With sketch book on his lap and pencil at the ready, Bryan was merely waiting until both Gryffindor girls had given him permission to begin sketching. Bryan was not about to start until both had agreed, it was easier to start when it was certain that his composition wasn't going to change by a sudden disagreement in the request. However, neither Susan or Lydia expressed any negative in his question of whether they were ready or not. Instead, the two girl had soon moved into a conversation about the clouds above as Bryan's pencil moved across the white page, breaking its crisp white with the harsh graphite lines from his pencil. Bryan could not say how long it would take him to complete the drawing. He was not normally a slow drawer, so he did not believe it would be long, but would the two girls be patient enough to remain there until he finished?
After all, asking someone to draw oneself was all fun until one had to actually sit for it. Humans had the habit of having a short attention span. They soon grew tired of being seated in one spot, which was another reason why Bryan had stated the two girls could move freely. He wasn't going to restrict them when he was sure they would probably begin to feel bored eventually as they sat there. As it was, working with a pencil, Bryan felt a bit of remorse for the pencil in his hand. It was difficult to be loose with a pencil, as the line was so neat and tight, it made one not want to make any mistakes. As it was, Bryan had enough wish to be close to perfect as possible in his drawing. These people were real life and would be looking at his rendition of them at the finish. Rather than pencil, Bryan wished he had either conte crayon or charcoal, material he could be looser with his lines. The mediums produced a thicker line that it was more difficult to be so tight in detail.
However, Bryan only lamented his choice in drawing material a moment before it passed and he focused on drawing the two girls. He focused first on getting a rough line of the composition down, getting the two girls positions down on the page before he moved to work on adding the details so that the two light sketch blobs on the page began to resemble the two Gryffindor girls that sat on the ground before him.
As Bryan sketched, he smiled to himself as he listened to the other two speak. The conversation on clouds did not seem to last long before Susan began speaking about the coming season. A light smile touched his lips for a moment. "I never really ever gave thought to my own favorite season," he stated. "I don't really mind the stuff that people normally lament ... too cold, too hot, too wet... too much snow," he stated with a light smirk as he glanced at the lumpy white mush that was starting to melt with the warming temperatures. He turned his attention back to his drawing.[/blockquote]
