Leaning against the railing of his balcony, Tobi Knight gazed out onto the city. From far below where he stood, you could see him silhouetted in the starlight. He wore black dress pants that swayed around his legs in the cool night air. His shirt was unbuttoned, a white button-up with silver embedded lettering across the back that read his last name. He stood barefoot and admired the scenery y for what should be the last time.
“I might miss this place, who knows?” he thought to himself. He stood there a long time pondering on what this school school year might be like. He knew Hogwarts was one of the best magical schools in the magical world, and he knew it would be difficult to maintain his marks as high as he wanted, but he would do it.. He frowned at the thought of another summer having passed. Adulthood was drawing near. Just then a cloud lifted and the moonlight cast over him bathing him in silvery light.
In the night air, under the stars you could see him perfectly. Tobi’s hair was black. A shinny black that was almost blue. It was long and hung about his face so that he had to constantly toss it out of the way. His eyes were emerald green, they were almost illuminated in the darkness. His diamond studded earring glistened under the starlight, one of his most sentimental possessions.
Tobi turned from the balcony and headed back into his room. He slid open the glass door and stepped in, knocking over his coat rack. He bent down and picked up his black travel cloak and threw it around himself. He strolled across the room and snatched up his charcoal black wand from his bed and headed toward the door. He paused for a moment and took one more look around, and turned the handle.
Personality:
Tobi Knight, well mannered, humble, modest Tobi. His father always praised him on his actions and accomplishments as a child. He was the perfect example of what a parent wanted their child to be. Usually he was outgoing, energetic, easy going and fun loving. He had lots of friends both magical and muggle. Up until recently he had never shown many signs of anger or aggression. Tobi had become extremely short fused as of late. His boyish smile formed a hateful scowl a lot of the time.
His father had no idea why his son was becoming more and more unsociable and unfriendly. He chose not to intrude on his son so he acted as if nothing was wrong. Tobi stopped eating meals with his father and turned to spending more and more of his time away from the house. Even the neighbors who adored the boy felt the change in his lifestyle.
The day of Tobi’s 16th birthday was more eventful than his father could ever imagine. Having brought up a cake he made for his son, David Knight discovered that his son had been stealing some of the documents he kept in his room. When David asked Tobi why he had done such a thing, Tobi replied simply, “Where is my mother?”. Instead of answering the boy, or asking why he wanted to know such a thing, David just stood there, silent. Tobi waited for a second, then went out to his balcony.
History:
As an incoming 6th year to Hogwarts, Tobi Knight was excited for another year of magical studies. Having made a few good friends his years prior, he thought it would be nice to show some of what he had learned over the summer break. Tobi's fierce determination and unparalleled focus enabled him to learn and apply magical skills early on as a child.
Tobi was raised by his father in the wizarding world. His mother, a muggle, had been absent for the most part of his life. His father was enough for him as a boy, serving as both teacher and friend. They have a very close bond as if they were brothers. The only time Tobi and his father ever disagreed was when he brought up the topic of his mother. Tobi felt he should know more about her, his father did not.
Tobi’s mother Amber Blade did everything she could to forget about her son. Knowing about his whereabouts, wellbeing, or communicating with him would pose a threat to his life. She thought it was best that he never know about her or contact her. That could mean putting his life at risk. So she was never concerned with her old family as she lead a new life in a world among muggles.
Amber Knight, the mother of Tobi Knight and ex-wife of the pure-blood wizard David Knight, was a wizard hunter. Her occupation was the tracking and extermination of all things magical, using non-magical techniques. So it was very ironic that she fell in love with something she swore was ungodly. For two years she hid from her organization and led a secret life with David Knight, disconnected from her former life.
The two were madly in love. The bond between a muggle and wizard could not have been stronger. Together they bore a beautiful son and cherished his very existence. They named him Tobi Knight and viewed him as a bridge between the magical, and non-magical world. He was the spitting image of his father, in every way. From his dark black hair to his emerald green eyes. The were one in the same. But even as a baby he began to show the personality traits of his mother. He was energetic and full of life, the parents thought he had amazing stamina because when he started crying, which he rarely did, he could go for days.
On the boys third birthday his parents decided to take him to a nearby muggle park. It was the perfect day for a birthday, the perfect day for a picnic, but also the perfect day for a family to be torn apart. Amber Knight played with her son on the swing set while her husband watched from a nearby bench. The man looked at the picture of his wife and son and knew he wanted nothing else on this earth than to watch them smile. He watched them for a long while, until all the other kids and parents were gone. The park was completely empty, save for a man in a black dress-suit opposite the playground.
Amber noticed the man too and when she did, she froze. He eyes went wide and time began to slow around her. Literally. All around her things went still. Birds went silent, and her son stopped just short of her in mid-swing. Everything had stopped, except the man in the black dress-suit. He began to approach her very casually, as if everything was normal and time was not stopped around them. She stood up and straightened out the ruffles of her yellow sun-dress. The man was feet from her now.
“Its been a while Amber. I thought I wouldn’t see you again.” the man said as he finally reached her….
…Leaning against the railing of his balcony, Tobi Knight gazed out onto the city…
