Passing the thought over in her mind, she knew that she would give him a chance, if only to see what he could do. Havoc could be terribly fun to watch, especially if it was well placed. She couldn't possibly fail to notice his reaction when she inquired about Dylan Cooper, and she was pleased that at least it wasn't common knowledge around the castle that he was perhaps acting strangely or doing anything to pay attention to. Simply nodding in reply to his scoffing question, she cast a small smile his way. She assumed that Zee would simply think that she knew of his relationship to D'rorah, and that was her reasoning to having him watched; if she stated as such, it would give him information, and she had not been in an overly sharing mood for this entire conversation. Starting now would be suspicious to shrewd eyes, and Zane was certainly in that category.
All she needed, however, was the small shrug and skewed nod. Ending that train in good time, she smiled lightly at his response to her next question. She noticed his haunting grin and surmised that he absolutely loved having the identities of the Lightfighters and their little gang and hanging that over her head. "Just one?" she said, not really as a question but more as a statement as she considered what identity she craved most. A surrepticious grin crossed her beautiful features but did not light them; no smile that ever crossed her face did. It was a smile for a smile's sake, rather than an actual expression of true happiness. She removed her sleeves from the wooden arms of the chair upon which she sat and folded them across her chest and she considered him.
There was always the possibility that the Elemental Master or Shadow Warrior she requested was not yet known to Zane, and if she asked for someone he did not know she didn't entirely count on him enough that he would give her another chance. Still, there was nothing for it. A Shadow Warrior was out of the question in her mind; the Masters were far more important. The Warriors could also be gained by seeing who associated commonly with any known Masters. Since D'rorah was also currently her focus, she responded quickly and quietly. "The Elemental Master of Wind. I presume D'rorah wouldn't still have a decent hold on her emotions if she didn't have someone to bond with." That was the only reasoning she could have for thinking the identity of that particular boy was known, but it was the best she had. That really needed to change, and she would have to talk to Caira about it. Phoenix eyed him carefully, watching for any signs that he might lie to her. She would let him have some fun around the castle, but it by no means meant that she trusted him.
