speaking gibberish, and yelling. She tried, but then a chair was thrown across the room and her now nearly boiling potion was forgotten.
Even as her mind was pulled to the front of the class where goodness only knew was going on, Mami couldn't help wondering how Paradox-sama would react. She didn't even notice the change in thought or that her potion was beginning to burn into the cauldron.[/color]
