Dien stumbled in through the door of his classroom, opening it wide. He went over to his desk and put his legs on top of the desk. He had a new Arithmancy calculator and a piece of paper, and he was trying it out. He wrote down everyone in his class' name on the board, and Three spaces where their numbers went. Name | Character | Heart | Social | Gat Soldier | * | * | * | D'rorah Philosophy | * | * | * | Dylan Cooper | * | * | * | Keaira/Alecto O'Connell | * | * | * | Alessandro Darko | * | * | * | Katherine Frost | * | * | * | Susan Matthews | * | * | * | Ryder Haunting | * | * | * | Ariana Angevin | * | * | * |
Then he wrote to the side, If not everyone is here, we will start when we get into deeper discussion.

Gat walked in slowly and glared at the teacher as he went. He walked to the very back of the class and sat in the corner. He liked sitting at the back, as most people won't be watching you.
"Good day Professor." He said with no enthusiasm in his voice. Though he did not like him, he was still and always was, polite. He took out his parchment and waited to write the title of the lesson. He then sat there waiting for others to enter. He did not enjoy being late. His anger had gotten control of him that day and he would not be able to concentrate in the class. Which was quite easy to notice.

Dien raised his eyebrow. "Lucky that you're the first one in. I'm surprised they haven't suspended you yet.. oh, and, trust me, you might not want to be the first one that Miss Philosophy sees." He sighed at him a bit angrily. Just the night before, Gat had attacked him, along with the help of another professor. He wrote up on the board, 'Your numbers and what they mean'. He then drew another chart to the side, numbers 1-9 and three other blanks after it. He wrote C, H, and S above the three blanks. They had enough room for about one sentence. He went back to his seat and sat down.

D'rorah walked in. Her gaze fell first to Gat Soldier. Repressing the urge to attack him, she strode to the front of the classroom, taking a seat in the first row. Of all the dirty betrayals she could think of, his was worst... the betrayal of one who was supposed to be a friend. The fact of being tortured endlessly and seeing him take great pleasure in it... after she had trusted him. She remembered him remarking once that he had no friends. No small wonder why, she thought to herself. "Good day, Professor Serlaen," she greeted politely as she took her seat.
Taking her notebook from her bag, she opened it and stared at the pages. She wasn't actually reading. She much preferred to keep her attention on Gat, even if she didn't look directly at him. She would not allow him the possibility of taking her by surprise.

Dien smiled. "Good day, Dee. You really don't need to watch for Mister Soldier, I will take the liberty of alerting you." He frowned. "This shall be a very interesting class today, shall it not?" He walked over to the door and looked outside for a while. "Hm... who's this?" he said nonchalantly. (Filler post! Yay!)

Ariana was walking down the hall when she saw the Professor to her next class. "Hello Professor um," She looked at her paper, "Serlaen, I'm Ariana Angevin. I'm the transfer student from the USA. Its nice to meet you" Said Ariana Smiling up at him. She wander what class would be like. She had never been to a Magical school before so everything was so new to her. She looked in side the class room, She saw Gat sitting in the back and Some other girl sitting in the Front. Gat looked upset or mad. Ariana wander Why though and was about to walk in when she heard something. She looked around and Saw nothing.

Making his way down a second floor corridor, Dylan was humming under his breath at an almost indiscernible volume. Turning the corner, he saw a figure standing outside the Arithmancy classroom and recognised the figure of Ariana. Approaching her, as well as the class, he said a quiet yet happy "hello." He passed her and entered the room. "Good day, Professor," he said happily, spotting only Gat and D'rorah already seated.
He shuffled himself along the front row and took a seat near Dee, sliding his satchel onto the table and extracting his required equipment and placing it before him. Dumping his bag onto the ground unceremoniously, he headed up a spare piece of parchment and said a small hello to D'rorah. Having missed the first class due to an error with his timetable, he was eager to catch up, hoping he hadn't missed anything vital in that first lesson.

Susan wasn't sure how she felt about Arithmancy. She entered the classroom on the fence about how she felt. She knew Arithmancy involved a lot of math and would be very interesting to learn. That was the good part. The class would prove very useful. On the other hand, Susan wasn't always good at math. ]
Susan looked around the class. She many familiar faces. D'rorah, Ariana, and Dylan were there already. Susan said a brief, "Hello." to the class and then addressed the teacher, "Hello, Professor Serlaen." She found a seat near the front. It would be easier to pay attention, Susan figured if she didn't have to stare at the backs of so many heads. She looked around the classroom once more. She was the only Gryffindor so far. Maybe she would be able to earn her house some points. Gryffindor had remained at zero for the last couple of weeks. Hopefully this would change soon.
Susan studied the chart on the board. She didn't know what to make of it. She got out a piece of parchment from her bag and a pencil from back home. For every other class it was fine to use quills and ink. For a math class, though, Susan would be needing a pencil and eraser.

Dien smiled as the kids came in. "Yes, hello. Hello," he said, as another went by into the classroom. He noticed a girl looking quite confused at the board. Five people were in his class so far. Out of ten. He sighed. "We'll be going back to the first lesson again," he said. "Sorry to those who were in the last class already. Though this time we will try to wait for everyone to get here. In the mean time, however, I suggest you get prepared and gather up your materials." he sat back down at his desk and rested his eyes. Too much was going on... last time he was teaching this class, he was almost entirely see-through and had a shimmer about him. Now he was practically corporeal. He put his feet on his desk, and leaned back. He slid around the pieces on an abacus. "Not really my subject," he said quietly, "but I'm good at it anyway."

Katherine entered the classroom. She the sinking feeling that she was somewhat late. There was only five or so people already in the class. It seemed to have the majority present already. Wishing she had gotten there a little earlier, Katherine took a seat closer to the front than the back. Katherine studied the chart on the front board. She was upset that she had missed the first class, but was determined to catch up as quickly as possible. Katherine got out her supplies and patiently waited for the class to begin.

D'rorah nodded in response to Professor Serlaen's remark about Gat. She had turned her half attention back to her notes when she heard Dylan come in and take a seat nearby. She looked over at him with a smile of recognition, not wanting to do anything more obvious, as she figured Gat would definitely inform the Mage about him if he realized...
She listened to the quiet noise around her as the other students began to arrive. As soon as Professor Serlaen mentioned that they would be going back to the first lesson, put her quill down. The first lesson had been a review for her, even the first time through. A barely noticeable scowl of irritation spread over her face, directed at the students who had not yet bothered to show for this class session. For her, this was just another waste of time she could better spend doing almost anything else. Deciding there was no use being annoyed with the situation, she quietly withdrew her abacus from her satchel and put it on the desk with her parchment. Perhaps while everyone else was working on the mundane task of finding their Character, Heart, and Social numbers, she would be able to work on something a bit more interesting.

Ariana watched as more of the students came into the class room. She Sighed and went to sit next to Gat as everyone else sat in the fount. "Hey Gat whats up?" Asked Ariana pulling her Quill, ink, and Paper out. She set them on the desk and looked at Gat. She then looked up at the bored and wander what the chart was for. She shook her head and sighed, How was she to under stand this. This was one class she had a Felling that she would Fail. Ariana Put her name at the top of the paper and Waited.

[glow=red,2,300]"Hey Gat whats up?"[/glow]
Gat was surprised to hear a familiar voice. She looked at the speaker and smiled.
"Not much. So, hows your day been." He asked politely. He was glad to have someone come that did not have a large grudge against him. He wore his long silvery Slytherin robe. His hair was now magically straightened and his brown hair was hanging over his face. He was surprised that she had recognised him. He brushed his hair back, which felt extremely wierd as he normally saw girls doing it a lot.

"it's okay could have been Better" Said Ariana looking at him. "I'm not sure if I will pass this class but I hope so, How well do you think you will do?" she asked looking at the bored and Teacher. She looked back down at her paper a saw that she had gotten Ink on the middle of her paper. "Oh you have got to be kidding me" She said madly as she crumpled it up and put in the bottom of her book bag. She Put her name at the top of other piece of paper she pulled out. She looked at Gat and Shook her head with a Smiled on her face.

"Well, I guess I'm kind of good at maths." He admitted.
"Why do you think you're going to fail?" He asked her with a slightly concerned look on his face. He had still not gotten his parchment out. He reached down and took his equipment from his rucksack and placed it on the desk. He then headed it up with "REVISION". He was not glad to be doing Arithmancy. Though he thought that if he skipped it he would lose house points. And Slytherin was in second place.
