Blaire came staggering in with her bag tangled around her body and after opening the door, her books that were in her arms went pouring into the floor. She saw the students that were already in the room look at her and the teacher seemed to just freeze for a second. Her face instantly turned red. Blaire wanted to just drop everything and run out the door, What a great way to start my first class, I'm such a clutz!.
Instead of giving into her temptation, she smiled and bent down to pick up her books, "Hey everyone!! I'm new, that was my grand entrance." she heard her Texan accent coming out and smiled even bigger. She took pride in being a Southern girl.

Keaira seemed to be off in her own world, glancing out the window wishing that she could have the free time to just go out there, and frolic in the grass, As she heard the teacher instigate a roll call it didn't seem to connect in her mind that she was sitting by the window with her bag on the floor for a few moments.
She shock her head to clear her dreams of devil sticking in the sun, and smiled at the teacher, glancing around the room. "Sorry, I guess I was just thinking how great it is to be outside, My names Alecto O'Connell, but I prefer Keaira, as I'm sure is noted in my student file. I'm a 5th year Slytherin, and--."
As she was about to finish her statement the green house door exploded, and a girl in her year seemed to stumble about, and drop everything on the floor. Keaira suppressed the urge to laugh at her, and instead covered her mouth, and stared at the girl instead.

Keaira had begun her introduction. This time she introduced herself as Alecto, something he had never experienced from her. He had the pleasure of enduring several of her introductions in the past as they had a habit of meeting new people together, but never once had she introduced herself as Alecto O'Connell.
His thoughts were shattered by a clumsy girl bursting through the greenhouse door with as much force as an exploding Erumpent Horn. The girl looked mortified to have burst into class in the manner in which she had done and seemed to compensate by turning it into something to laugh at by means of a quirky introduction.
As soon as he heard her speak, he instantly took a liking to her. American! He thought in his head. Alessandro loved all Americans without prejudice due to the sheer fact that he lived back in the states for a while. He was fascinated by the American lifestyle and through his experience, he gained mounds of knowledge on muggles.
He shot the girl a quick smile that seem to say: "That was very amusing." and then he looked on at the Professor, awaiting her reaction to the sudden disruption.

Focusing as the teacher began to speak, he soon deduced that she was a rather happy, bubbly personality. A small smile rising onto his face, his day brightened even more as she announced a 5 point bump for every student. Seeing, with a slight moment of disappointment, that he was the only Ravenclaw in class, he calmed down slightly, but it was still five points. Considering his earlier loss of five points in Potions class, he considered himself even now.
Seeing her float the Devil's Snare onto her desk, he sat up straighter in his seat and recalled both learning about the plant a few years ago, as well as reading about it from the tales of Harry Potter.
Seeing her begin a roll-call, starting with Keaira, his eyebrows surreptitiously went upwards. Alecto... He'd never heard that introduction before. Keaira was interrupted halfway through her little speech by a sudden burst of disruption in the form of a Gryffindor. Preventing himself from laughing, he watched as she blushed and attempted to collect her books back together.

Evie tried to listen as the girl in Slytherin robes started her introduction. She just couldn't, her head was in the clouds picturing every student talking to their friends and saying that Herbology wa their favorite class. She was jerked back into reality when the door to the greenhouse flew open.
Evie seemed to stop in her tracks when she saw the younger Gryffindor stumble into the classroom. She, like many students in her classroom at the moment, wanted to laugh but suppressed in with a smile, "Hello, nice of you to join us. Take a seat." She smiled as friedn;y as she could manage without looking as if she thought the girl was a fool, which she didn't. However, when she walked back to her desk, making sure her back was facing the students, she let out a small smile.

((OoC: I'm glad you all enjoyed her fall lol )) Blaire had finally picked up all of her books and stood back up. Even though the professor had turned her back, Blaire still saw her laughing smile. She really couldn't blame her, picturing what everyone must have seen, it was pretty funny. She looked over and saw a guy in ravenclaw robes smile at her. She could have just melted away from embarassment, but she held her head high and practically ran to sit beside the only person she knew in the room. After she was seated she looked over at Aimee adnd wispered, "Was it that bad??" Blaire's face burned with humiliation.

After the girl had run over and took a seat next to Aimee, Alessandro quickly rummaged through his bag looking for his notes. There was something he was forgetting about Devil's Snare, and he wanted to recall it but was failing miserably. His memory had not been quite right since he had been purposefully depriving himself of sleep to avoid unwanted, twisted nightmares. "Ahhh." He said satisfactorily as he pulled out his notes for Herbology.
He sifted through them quickly muttering "Devil's Snare, Devil's Snare..." repetitively as if this chant would cause him to find the notes on that particular plant faster than usual. He eventually found the notes on Devil's Snare and began to read them thoroughly while waiting for Keaira either to finish her introduction, or for the Professor to move on to the next student.

Aimee was one of the few that laughed openly at Blaire's entrance to the class. Aimee had known Blaire her entire life and she was always doing this kind of stuff, "Well, it was bad but at least you will have something to talk to people about!" Aimee said encouragingly, with a little bit of a mocking tone mixed in.
She looked around the room to see if anyone was still laughing. When she looked back at Blaire, her face was red and Aimee couldn't help but let out another laugh, "Sorry...it was funny you know."

Upon seeing her fellow Gryffindor stumble into the Greenhouses late, Susan resisted the urge to laugh loudly. Instead of laughing, she let out a huge snort, which she managed to somewhat cover up by coughing loudly. Although she knew that Gryffindors were supposed to stick together, she couldn't help but laugh at someone, anyone, who would have decided to make such a grand entrance. First impressions were important to Susan, and this girl had made a rather interesting one. She returned her attention to Keaira, waiting for her to continue with her introduction.

"Okay," Evie said turning back to the class, "We will finish the introductions at the end of class. Lets see where were we.....oh yes. Looking at this plant, how would you describe it? To elaberate, I mean, is it squishy, or hard? Is it light colored or dark? Telll me what you think." Evie flicked her wand and the plant flaoted higheer in the air so everyone could see it.
Evie was looking forward to see what her students were going to say or if they would even going to participate. She was still a little bit nervous, but that was slowly going away and the want to share knowlage was building up inside of her. She was so glad that the class was starting to get on the roll.

"It's springy and dark, a mass of writhing vines and tendrils." Alessandro said as he was making his observations of the plant. He remembered his notes:
Devil's Snare is a mass of soft, springy vines and tentacles. They have limited sensory perceptions such as the ability to feel pressure and touch. Using this sense, it wraps its vines around the victim, strangling it to death the more the victim struggles. The key is to relax and it won't kill you as fast. Devil's Snare is extremely sensitive to light and fire and prefers dark, and damp hiding places.
He was wondering exactly what the professor had up her sleeve for this lesson, as Devil's Snare was a common first year introduction, and the class was mostly comprised of fifth and sixth years who undoubtebly recognized the plant as well as he. He was wondering if she would be teaching them how to defend themselves properly against this particular plant, but then quickly wondered if that would be encroaching upon the DADA lesson plan.
He brought himself out of his thoughts and began to draw a Devil's Snare on his parchment of lengthy notes on said plant.
"Devil's Snare, Devil's Snare, Oh, what a deadly desire, Keep it in the dark, for it will shrink away from fire."
He hummed to himself softly the poem he had read somewhere during his studying.

Smiling at the professor's hastening of the class, he was glad that she'd realised how much time the introductions were taking up and had moved on. With a flick of her wand, the Devil's Snare rose into the air and gravitated steadily. Having learnt about the plant years ago, he could still provide a very good answer. He had learnt of it thoroughly in his first year, and revised it in the following years; he knew the plant well.
Seeing Alessandro speak up, he smiled, glad that someone had responded. Personally, Dylan disliked drawing any kind of attention to himself in classes, whether through dramatic late entrances or answering questions. Figuring he might as well, he took down a few, quick notes on the plant.

Susan recognized the plant immediately, as Professor McSteele sent it into the air. Susan was tempted to voice her opinion on the description, but Alessandro had beat her to it. She quickly scratched down the notes on Devil's Snare, very much an exact copy of the notes she'd taken in previous year. She severely hoped this was not all they would be learning today. Susan realized, as Herbology was not her best subject, that it might be good to take it slow. But O.W.L.S. are coming up, Susan thought reprimanding. It would probably do some good to learn something new this year.

Evie looked around at all the students faces. Her expression was shocked that Mr. Darko had said the exact thing that she had written down on her desk. After a few seconds, she finally admitted that she had planned this class very poorly. Obviously, they had already studied devil's Snare...that or Alessandro Darko was a true Ravenclaw.
"How many of you have already studied Devil's Snare?" Evie finally asked, then muttering to herself in French she said, " Je ne peux pas croire que j'ai fait un idiot de me sur mon premier jour dans la classe!" In translation that means 'I cannot believe I have made a fool of myself on my first day in class'

Susan raised her hand. As a fifth year, she had covered and reviewed devil's snare many a time before. She looked around the greenhouse, expecting the majority of the class to do the same. She wasn't particularly excited about new Herbology topics, but there was only so much review a girl could do. Susan had the trivial thought that maybe they would be learning something interesting this year, but she changed her mind. What good things ever happened Herbology? Susan couldn't think of a single thing, but then again, she didn't remember much from Herbology any way. Susan kept her hand raised and waited to see what Professor McSteele would say.
