Alexis listened to Zane’s explanation with a small suspicious scowl set across her features. His poorly conceived amusement frustrated her immensely: it seemed almost like all the students at Hogwarts regarded her as nothing more then a little girl. With her brow furrowing further, Ally realised that he had almost totally dodged his way around her main question. As she tucked a loose strange of her vivacious red hair behind her ear, her mouth was opening to tell him just what she thought: unfortunately, her words were cut off by the sudden shift of interest onto Caity. Glancing at her nonchalantly for the first time, her face immediately brightened. “Oh, hi! I think we’ve met before, during that…” she paused, casting around for an appropriate term, “‘ Quin incident’.” Pausing for a short moment to take in Caity’s rather sodden appearance, Alexis gave a small giggle, and finished with: “You really do seem to get wet a lot.” (ick, really short. @_@;

Caity shook her head in protestation when Kylo offered her his jacket.
"No, it's fine." Pointing her wand at herself again, she muttered a spell she'd had the common sense to go and look up in the library. "Tepidus Sursum." She immediately felt a warmth take hold and concluded that the warming spell was one of the most useful she'd ever come across, considering British weather and how often she seemed to get wet.
"Yeah, I'm Hufflepuff. 6th year. I'm Caitlin Collins, or Caity. You're Huffflepuff too, aren't you?" she answered the girl her own age. She had a feeling she'd seen her at the Hufflepuff table at breakfast earlier today, but she couldn't be completely sure. She also nodded grudgingly to Zee when he made his apology. He sounded genuine enough, but you could never be sure at Hogwarts.
She grimaced when Ally mentioned the 'Quin incident' - one of the many times she had gotten soaked over the last week or so. "Hi, Ally. Yes, I seem to have the effect on people that they gain a strange desire to completely saturate me when I cross their path. It's getting rather tiresome, if you ask me."

Wysteria listened to Zane's answer with a small amused smile, and turning to Ally with the same expression. Poor girl didn't seem to get what she wanted out of him. Wysteria sympathized with the girl, trying to get information she had been denied. She opened her mouth, but Ally made a comment to Caitlin about another "quin" incident. That young Slytherin was creating quite a reputation for herself among the other students for being an annoying pest. Wyst made a mental note to tell the other prefects to keep an eye on her.
"Ahhh Quin. She seems to be a problem for a lot of students. Yeah, I'm Hufflepuff prefect, " she said, clenching her jaw a bit as she remembered the girl's insanity in the ballroom that led to a double jinx. She gave Caitlin a small laugh at her comment. "Things could be a lot worse though, nice drying charm by the way."
She glanced in Zane's direction as she said just loud enough for him to hear, "It seems you know how to handle dangerous creatures."

Zee sighed dramatically, thinking that many people here were far too easily offended, and far too skeptical about apologies. His apology had been genuine in that he hadn't wished to offend Catlin at all, though it had far more to do with wanting to keep her happy with him in case he ever needed to use her for something than any actual concern for her well being. Despite their encounter in the forest he did not know her well enough, had not invested enough time and energy into getting close to her for her well being to be of any real concern to him. The fact remained though that he didn't want her upset with him.
Turning to Wyst at her quiet comment, Zane put on a sickeningly innocent smile and shrugged, then laughed softly.
"That my dear is a conversation for a more private setting. Drat, if only I could think of a time and place."
His speech was similarly soft, not designed to be overheard by any others present but not especially well hidden either. If any others had caught it, so be it. They wouldn't know what to make of it. He winked covertly and stepped away to retrieve his effects. He was grinning to himself as he unfolded and slipped on his shirt, closing only the bottom three buttons. He returned, affixing his multiple necklaces in place before sliding his various wrist ornaments on.
Yes, she'll likely meet me tonight. Oh how I've missed our talks.
He pointedly didn't question the reason for his nostalgia, insisting that it was simply a desire to continue the charade.

Kylo tossed his coat back to the tree, and rolled up his pants to his knees. Then, carefully looking into the water to make sure he didn't trip over a overlarge frog, he walked out, standing near the other students. He smiled when they mentioned "the Quin inccedent" and gave a small wince, much like Caitlin's. He had walked in on after Quin had gotten hexed, and it seemed like she had deserved it. Water creatures. He listened to the talking for a second, then decided he might try to pick up that rock, which was only a few feet away on the bank.
He leaned way over, digging his toes in the sandy bottom, until he picked up the flat smooth stone. Then, he carefully leaned back until he was standing in the water. Quite pleased with his progress, as in, not falling flat on his face, he fitted it in his hand, and with a sharp flick, sent it skimming across the waves. Each plunk sent a light red ripple through his mind. Once, twice, three times, and finally 18 times it skipped across the lake, until an oily tentical reached out and caught it, before smashing back into the water with a dark brown sploch in his mind. ((Im lost on what to say.))

By the expression on the Hufflepuff prefect's face, she had also had an encounter with Quin. As a prefect, she probably hadn't ended up hexing the annoying 1st year Slytherin, and Caitlin wasn't going to mention the fact that she had done just that after getting to her wits' ends.
She nodded in thanks at the comment about the drying spell, remembering what had happened the first time she'd tried to use it by copying Alessandro. She'd managed to cover Moaning Myrtle's bathroom in party streamers, and had only realised that she'd added an extra letter into the spell when Alessandro pointed it out. She'd perfected the spell later, in her own time, and it was coming in handy with everyone getting her wet.
At Zee's next comments she frowned, not quite sure who or what he was talking about. He seemed to be grinning about something when he redressed, though.
She turned quicly upon hearing a splashing noise - something she seemed to be hearing far too much at the moment for her liking - and saw Kylo skimming stones across the lake, to be caught and sunk by what must be the Giant Squid. Apparently he didn't have a very long attention span. She'd heard of the massive sea creature residing in the waters, but had never actually seen it. She continued watching, hoping to catch another glimpse.
