Ariana had been walking along the Black lake bored out of her mind. She had her hair up in a Pony Tail, had on a Pair of Deep green pants with a Black tank top that said Proud Slytherin on the back. She had a little Red lip gloss with black eye liner. She stopped and Picked up a few small flat rocks and begin skipping them across the water. She watched as some of the 1th and 2th years played tag on the other side of the lake. She was thinking back to when she was young and How she used to watch the other kids play. She didn't have very many friends as a child and that was part of the reason she seemed so cold to everyone around her. It didn't bother her though here, the people around Hogwarts seemed okay though she hadn't talked to many of the other Students.
She began to walk again back to the school. This had been the 14th time today that she had done this and She Still was bored. She had just gotten to the end of the lake when......

There were no words to explain the feeling within Susan as she stepped outside of the Hogwarts Castle. Upon waking up that morning, she'd quickly slipped on a pair of blue sweats and an old muggle t-shirt. Stopping only to make sure her wand was safe in the tight space between her waist and her waistband, Susan was out the door of her Gryffindor Dormitory and rushing down to the common room. Not stopping to see who was there, Susan continued out of the Gryffindor tower, proceeding to fly down the seven flights of stairs, dodging anyone in her way and ignoring the angry remarks, of those who were accidentally shoved.
Out of breath and exhilarated, Susan looked to the sky. It was a beautiful day. Susan remembered the last time she'd been out before the ban was put in to place. It had been rather cloudy, she recalled. It had ended in a huge thunderstorm, that got both herself and Dylan sopping wet, Susan recalled. Taking a deep breath of fresh air, Susan slipped off her famous yellow flats and began to traipse barefoot down the grassy slope.
Headed for the lake once more, Susan took her time getting there. She felt the soft green grass massage her toes and the cool breeze tease her hair out of the loose braids that she'd slept in overnight.
Finally she was at the lake. It was as beautiful as she'd remembered. Except this time slightly calmer. Across the lake, Susan recognized a direct ripple in the water, obviously the squid. Susan laughed when she remembered the friendly squid. It had playfully lifted her in to the air at her last visit to the lake. Maybe she would go swimming upon this visit as well. . .
As Susan had reached the lake, she saw a girl leaving. She looked new. Susan was fairly familiar with most of the students at Hogwarts. But then again, Susan noticed she was a Slytherin and she hadn't met many Slytherin.
"Hey!" Susan called to the girl, "Don't leave now, it's a beautiful day!" She smiled happily, "Last time I checked it was around one o'clock, so we've got a few hours before curfew, why not stick around?"

Ariana looked up to see a Gryffindor, who had Long, layered, and mahogany brown hair with Pale blue eyes. Ariana Stopped walking when the Girl called out, "Hey!, Don't leave now, it's a beautiful day!" the Other Girl smiled Happily, "Last time I checked it was around one o'clock, so we've got a few hours before curfew, why not stick around?" Ariana gave a Small Smirk then said “Sure, why not. I'm Ariana Angevin, you are?” Ariana Waited for Her Respond. She had taken a Sit on a fallen Tree near by and was playing with her mothers locket. Before stopping and Picking up more flat rocks then skipping them across the lake. She was once again think about her ChildHood and Her Mother. She remembered what her mother looked like. She was 5'8 and was fairly Skinny too. She had long, Curly, blond hair with Bright Green eyes. She had long finger nail and big hand when Ariana was five. Ariana Looked Up back at the Gryffindor Still waiting for her to respond.

Susan was thrilled to see that the Slytherin girl chose to stay. Susan followed her to the fallen tree where the girl chose to sit. Susan sat a little further off on the tree on a part that hung over the water. She sat hugging one knee, with one foot extended off the edge of the tree so that it kicked in the water.
“Sure, why not. I'm Ariana Angevin, you are?” Ariana Waited for Her Respond.
"Ariana Angevin," Susan repeated dreamily, "You have a beautiful name. She sighed, "My name's Susan Matthews," Susan replied plainly. Susan leaned back happily, tossing her shoes further into the bank, so that she would not drop them into the water by mistake. Pond water could be fatal to yellow ballerina flats, you know. Susan looked over to Ariana. She noticed the locket around her neck. Susan couldn't help but comment on the piece of jewelry.
"I love your locket," Susan complimented, "Very classic." She watched Ariana throw a couple of the smooth stones on to the lake only to see them skip for a few times. Susan smiled. She would try it herself, but she knew that she would horribly fail. She wasn't the best at sports and usually ended up embarrassing herself whenever she attempted one.

“Thank you, it belonged to my mother” She said Smiling a bit. Ariana watch as Susan put her feet in the water and the tossed her shoes on to the bank. “So what Brings you out here Susan?” asked Ariana. She took off her locket and looked at the back. In Small Gold letters it said, Melody- Come seek us where our voices sound, We cannot sing above the ground. An hour long you'll have to look, To discover what it is we took. 'h'm I wonder what that means?” Ariana though. She Flipped it over on to the fount and outlined the lines that made it look like a Sea shell. It was Sliver in color and you could see the letter easily so why did she not see it before. She held it by the chain and watched it swing. She looked out over the water thinking about what it said on the back.

“So what Brings you out here Susan?” asked Ariana.
Susan returned her gaze to Ariana. What brings her out here? That was a simple enough question. "The ban restrictions have been lessened, of course!" Susan answered with a "duh" kind of voice. Then Susan realized if she was a transfer student, which she appeared to be, she probably didn't know the whole story.
"We used to have a ban," Susan explained to Ariana, "that kept up from leaving the school." Susan smirked at the next part, "This obviously didn't sit well with us, the students. After much complaining either everything is safe now, or we got our way!" Susan giggled to herself. She recalled the majority of the time with the ban that she'd spent complaining. She would have much rather liked the new restrictions gone all together, but she took what she got.
Susan watched Ariana take off her locket and inspect it. Susan noted the past tense in "belonged". However, she had no way to tell with out being rude whether the tense meant it was a gift or if she'd acquired it through a death. She decided that Ariana would tell her if she wanted to, and if not, it was up to her. For now, Susan was content to just relax and enjoy the gorgeous weather.

“Oh I see” Said Ariana. “Susan, do you know what, “ Come seek us where our voices sound, We cannot sing above the ground. An hour long you'll have to look, To discover what it is we took, Means?” asked Ariana looking at Susan. She then looked back over the lake wounder what it meant. What could her mother wanted her to know. She remembered when her mother die. Ariana's eyes had this glassed over look to them.
-Flash back-
A 13 year old Ariana was standing by her mother and fathers bed in there old log cabin house. The walls were a deep cherry wood with deep green carpeting. The Bed was Old and worn with Sliver and a lighter Shad of Green Sheets. Her mother was on the bed barely alive and hardly Breathing.
“mother, please don't leave me” Cried little Ariana holding on to her mothers hand and Leaning on the bed. “My little snake, Please don't cry for me. We'll me again some day” her mother said in her sweet kind voice. “Ariana, I want to have these” She add taking off the Sea shell locket that she only ever let Ariana see what was in Side along with her Black leather Journal.
“Mother, I....”was all Ariana could say before she Started Cry so hard she couldn't speak anymore. Her mother laded back down on the bed and rested her head on the Pillow, “My little snake, I want you to never lose that Locket it will show you were you belong” Callia said Faintly, her hand was on Ariana's head. “I love you Ariana and I will watch over you in the end” she add just as she closed her eyes, Her hand fell from Ariana head where it had been resting.
“Mother, Mother?” asked Ariana Looking up. Her face Stand with tear and her eyes red From crying. “MOTHER, I Loved you too” She added before running from the room in Tears. She when to where she aways when, The River. She spent the Next four hours there before her boyfriend found her asleep on the Rock.

(OOC: you might want to use the spell check option and remember to check your grammar. your writing is kind of hard to understand)
Susan listened to Ariana contemplate the locket. It had an inscription that Ariana read aloud to Susan.
“Come seek us where our voices sound, We cannot sing above the ground. An hour long you'll have to look, To discover what it is we took."
Susan laughed, "To discover what we took?" she repeated, "Sounds like you've got a thief on your hands!" She thought a moment, trying to imagine what could have been taken from this girl. A light breeze came across the lake, rippling the water slightly. Susan watched the squid emerge from the water again, this time closer. Susan wondered if it had recognized her. It had been a while since she'd last been to the lake.
"The confusing part," Susan continued hesitantly "Is the 'An hour long you have to look'." Susan peer confusedly at Ariana across the log. "Why can't you have more than an hour?" She asked puzzled. Ariana's poem sounded like some sort of riddle, Susan realized. A very tricky riddle, Susan thought, but that had never stopped her from figuring one out before.

Alessandro sat by the far end of the lake next to a shady willow tree. He took in a big breath of air as his thoughts ran rampant in his mind. I feel strange lately... He thought to himself. He shook his head and reached down next to him and picked up a small, palm-sized rock. He worked it over through his fingers and felt the smooth, hard surface of the rock. Perfect for skipping.
This damn battle...I wish it would be over soon.... He thought angrily as a flame sparked inside of him. He glared at the stone in his hand as he continued brooding over the feelings of impending doom he had been overcome with lately. The other night he had awoken from a terrible nightmare. Everyone at Hogwarts was in danger from the darkness. He closed his eyes and remembered bits of his sinister dream.
He was standing in the forbidden forrest with his fellow Elementals and Shadow Warriors. Wysteria was next to him chanting the Shadow Warrior chant to fight the darkness. People were casting patronuses left and right, and then the mage appeared. With one fell swoop she took out several warriors.
He opened his eyes and looked up at the sky and took in another deep breath. "That book did something to me..." He whispered as he thought about that purple light he kept seeing in his mind from time to time. He took the stone and cast it into the lake. It skipped three times and then plumetted into the depths.
He looked up and noticed two girls talking a distance away from him. It appeared they did not notice him as he had been obscured by the hanging greenery of the willow tree. He stood up and began to approach them. As he drew near, he recognized one of the girls to be Susan Matthews and another he had not met yet.
"Hello Susan." He smiled and waved. He looked at the other girl. "Hi there." He extended his hand to meet her. "I'm Alessandro. Whats your name?" He asked her with friendly warmth.

Ariana watched as a boy came over and said Hello to Susan. Told her his name, asked her what hers was and held out his hand. She didn't take his hand but she say, "Nice to meet you, I'm Ariana" She looked back at Susan before looking back at the Lake. She was unsure how to answer Susan because she herself didn't know the answer her self. Her Pride wouldn't let her Admit that to a Gryffindor either. She *Sighed* feeling a bit tried all of a sudden and want to leave but didn't. She just sat there zoned off in her own little world.

Susan looked up to see someone approaching. Susan smiled when she realized it was Alessandro and waved to him. She hadn't seem him since that strange night in the corridor. He seemed to be fine now. As much as she wanted to ask how he was feeling, Susan decided not to bring it up in front of her new friend. She didn't want any uncomfortable questions to ruin such a perfect day.
"Hey Alessandro," Susan greeted after introductions were made. "Maybe you can help with the riddle Ariana has," Susan continued, "It's kind of tricky. Something about singing and looking for something that's been taken . . ." Susan looked to Ariana, "Will you repeat the riddle?" she asked. Susan shifted to a different position to better see Ariana and Alessandro. With her chin now resting on one knee, she continued to kick her foot in the clear lake water, her mind dwelling on what sort of creatures might live beneath the surface.

"Come seek us where our voices sound, we cannot sing above the ground...." Alessandro had repeated with a puzzled look on his face. "Hrmmmm....." He stroked his chin lost in thought trying to decipher this little diddy. He looked back to Ariana and noticed she seemed to be a world apart from where Susan and He stood. Space cadet... He thought playfully as a brief smile played over his face.
He looked down again still thinking and then looked over toward the lake. The ripples of the stone he had thrown had since vanished and the lake looked still again. "We cannot sing above the ground...." He murmured gazing into the depths of the lake. "I think it may be talking about something underwater, no? I mean, you can't sing underground....like IN the ground because...you'd be dead. At least you can hold your breath underwater. I've sung before underwater...but the bubbles make it sound weird." He said looking back up to Ariana.

Many things to do and so little time to do so" Ariana stood up and was walking up the Hill when she stopped at looked at the lake. She Shook her head before heading off up the rest of the way. She was going to the Slytherin common room to rest. She had been Tried lately but didn't know why, Mostly from Stress.

Susan was sad to see Ariana leave. She didn't seem to be having much fun out doors anyway. It was as if she had something else on her mind. Susan returned her attention to Alessandro. His reply to the riddle was well thought out.
"I didn't even think about that part," Susan contemplated, "I wonder what sort of thing might be under the water and would have taken something of Ariana's?" Ariana seemed nice enough. She may have been a little out-of-it most of the time, but she didn't seem like the type of person someone would want to steal from.
Susan shrugged and decided to change the subject. "How've you been Alessandro?" she asked vaguely. She left it up to him to answer how he wished. She was rather curious to if really was feeling better from the nights previously. She want to pressure him though, Susan wasn't entirely sure she was supposed to have been there in the first place.
