Shawn chuckled, pulling an elastic off her wrist to tie up her hair with. "I blame you because you're just so darn cute. That's why I blame you." With an airy laugh, she finally took out her wand and preformed the spell, watching her clothes fade from the darker, water drenched, colors to their normal shades. Satisfied, she shoved the wand back in the front pocket of her hoodie and turned her attention to the poor ghost of Moaning Myrtle's cubicle.
"Sad really, that she died so young. I bet she never got laid. That's why she's so bitter and hates everyone and complains all the time." Obviously, Shawn was kidding, but her calm and blank attitude didn't give much room for someone to understand the fact that she wasn't being serious. At least not one hundred percent so. It was a good idea, really. Especially since Myrtle probably died long before someone special came along...
Shaking perverse thoughts from her head, Shawn turned her attention back to the two in the bathroom with her. "I was saying Caitlin: So, do either of you have dates for the Halloween Ball that's coming up?"

Caity blushed even more so when Alessandro laughed, but managed to join him in his amusement when she looked around the bathroom. Streamers were everywhere, she realised as she brushed some off her clothes and onto the floor. By the time she was finished there was an even bigger pile on the floor, and she was still sopping wet. Shawn had dried herself by this point, but Caitlin thought it best to not try that particular spell again until she'd had a chance to practice, with no one else watching. She settled for dripping but streamer-free.
"Well, it cheered up the room a bit," she commented, stifling a giggle when she thought about what Moaning Myrtle would say when she returned. She stopped herself from laughing again at Shawn's next comment about Myrtle, not sure if she was making a joke or actually being serious.
"There's a Halloween Ball? I think someone mentioned it but I haven't heard much about it, really. That makes the answer to your question rather obvious really - no, I don't have a date. What about you two?"

"I don't have a date either..." He trailed off as he thought of Keaira. She would be back in time for the ball, so maybe they would go together. However, two weeks is a long time and who knows what kind of developments could occur within that span of time. He eagerly anticipated the Samhain Ball. He refused to call it Halloween, because that made it sound like some silly Muggle holliday. He couldn't wait to finally have a school function focused around social activity. He figured he would start working on finding an appropriate costume and mask, as it was going to be a masquerade ball.
He crossed his arms and thought inwardly at how much fun he was having now after having been crying earlier about how much of a failure he was. He shrugged it off and just took in the moment.
He walked over to the window and peered out into the sunshine.
"You guys fancy quidditch? I myself, am a seeker. I love flying through the air, forever in search of that golden sparkle, that flying orb." He said smiling as he let the warmth of the sun grace his features. He shut his eyes at the mention of the word "orb".
Tick tock tick tock, Alessandro, when are you going to buckle down and find your fire orb? He thought quietly in his mind, slightly frowning at this thought.

"Currently dateless. Probably staying that way. Less this Raven here wants to ask me." She grinned, still obviously kidding. Dro was attractive though, she knew. Someone she would date. But he probably had someone. At least someone that was interested. Several someones more than likely. Shawn wasn't exactly the most competitive girl, especially with something as tedious as guys.
Actually, she'd only ever fought over a guy once. With Ariana. Outwardly even, Shawn winced at the memory. Something fatal. Literally. God, she'd been so mad at Ari for going out with Shane. Ari knew how much she liked him... Shaking it off, the Slytherin tuned back into the conversation.
A little laugh escaped her. "I love to fly. Something about being up in the air and being free that just drives me wild. But, alas, I positively suck at it so... I'll be willing to go if someone's willing to carry me to the hospital wing afterwards." Only joking... okay... not really. It's not that Shawn was incredibly terrible at flying. She just got overly excited and tended to do dangerous things. She reminded herself of a cocker spaniel whenever she was on a broom.

It was just her luck that the first major social event for her at Hogwarts was a few days away, and she didn't really have anything to wear.
A shopping spree to Hogsmeade is in order, she thought to herself, glad that she'd already done most of her homework for that weekend. Rushing that and then going down to the wizarding village would certainly put a dampener on her spirits.
"Quidditch? Never played it. The main method of transport in India was magic carpets and they always appeared much more comfortable than brooms, so I've never ridden one before, or did much about quidditch. Unfortunately, it appears that magic carpets are illegal here so I can't use mine."
Her carpet had been a leaving present from Vijay when they decided to return to England, and with none of them really up to date on current wizarding laws they hadn't realised it wasn't allowed until it was confiscated at Ministry customs.
