The day was as wonderful as it could be. To Stella's standards, anyways. A cloudy sky played games with the sun, catching some of the golden rays that would fall onto the green and luscious earth. The slight breeze that always seemed to surround the lake mingled with her soft hair, carrying the strands onto her left shoulder and the scent of magnolia flowers into the wind. Stella sighed contently and soon chuckled at herself, feeling like a little foolish child just a moment before.
She felt a calm settling in her body. It had been so long since she had relaxed like this. It seemed as if her days and nights were filled with endless lectures and papers. She probably still carried the grime of the library on her face. The whispering breeze carried promises of pure hope and endless light. Oh, how Stella yearned for those! But she had been through too much to believe in a happy and carefree life. She believed in battle, in struggle, in toil, in pain. Without those, one could not realize how lovely life is.
Her melancholy thoughts made her body tense again. Stella sighed, this time in exasperation, and leaned heavily onto an oak tree. She feels a silent frustration growing inside her heart, but could not expel any of it. "For Merlin's sake, girl, what is wrong with you..." Stella grumbled to herself. She needed a distraction. Fast.
