(all years, All houses and Libby, and i really do mean that class will begin at 12:45 eastern time on sunday. So post in here by then!)
It was late in the afternoon, just before 4:00pm. But that was something you would never be able to tell with in this classroom. There were no windows, and now way to allow natural light in. It was quite clear that no one had ever thought to use the same enchantment that the great hall has to lighten up the room. However, that fact was mostly due to the previous teachers’ preferences.
Evelyn was no different. She had beleived that the feel of the classroom, was just enhanced by its lack of windows. It made it cozy, and warm. Plus there was a new ventilation system to clear up the air.
The room was currently empty, but that would soon be changing. she had students, and a fellow adult attending this lesson. With a glance at a clock she noted that they had about 15 minuets to file in before the class would start. She had a plan, and would not tolerate students’ nonsense interfering in it.
On her desk there was an empty cauldron, with supplies settled next to it. She would be joining the class in their brewing today. After all she enjoyed potion making more than any others she knew, a lot more than most she knew.

Alessandro entered the potions room slowly. First in... he thought unsure. He waved and greeted the Professor. "Hello Professor Sparrow!" He said warmly, hoping he wasn't too early. He took a seat in the front row and sat down with his bag at his feet. He needed to absorb as much as he could, for he was dreadful when it came to potions and often stole away to the fifth floor corridor where Severus Snape's portrait hung. He always badgered him into revealing ingredients to potions, or effects of potions and their rarity, but to Alessandro's luck, his begging proved unyielding.
He pulled out his potions book and layed it down, following some parchment and a quill. He glanced around the room hoping that students would be filing in soon, he always felt a tad nervous when he was the first in to class, like he was in the hotseat.

Keaira knew that she was going to be early but it didn’t matter she LOVED potions. It was that fact alone that had led her from the common room to the class room so early. She carried her book bag on her back, with all her ingredients, and potions book, and her cauldron in her arms, she was ready for this class. It always made her happy to mix the proper ingredients, and follow the recipe to get the proper result.
She opened the door, and walked through, a smile taking up her entire face. This was going to be her best class. She knew it. Although her hands were full she nodded at Alessandro as she spotted him in the front row. She had planned on sitting there, so he would just have to deal with being next to her. As she took her seat and put all her things down she looked at the professor.
“Good afternoon professor. I hope you’ve enjoyed your day so far!”
Her voice was filled with enthusiasm as she greeted the professor. Keaira planned on making a great first impression. She then glanced over to Alessandro, and gave him the smile that she always reserved for him. The one that said she was going to have something smart to say.
“Hey Alessandro, what brings you to class this early?”
Keraira looked back to the door as it opened, this time to bring in a fellow Slytherin. Gat entered the room, his supplies piled in his hands. He looked around quickly and then took a seat.

Diana stopped at the door of the classroom, peering aorund. She didn't enjoy being the first in any class, and especially Potions, seeing as it wasn't her strong point. At the sight of two boys and a girl, who looked to be much older then herself, she entered the classroom. The Dungeon wasn't the best place for a class in her opinion, but she wasn't about to complain.
"Good afternoon, Professor," She said quickly as she made her way to the front of the room. She figured the closer she was to another student, the better off she was. She took her seat in the row behind the boy and took pit her Potions book without another word.

Susan wasn't so excited about her first Potions lesson. Although she liked it, she was never really good at cooking. She expected Potions to be the same way. Susan also wasn't looking forward to spending a whole class period in the dungeons. Susan was partial to the fresh air and outdoors. The thought of being cooped up with no windows didn't make her happy.
Susan slowly made her way down the stairs. Even though it was easier than walking up the stairs of the Astronomy Tower, she still didn't like walking too fast. Despite her long legs, Susan found she greatly preferred walking slowly.
Susan entered the classroom and found a seat somewhere in the middle of the room. She didn't want to sit in the front, because she didn't like too much attention from the professors. The back wasn't good either for first impressions. At nice seat in the middle seemed like the best choice. At her seat, Susan unpacked her cauldron and waited patiently for class to begin.

Libby Albion entered the Potions classroom, looked around, and took the seat closest to the door. While not normally a shy person, Libby felt distinctly out of place at Hogwarts, particularly so as an adult in a room filled with teenage students, all of whom doubtless knew more than she did about the subject.
Of course, that wasn't exactly hard, she thought -- Libby was a Muggle-born witch who had been invited to attend Hogwarts when she turned eleven, just like any number of other young witches. Since it never occurred to her parents that such a school could actually exist, however, they had dismissed the letter as a practical joke and Libby had continued attending the Corston Village school, just as she had since first grade. It wasn't until she was in her early twenties that she had met and married Phoenix Albion, who had gradually managed to convince Libby that magic really did exist, and that the oddities she had occasionally experienced while growing up were the result of her own inadvertent practice of magic.
They had been married for three years when Phoenix had applied for an opening at Hogwarts and been accepted as the new Divinations master. That had been nearly a month ago, and with the start of classes Phoenix had encouraged her to ask some of the teachers if she could audit classes. The new Potions teacher, Evelyn Sparrow, had invited Libby to attend classes, so here she was, ready for her first official "magic" lesson.
She didn't think she'd been this nervous since her wedding day. And that day, she'd broken out in hives.

Evelyn was very happy to see that so many students were filling in early. Class was still had a bit longer before it started, so she wasn’t in a rush to get moving along. As each student greeted her she politely smiled back, with warms words of greeting in return.
When asked how her days had been she smiled at the girl. It was always nice to see some one so excited about a class. “My day has been quite nice, thank you Miss....O'Connell?” She had glanced at her list and had only seen a few Slytherins, and not that many girls that looked to be about 5th years, so it seemed that her choice was easy
“We still have a bit before we start the class officially, so let’s get the formalities out of the way. I am,” Her wand pointed at the blackboard where the words ‘Evelyn Sparrow’ appeared in a loopy cursive. “Professor Sparrow to those who do not wish to lose points. Before we begin does any one have any questions?”

"Hey Keaira!" Alessandro waved to her as she had greeted him. She sat down next to him with a sort of "Lets get down to business" air about her. He detected that this subject was her passion, her flare. She had asked him why he was so early to class and he took a moment. "You know..." He gave a short laugh. "I really don't know! I guess punctuality actually caught up with me, eh?" He smiled as he looked over his shoulder. He noticed Gat and Susan and a first year Gryffindor girl had already entered the room. Still smiling, he returned his gaze to the front of the room as the professor began to speak.
Her name appeared on the blackboard as Evelyn Sparrow, and they were all instructed to precede the latter with Professor, if they all wished to retain their house points. Alessandro made a mental note of this regardless of how he normally carried on with his professors. He had never once called one of them by their first names, as he deemed it rude and disrespectful.
She had asked if anyone had any questions before they all began, of course, Alessandro's hand shot in the air. "Professor Sparrow, will you be offering any extra credit throughout this course?" Alessandro asked eagerly. He had a hint of yearning in his voice as he felt he may need the extra credit. He was no Severus Snape when it came to potions. He, in truth, had been rather dreadful in this class during his magical education at Hogwarts.

(class has started, if you're not here you're Late.)
“A good question Mister Darko. I feel that extra credit at this time will be assigned on a case by case basis if some one is doing dreadfully in class I may assign them extra homework to help increase there grade. But I will not do this lightly, if you really are that poorly in this class then you will be willing to put the extra effort, and Hard Work to earn your grade.”
Evelyn smiled in a very warm and welcoming way, feeling quite happy that there were some people who were truly excited about her class. The clock slowly ticked over to 4:00, and Evelyn walked over to the door and closed it. It was time to begin. She turned around and walked to the front of the class.
“Alright class I know that there’s a wide range of skill levels in his class so were going to start slow. Who can tell me what a shrinking solution is used for?”

Alessandro knew the answer to this one as he had many toils in finally producing a decent shrinking solution a year ago. He raised his hand calmly and spoke. "It is used to shrink things....and I think I read somewhere that it reverses the aging process too?" He ended his answer in the upward vocal inflection of a question, as he wasn't 100 percent sure of this, though, he had indeed read it somewhere.

Keaira smiled at Alessandro. He had no real explanation for his early attendance, but it was still a good conversational topic. She was about to respond, when the teacher began the class with a question.
Keaira's hand was up in the air as soon as she heard the question. She had been in the class since her first year, and therefore this was old knowledge, but she needed to regain some of those lost points. She smiled politely and waited to see if she would be called on, but there were several other hands in the air as well, Gat, Alessandro, and maybe one others.

Evelyn listened to the explanation of shrinking solutions that Darko offered and curtly nodded with his conclusion. “Right, perhaps first we shall go over some rules.” She turned to the blackboard and waved her wand at it, sending words across the board.
1. Be On time for Every class, tardiness is not tolerated. 2. Wait to be called on before answering a question, this allows every one a chance. 3. Use proper respect when address both the teacher and the fellow students. 4. Do not Eat, or Drink in the class unless otherwise instructed! 5. If you are unsure of something ALWAYS ASK FIRST! 6. When brewing potions, always use safety procedure, which will be gone over before the potion is assigned. 7. Do NOT leave potions unattended. 8. If ANY thing is spilt, inform the teacher promptly, do not try to clean it up unless you have been instructed.
“Right now, who can tell me why these rules are important, and I want to see hands.”

Keaira's hand was once again quickly in the air, waiting to be called upon. She was slightly disappointed that Alessandro had beaten her to the chase, but she soon got over it.She had a good understanding about why there were rules about potions making, and she knew that if the wrong things were mixed a volatile combination could be formed. there for these rules were in place for a reason. And that was to keep things orderly and safe.
Hopefully, she thought, this time she would get there before him.

Dylan was flustered and out of breath, but continued to run through the dungeon passageways of Hogwarts nevertheless. Robes billowing, backpack jolting, he descended into the stairwell that led to Potions. Stopping just outside the door, he checked his watch for the fifth time in as many minutes and puffed heavily, trying to regain his breath. His strap-on watch told him that he was but a few minutes late. Not knowing the temperament of his professor yet, however, made him slightly anxious as to whether he'd be punished. Figuring there was no help for it now, he pushed open the heavy-set door and stepped inside the classroom.
He noted quickly that 5 students were spread across the room, and the Professor, whom he discovered was female, was standing behind her desk. He noticed that behind her was a set of rules and gulped upon reading the first one. His black school robes were dusty around the base and one sleeve was up to his elbow, while the other was all the way down his arm. He realised that his somewhat tacky appearance may not indeed do him any favours in his current situation, and sighed lightly. This was the first time in his entire three years that he'd been late to class, excluding the first day of his arrival when Peeves had been a little bit of a bugger and sent him off the the Divination tower when he was looking for Transfiguration.
"I'm so sorry I'm late, Professor.." he said meekly, his cheeks red and his breath deliberated. His head was down and his hair created a curtain-like effect, flopping down in front of his face and swinging ever so slightly. Still standing in the middle of the classroom, he bit his lip and waited, tense. His thumbs were found to be twiddling slightly, and his shoulders were rigid, despite him being bent over somewhat.

Professor Sparrow was about to call upon Keaira O’Connell to help explain these rules were necessary. However, class was immediately disrupted by a young man who had burst through the door in a crazed and out of breath fashion, as if he had just ran a 20 mile race. She Scowled at the boy, and quickly turned to him. “Young Man, are you aware that this class starts promptly at 4 pm, and that it is currently, 4:06? I would like you to read me the first rule, and tell me why it’s important. And if you can not give me a satisfactory answer in addition to an explanation of your tardiness, be prepared to lose 10 points for your house.”
She looked at the boy with a very pointed expression. She was a really easy going professor, as long as you were on time. She turned back to Keaira who had been prepared to answer the question, and smiled warmly. Keaira had been early, as well as some others, a boy by the name of Darko perhaps, and another girl, and boy. “Miss O’Connell. If you would like, for a few points, you could explain why we need the remainder of the rules in the class.”
