Damning his need for Potions supplies, Dylan entered the gloomy Apothecary. He loved Potions, and while it may not be his favourite subject, it was definately near the top of the list. Moving into the store he felt a layer of dust beneath his feet and saw cobwebs all around him, getting the distinct feeling that perhaps this shop wasn't cleaned too often.
Roaming around the aisles and searching for the ingredients on his list, he found a few of them and crossed them off. He'd planned this trip rather well, noting down all of the stores he'd been low on and the quantities required for his school year, plus a bit extra just in case. Picking up a scoop, he shovelled a near-enough amount of dried Billywig stingers into a paper bag he'd located nearby, and moved off to find the bezoars.

Coming in rather reluctantly, Blaire looked around at the dirty room while a small brown haired woman came in behind her, "Now Blaire , honey, you get what ever you need...I'll buy it, your father would come and kill me if he found out that I made you buy everything." Blaire's great aunt's voice floated to her ears. I bet she would rather be sitting and watching television Blaire thought and rolled her eyes.
"Aunt Wendy, you don't have to do that. My daddy gave me this money to spend, not to keep in my pocket." Blaire looked at her with a little bit of resentment in her eyes. She appreciated all that her distant relatives were doing for her, but Wendy was taking her around like it was a duty and a burden.

Looking up, Dylan saw two women enter the shop; one significantly older than the other, who looked about his own age. Smirking slightly at the obviously unwanted predicament the girl appeared to be in, he wondered how it could feel to have such a bothersome relative following you around.
Shaking his head slightly in a small movement that might be perceived as amusement, he supposed it couldn't be the best feeling in the world. Continuing to collect the ingredients he needed, Dylan moved over to the container of daisy roots and accumulated enough to top-up his Potions kit before doing the same with the dead caterpillars nearby. The plastic and glass containers and jars everywhere gave the shop a very cluttered, cramped feel as he moved inbetween the narrow aisles, searching for the rest of the ingredients on his list.

Alessandro entered the Apothecary in hopes of finding a personal remedy to his sleeping disorder. It was dim and musty inside and it overwhelmed his nostrils with the aroma of Mallowsweet. He took a staggered breath as he slowly got used to the heavy air and moved into the center of the room. Rummaging through his bag, he withdrew a small list of ingredients for the potion he was intending to make. Ingredients:- Asphodel (Wormwood Infusion)
- Valerian Roots
- Sopophorous Bean
He scanned over his mixture of cursive-print handwriting and decided to look for the first ingredient. He made his way over to the nearest shelf and looked on. "Glumbumble....nope...don't have hysteria...." he mumbled ad he perused the contents of the shelf. He noted an empty space with the plaque entitled: Gillyweed and made a mental note of it to ask the shopkeeper if they had any in stock. Moving on to another row, he bumped into Dylan Cooper, fellow Ravenclaw. "Oh, Hey Dylan." Alessandro said in a calm manner that came off as if he had known Dylan all of his life. "What are you here for?" he asked trying to strike up a friendly conversation. He felt that the last one didn't go quite right and had hopes of rectifying the situation.

Hearing yet another person enter the musty store, he saw his dormmate, Alessandro. Being slightly on edge about this fact, he continued to search through the shelves, passing over Fwooper feathers and beetle eyes as he went. He saw Alessandro turn into his aisle out of the corner of his eye and thought it only polite to reciprocate the friendly advances. It seemed that the other boy had their previous encounter very much in mind, too.
"Hey," he said in a quiet voice. "I'm just topping up my regular Potion supplies," he explained, not meaning the school ones exclusively. He was in his fifth year at Hogwarts and still taking Potions, hence requiring the usual things. But he was also very intelligent and liked to learn about and practice concoctions of a more advanced level. Using his cauldron for N.E.W.T level mixtures often, he was well versed in almost all of the Potions taught at Hogwarts, not to mention a few others that might be frowned upon at a place of learning such as the wizarding school.

Dylan seemed to be a bit put off with Alessandro's presence there, which he attributed to their first meeting back in the dorms. It was a particularly stressful time to meet someone after being interrogated and assigned detention by a one Ms. D'rorah Philosophy, Shadow Warrior of Wind, and Ravenclaw Prefect. He felt the need to apologize for his hasty departure and unexpected burden of trust he thrust upon Dylan prior to his illicit leave from the dorms afterhours.
"Hey..." He began and cleared his throat. "I'm sorry if I came off as a git the other night back in the dorms..." he trailed off as he was mentally searching for the right words to explain. "I was stressed." He said looking at a jar of lacewings. He took another breath. "I just hope I didn't give you the wrong impression of me that night, I know I kind of asked you to trust me about leaving without any good explanation, and I've been meaning to tell you that I feel a bit crummy about the whole situation, and hope we can be friends." Alessandro said exhaling.
A jar of Valerian Roots caught his eye and he picked it up and inspected the contents to see if they were worthy of his extracurricular potions activity. It was no secret that he was miserable at potions, but he hoped that he could force himself to get better.

Hearing him begin what appeared to be an apology, he felt a bit embarassed by the whole situation. Not choosing to reveal this fact, he simply remained quiet as the boy finished. Looking up at him, he nodded simply. "It's okay, I understand," he said quietly. "Friends sounds good," he added, offering up a small smile.
"So... what are you doing in here?" he asked, his voice a bit happier than previously. His already relatively full hands were starting to be weighed down slightly; they had been full of things for quite a while as he had spent about twenty minutes searching for the latest ingredient on his list. Every ingredient had taken approximately the same amount of time to locate, the shelves so completely crammed with things, the containers labels so immensly faded that they were often unreadable. Yes, this was taking longer than he had anticipated and his arms were beginning to pay the small price.

Alessandro stared blankly at Dylan as if he was not expecting to be asked what he was doing in an Apothecary. "Errr, I'm uh..." He decided to go out on a limb and trust Dylan with the nature of his errand, after all, they were dorm-mates and maybe Dylan could use a bit of what he himself was after. "I'm searching for ingredients for a potion that I think will help me with my sleep problems." He said in a low voice. "As I'm sure you've noticed, I've been having really bad nightmares lately..." He said.
Alessandro noted that Dylan's arms seemed a touch full and that he was struggling to maintain everything at once. "Do you need any help with that? I can hold some stuff for you so your arms don't fall off...." He offered with a small chuckle.

Hearing the delayed response, he smiled weakly. He noticed that his dormmate was being honest, or at least he thought he was, the excuse being a fairly acceptable one. Producing a small smile at this thought, he nodded, having noticed numerous times that Alessandro was having trouble sleeping of late.
"Oh... Nah, I'm okay," he said, declining the offer with a small, complimentary laugh. "Thanks, though. What are you looking for? I still have to find the ever elusive Boomslang skin," he said, smiling despite the commonly known use of this particular ingredient.

"Well...this was on the list." He said holding up the jar of Valerian Roots. They seemed fit for purchase after his inspection. "I still need to find Sopophorous Beans, Asphodel, and Wormwood." He said as he referenced his list. He frowned as he thought more and more of his potionmaking skills.
"Well here's Asphodel..." He said as he looked to the shelf oposite the one he had found the Valerian Root in. He turned toward the shopkeeper and called over. "Where do you keep the Wormwood 'round here?" He asked somewhat loudly.
The shopkeeper looked up from the counter and croaked out his response. "It's over there! Under the Boomslang Skin in the next aisle over!" He shook his head and resumed whatever it is that he was doing.
Alessandro nodded to him and then turned back to Dylan. "I guess that solves your problem too then, eh?" He said smiling and proceeded to move to the next aisle for the Wormwood. Thankfully he didn't have to search too far for the Sopophorous Beans as they were right next to the Boomslang Skin Dylan had been looking for. Alessandro wondered whether the Apothecary had any form of organization at all as he saw no trend in where things were kept and the manner they were kept in.
"This place could use Dee's touch..." Alessandro said to Dylan as he imagined that D'rorah would have every shelf labeled alphabetically and by common use.

Smiling at the convenience, he was glad that Alessandro had questioned the shopkeeper. Dylan never liked to, personally. He laughed lightly at his comment and moved around to the next aisle with his dormmate and found the remaining item on his list.
Smiling at the mention of D'rorah, no matter how 'in passing' it may be, his smile became more genuine. Having seen with his own eyes the influence that Dee had had on Ollivander's wand shop; he could only imagine what she might do with this disgusting shop. "Anything else you need to get?" he said quietly, ready to pay and moving over to the counter. Gently lowering the pile of bags and plastic containers onto the dusty top and reaching for his money pouch to generate the exact change; he had calculated the total in his head.

While the boys, talked she had been over arguing with her aunt. She had overheard the conversation and was half tempted to ask them for help as well... she did need a couple of friends.
Finally finding what she needed her and her aunt walked up to the counter and placed everything there. Blaire wondered foolishly if her aunt was going to put the bottle of unicorn flesh, that she had dropped in her pocket, up on the counter.
"Come on Blaire, honey." Her aunt spoke again. Half gnoring her, half ignoring the rest of the world, Blaire walked towards the door with the intentions of trying to go to a store on her own. However, when she had almost reached the door she bumped into the two boys that she had been evesdropping on

Alessandro followed Dylan to the counter as they had finished searching for the ingredients that they needed. Dylan dropped his stuff on the counter first and Alessandro waited patiently as Dylan appeard to be counting out exact change. When it was his turn next, he set down the items according to the oder on his list. The shopkeeper eyed the items and then looked at Alessandro with a scrutinizing gaze. "Draught of Living Death, eh?" He croaked. "You look like you could use a dose, son..." He said as he rang up the ingredients. Alessandro blushed as he dropped several sickles and a couple galleons onto the counter, swooped up his shopping, and turned on heel to move away from the shopkeeper.
"I don't much care for that one..." Alessandro said to Dylan rolling his eyes in reference to the shopkeeper. All of a sudden somebody bumped into him, knocking his things to the ground. He turned to see that it was Gryffindor girl. "Excuse me...my fault." He said as he bent down to pick up his stuff. He looked up at her and tilted his head. "Hey...you're that Texan girl who burst into Herbology late!" Alessandro exclaimed with a smile from his crouched position.

Nodding in thanks as he packed his shopping into a brown paper bag, he waited for a few moments while Alessandro conducted his own transaction. Beginning to walk out with him, he produced a small smile at his comment about the shop assisant, who had smelled a bit too funny for Dylan's liking. "No, I agree," he said quietly, nearly to the door.
Before they could reach it, Alessandro's things were scattered on the floor, and a vaguely familiar face was seen to be the cause. At his dormmates words, he realised where he'd recognised her from and bent down to collect the small jar of Valerian roots that had come his way.
Choosing to remain quiet for the moment, he let the two interract, now reaching for the Asphodel. Righting himself, he saw that she still with her aunt, though appeared to be attempting an escape when she had collided with his fellow Ravenclaw

"Oh, gosh! I'm so sorry!" She said to the guy she bumped into and bent down to help him pick up his things. Her face was already turning red. When the young Ravenclaw boy made the comment about her being the one that 'burst into Herbology late!' Blaire could have died right there.
"Yeah, that was me. I'm always doing these things, I'm such a clutz," She shugged her shoulders and smiled weakly to try and make it a joke. I knew everyone would remember that! She thought. "I'm Blaire, by the way."
