He sat at a table in the back corner of the Three Broomsticks. He was waiting for Wysteria to meet him there, he had wanted to talk to her about what happened in the fifth floor corridor the other night. He felt that if anyone would understand, it would be his Shadow Warrior, his friend since that fateful day he came upon her under siege by Peeves.
He grabbed the mug of butterbeer in front of him and took a large gulp. He closed his eyes and just let everything soak in. It was almost healing to him being away from Hogwarts right then. The change in atmosphere from a dark and dreary castle to a bustling, bright Hogsmeade was definitely welcomed by Alessandro's weary and sleep deprived face.
He anxiously kept glancing at the door, hoping that she would arrive soon.

Wysteria walked briskly along the streets of Hogsmeade, her feet heading to the Three Broomsticks automatically. Wyst was glad that she and Alessandro would finally get the chance to discuss what had happened to him that night several days ago. The Headmistress's breakfast announcement was a bit unnerving, so it would be nice to reconnect with her Elemental Master, whether it would be a pleasant conversation or not.
As she opened the heavy wooden door to the pub, she spotted Alessandro in one of the more secluded corners. She made her way over and sat across from him as her black hair fell softly in front of her while she leaned in to speak with him.
"Well, are you going to tell me what you saw?" she asked, her green eyes not leaving his gray ones.
I felt horrible dread and fear that night Alessandro, you can't convince me that you saw anything lighthearted. She placed a hard on his forearm to show her support.

Alessandro shook his head. "No..." He responded to her verbally. "There was nothing light about what has been going on." He started. "It all stems from the Maleficus Obscurum. Ever since I read that incantation in the back of Chiaroscuro things have been different. I was possessed by some dark creature from the shadow realm, Dee was able to purge that from me, but something was left open..." He said darkly as he stared into her green eyes. He drew in a breath and then continued.
"Then we actually found the book, we found the actual Maleficus Obscurum, that helped us open a gateway to allow Dee to come through back into our realm. Remember that purple light....that hazy, purple light...." He closed his eyes tight and then opened them. "I can still see it Wyst....That light didn't go away...." He said sounding as if it was painful to still see that light.
He brought a hand through his dark brown hair and then over his face that ached for sleep. "I've been having nightmares....visions of the impending darkness that is falling upon us. I can't sleep, they come to me when I'm asleep. I fear that something wrong is going on inside of me....I don't remember things that I've done....just the other day I was in the Ravenclaw common room studying, and then the next thing I know, I'm standing on the ledge of a window in the Owlery....I mean, I think if I was going to go there, I would not be standing on the window ledge...you know?" He explained to her, his voice starting to shake with worry and anxiety.
"Which brings me to what happened in the corridor. I went into some sort of trance before everyone showed up. I can't remember exactly what happened but things went very bright, almost blinding light and I was speaking, but I wasnt speaking, you know? I caught bits and pieces of it, but for the most part I couldn't remember when you guys revived me." He explained. "But then I found this."
He pulled out a ripped piece of parchment that had what looked to be a poem on it. The handwriting was distressed and very erratic, not like Alessandro's neat print/cursive mix.
"This is what I was saying....this is what I said...." He pointed to the paper.
"Darkness dwells behind these walls, bringing about when the darkness falls, chaos of the wildest dream, severing life from light's sparkle and gleam."
"Wysteria....this is a warning....I don't think it came from sources of darkness..." He took a large swig of his butterbeer and looked at her awaiting her response.

Wysteria took the paper in her hand and read over it several times. She looked back up at Alessandro, slightly confused about what exactly he was trying to tell her.
"Alesandro, are you saying that YOU wrote this? I thought you said you felt..darkness inside you," she said, the words appearing to be forced from her mouth. If her Elemental Master was tainted, or was in danger of being turned, she would need help.
"This warning," she said, holding the paper in her hand, "you said it came from a place that wasn't darkness, but you say you're being possessed and you don't remember writing it...."
Then something clicked in her mind, her eyes lighting up, "Darko! Did you, could you have..." She lowered her voice and leaned in very close so she could be sure only he would be able to hear her.
"Was this a prophecy?" she asked, her eyes wide.

He looked around them hastily hoping nobody was listening in on their conversation and quickly withdrew his wand. "Muffliato" He mumbled as he cast the charm around them.
"I don't really know whats going on, Wysteria....there is darkness inside of me, I can feel it. I don't know how or why, but I haven't been able to close that link that opened up since we got Dee back." He said.
"I wrote that while I was in class...I was taking notes, and then when I looked down, I had written something I wasn't thinking about..." He said pointing to the paper. "And when I saw the words, it made me remember what happened in the corridor the other night." He said rapidly.
"This had to have been some kind of prophecy, a warning from the side of light! There are dark forces already within Hogwarts, its plain as the first line-- Darkness dwells behind these walls!" Alessandro took a breath and another swig of his butterbeer.
"Wysteria...I don't know whats happening....I'm so confused and scared...not being able to be in control....its really not fun." He said with wide-eyed sincerity.

Wysteria took a deep breath, trying to determine the best words to say. If it was true, and there were enemies inside Hogwarts...well, there were more problems than they anticipated.
"I can't imagine it's fun," she said, her green eyes softening, "I mean, I know what it's like to be overcome by feelings and...images that you don't want in your mind. You're frightened even to be around yourself." Wysteria seemed to be speaking to both of them at that point, since her eyes had become somewhat unfocused like she was talking to herself.
"Alessandro, I want to help you," she said, "and if there's something inside you that you want to close, we'll need to forge a telepathic link. Maybe I could close the link between you and whatever is causing you trouble."
Wysteria bit her bottom lip, slightly unsure what needed to be done in this situation. "We may need to bring in others to help, but either way," she said, putting her hand on his and giving him an encouraging squeeze.
"Either way, I'm here for you. I'll be here for whatever you need."

He listened to her speak about what he was going through, and detected through the tone of her voice and the way she was speaking that she may relate to him on this matter. It felt good to hear her say that she wanted to help, it made him feel less alone. He was tired of feeling the way he did and just wanted to get on with it. Every minute spent dwelling upon darkness pushed him further and further from realizing his potential as the Elemental Master of Fire.
Alessandro gave her a very greatful smile. He squeezed her hand back and closed his eyes.
"Thank you Wyst...you don't know how good it feels to hear that." He paused for a moment at the thought of bringing in others to help. "Dee..." He muttered and shook his head. "Dee tried to get the book away from me the other day. She was kind of unpleasant about the whole situation if you ask me. I got detention for it, but I think this is a different kind of detention." He shook his head again.
"Wysteria....we can't let that book come into contact with ANYONE else. Look what its done to me....thats why I refused to surrender it to D'rorah...out of fear that whats happening to me might happen to her." He said acknowledging the waitress as she brought him the check. He dropped a couple sickles onto the table as she walked away and he resumed looking at Wysteria.
"We have to destroy that book...." He said with ferocious determination as he stared straight into her resplendent green eyes.

Wysteria listened carefully to Alessandro's description of what had happened with Drorah. It disturbed her that something was taking control of him to the point that he wasn't acting normally. But she did not pass judgement...it could have happened to anyone. Her eyes remained encouraging as she continued looking at her Elemental Master.
"Yes, it must be destroyed...it's obviously too dangerous for anyone to have in their possession," she swallowed hard, her face firm with a determined air. The only question was, how would they destroy it?"
"Do you know how we could obliterate the book? Dark magic has to be destroyed by really powerful things, like a Basilisk or something. The only repellent for that is Pheonix tears," she mused, revealing unexpectedly some of the information she had gathered during her quest for vengence. But she knew Alessandro would probably take it just as part of her schooling since she was a year older than him.

"Basilisks....Phoenix Tears...." He looked at her funny. "those are gonna destroy a book?" he was confused.
"Fiendfyre..." He said as he mulled the thought of how the book must be destroyed over in his head. "If dark magic must be destroyed by something really powerful, then we could use Fiendfyre...." He said as if he had a revelation or something. "If I learn to control my element a bit more, I'm sure I could harness the power of Fiendfyre to destroy the book!" He exclaimed excitedly.
His happiness faded as he continued to think about how the book must be destroyed and then he remembered what D'rorah had said in the boys dormitory. He frowned slightly.
"Maybe we shouldn't get too hasty...." He began. "I'm starting to think we should talk to Dee about all this...maybe I might get hurt if we destroy the book...." he said softly as a shift in his emotions occurred.

Wysteria nodded slowly as Alessandro spoke. He seemed to be at war with himself even in the decision to destroy the book. She could sense uneasiness in him, and a prickly sort of unstableness that she associated with madness. A small sigh of pity was released from her lips as she closed her eyes, silently praying the he wouldn't succomb to the darkness inside him.
"Alessandro, I only suggested the Basilisk because it has very powerful poison..although procuring a fang or even a small bottle of poison would take a while. However, Fienfyre is extremely dangerous," she said, keeping her voice barely above a breathed whisper.
"If we used it, we'd have to know how to put it out very quickly. It can easily get out of control," she sighed, tapping her fingernails on the table. She was torn between trying to get the book destroyed as quickly as possible and the rational side of her that wanted a safe plan. Seeing Alessandro suffer made her queasy, but if they got rid of the book in a brash act it would all be for naught if they injured others.
"I know you're the Master of Fire but..." she hesitated, the words weren't forming correctly on her tongue.
"We need to have a backup plan if things go...awry," she said in a business-like tone.

Alessandro closed his eyes and rubbed his face. "Yeah, we should get some basilisk venom..." He said sounding really tired. "And you're absolutely right....I'm way too inept at my skills with fire to even TRY to attempt controling Fiendfyre..." He trailed off as he looked to the front of the Three Broomsticks.
He felt something strange inside of him as he gazed off into space and then snapped out of it. "Do you sometimes wonder why we're fighting?" He asked her looking her dead in the eye. "Sometimes it seems like this is all in vain, because deep down it feels like we're already buried." He said morosely as he sank his head and looked down at the table.
He drew in a breath and then stood up. "Wysteria...I...." He began but then stopped for a moment. "I'll see you back at the castle. I'm gonna go take a walk...I need to clear my head." He said before he turned and made his way toward the exit.

Wysteria felt a cold shiver go down her back as Alessandro asked her what the point was of fighting. He didn't seem quite like himself. He was burdened, confused, and looked almost defeated. As he headed toward the exit, she felt that she would have to say something and not leave him in this state alone.
She grasped his elbow so he spun to face her.
"I didn't mean to suggest ineptitude," she said, her eyes pleading, "I just..I wanted to take all the precautions. I never want anything to happen to you, or anyone who's innocent," she chose her words carefully, not sure what would ease him.
"If you want to go for a walk, that's fine but..." she sighed, looking down at the floor for a moment.
I'm scared for you. You don't seem like yourself Alessandro. Maybe we could just head back to the castle together, and I'll be quite on the way back to let you think. I just am unsure about leaving you in this state...alone.
The green eyes were soft, but her words were said in a stern manner.

Wysteria had caught his elbow. She was deeply concerned and that meant a lot to him, however he hated to be like this in front of people. He had no doubt in his mind that he was not himself lately, but he had to be alone.
"I know that you're worried..." He trailed off. But it's broad daylight and it feels good to be out of the castle. He resumed speaking. "I just want to take a walk to clear my head...I'll be alright, I promise." He said sincerely.
Thank you for caring Wysteria... He said mentally as he walked away quickly before she could hold him off again. He exited the Three Broomsticks and made his way for Hogwarts with mixed feelings in his heart and head. He was determined to straighten himself out before they attempted to destroy the source of his tribulations.
