The sounds of a person running up the stone steps soon stopped when the huge wooden door was flung open. Blaire came bursting through as soon as a twany owl landed on the window sill. "Hello Henry", she greted and hastily walked over, ignoring all the bird droppings that covered the floor.
After patting Henry on the head and giving him a treat out of her pocket, Blaire turned her attention to the letter and package that was tied to Henry's leg. Cursing her habit of biting her nails, she tried to dig into the expertly tied knots. "Finally!" She exclaimed when the mail dropped to the floor, free of the string.
Blaire thought for a split second of which piece of mail she should open up first. Grabbing for the package, she rippe the paper off and started to open the box.
((ooc: It's kind of stort but its here ))

Rays of morning sun shone through the tiny windows as Veranda made her way up the winding steps to the top of the West Tower where the Owlery was located. There was no particular reason for her visit, probably just to check how her owl was doing.
As she pushed open the huge wooden door serving as the entrance to the humid circular room, noisy tweets and screeches that filled the dropping and feather cluttered area reached Veranda’s ears. Veranda silently cursed the birds for making the racket, before realising that someone else was, too, in the room.
The curly golden locks of the girl fell down her back, catching occasional rays of sun every now and then as she moved, apparently trying to untie a knot on the parcel attached to a handsome tawny owl.
Veranda was just about to offer her some assistance when the girl finally managed to get the parcel off with an exclaimed “finally!” and tore the wrapper off. Veranda stifled her giggle a little, scanning the room to locate her own owl.
At last, she found it. The miniature frame of her baby snowy owl stood somewhere near where the girl was. Veranda walked lightly up to it, holding a piece of fruit in her hand. As she passed the Gryffindor, she politely greeted her with a “hi,” before turning her attention back to the owl.

Not hearing the door open behind her, Blaire finished taking the brown paper off of the package, revealing, to her disappointment, a box full of new bottles of ink. Blaire turned around and leaned back against the stone wall, glancing up and finally spotted a girl with dark brown hair passing her.
"Hi," She responded, placing a smile on her face and reconizing her from the corridors. Blaire was always a little hesitant when meeting people she had seen in Slytherin robes. With all that was in Hogwarts history between Slytherin and Gryffindor, she didn't know if she should shun all Slytherins or embrace them. Deciding that nice and embracing was the way to go she continued the conversation while picking up her letter off the floor, "I'm Blaire. You're...."
Henry the owl pecked at her robes, hoping that it would produce some more treats. Finally, Blaire gave in and reached into her pockets and took out another treat. Satisfied with two, Henry turned, streched his wings, and flew out the window. While waiting for the girl to respond, she watched Henry fly off and disapear over the trees.

As Veranda took the furry little owl into her hand and placed the fruit to its beak, the girl responded to Veranda’s greetings with a friendly “hi” and a smile. Though Veranda was a little surprised at the rather enthusiastic greeting, for she knew Slytherins and Gryffindors shared a great dislike for each other since a long time ago, she did not let on.
A moment or so passed and the girl, seeming a little hesitant, added “I’m Blaire. You’re…?”
“Veranda Nicole Fayeth. But just call me Vera”. She replied, not showing any sense of hostility. Somehow, Veranda felt friendlier today than she usually was. She watched as the girl watch her owl fly out of the window and away from sight. “Is that your owl?” Veranda asked, trying to strike a conversation. This probably was not the best topic to start with, and she felt as though she was asking the obvious. “He’s cute.” She added.
Veranda looked down at the snow white owl sitting on her palm, pecking greedily at the piece of fruit she had offered it. Waiting for the girl’s response, she absent-mindedly stroked her owl, tracing each feather with her emerald studded fingers.

“Veranda Nicole Fayeth. But just call me Vera”.
"Vera, thats an interesting name." She said as she turned back around from the window, "Yeah, thats my owl. Well, my dad seems to think that its just some silly owl we found in the barn. But Henry have become one of the family, even though Dad won't admit it....You're owls really cute. Whats its name?"
Blaire opened her letter the rest of the way, oblivious to the fact that she had just rattled on and on. The letter was much thicker than Blaire had realized, it went on for 7 pages. "Wow," She muttered under her breath flipping the pages. Her eyes caught things about one of her brother's getting thrown off a horse, her younger sister showing late signs of being magical and that she wanted to go to a small school they had back in the states.
"Ever feel like yourfamily is more interesting whenever you're not around?" She said smiling down at he letter.
((sorry I havn't replied in a while, was gone for a week))
