The sun was just peaking when Zayne finally finished with his morning shower. He'd already been for his run, starting a little quicker than he usually would and pacing himself faster as well. He'd finished just as the sky began turning a bright orange from the sun reflecting on the clouds forming up in the sky to the east. The sight of the possible storm had made Zayne smile as he pulled his tee shirt after his run and made his way quickly back down to his dorm room. He had some extra credit work in Herbology to get started on, and it was necessary that he be down to the greenhouse not long after dawn if he wanted to catch the pods before they shriveled up beneath the leaves to hide from heat of the sun.
Almost scurrying around his dorm room to get dressed in his typical worn out jeans and an over-sized dark green tee and comb his hair back and out of his face for the only twenty minutes or so that it would stay put, Zayne finally rushed out of the lower levels of the Hufflepuff dorm area, intent on food. He turned a few corners, not bothering to climb to the upper levels and the Great Hall. He knew it was too early to catch breakfast there and he needed something quick. One last corner and the painting he was searching for finally came into view. Zayne jogged the last few steps and immediately reached out toward the odd depiction of fruit and ran his fingers in a tickling motion over the pear. He could help a small grin as the pear giggled - how often could one make a pear giggle? - and turned into a door knob. Zayne grasped the handle and turned, once again thankful for learning this handy little secret during his third year, opened the door and moved inside.
