Paragraph Format: Alessandro Orion Darko stands tall at 5 feet and 7 inches. He isn’t the tallest male in his family, nor is he usually amongst the company of his peers and or friends. He doesn’t feel intimidated by the fact that he isn’t as tall as he’d like, for he believes that he is compensating in other areas, such as his enhanced mental faculties. Alessandro’s eating habits are by far the most interesting. He loves to eat, but it doesn’t show much in his form. Weighing in at 130 pounds, one would think he should eat a bit more to put some meat on his bones. This is hardly the case. Alessandro’s body definition could be considered athletic, but by no means is he an Olympian. He bears a natural muscular definition which compliments his size perfectly; he’s not too bulky to where his clothes are ready to fall apart at the seams, and he’s not too scrawny to where they hang off of him like they would off a hanger.
At birth, Alessandro retained a light brown hue to his hair, when shining in the light, looked like he had flaxen gold strewn through it. As he grew, his hair began to darken progressively and he eventually lost that golden glow that almost likened him to an angel. Now, the antithesis of short, for he always wears it long, and about his face, the hue is a rich, dark mahogany. When sunlight strikes it just so, it almost has a fiery corona, illuminating all of the vibrant undertones of a reddish tint that secretly dwell amongst the dark brown. He wears it down most of the time, due to its length, and often sweeps it off to either side, which usually obscures one eye or the other. It’s usually never combed through or brushed, but only adjusted by the hands. Only on special occasions such as balls, or formal events will he run a comb through, and perhaps some product to give him a sharper edge.
In addition to having dark hair, his Italian heritage would most definitely cause him to have slightly darker skin than the average Caucasian. Since his father was Italian, and his mother, English, a the blend of skin colors left him with a most favorable hue; that which he likens to “Caramel” although he isn’t thatdark. He often refers to himself as the Italian Stallion, or having “Caramel-macchiato” skin.
He favors fitted clothing, not tight. Fitted in his opinion means complimenting the natural physique of the individual. He shops at Muggle stores online when back at his home, or his mother will make trips to the U.S. to shop and bring him back clothes from his favorite stores that he had access to while they lived there. He became very into the American Eagle/Abercrombie&Fitch styles, and usually that’s what he wears, but is not restricted to. He likes dark colors such as navy’s, maroon’s, and hunter/forest greens. To compliment these colors, he always finds something else to layer with that is a shade or two lighter, something like a down vest, or a jacket, tee shirt to be worn underneath a button down, etc. The style of clothes he likes include boot cut jeans (dark wash, and medium, he rarely wears a light wash denim), western shirts, v-neck sweaters, fitted T-shirts, v-neck shirts. His choice of footwear ranges greatly as his closet back home is a mini-kingdom of shoes. He likes harness boots, demi boots, sneakers, flip-flops(which he mainly wears), and tennis shoes.
Personality: Alessandro is a rather complex individual. At first glance, one could describe him as shy and tentative. Truth be told, he doesn’t have a great time meeting new people and always prefers to meet people in situations where he is accompanied by people he knows or friends, for he uses that as a crutch. However, Alessandro is old enough to realize that he needs to get over such silly bouts of intimidation and will prove willful over his inhibitions and step up and introduce himself to someone after a thorough mental battle with himself. On a completely different note, Alessandro can sometimes surprise himself with his boldness and will do things that are completely uncharacteristic of his predominantly shy nature. Those that he has gotten to know will see a different side to him, a more fun-loving, and wild personality when the timing is right. Alessandro was always taught to put others before himself, but is not restricted from periods of egocentrism.
Only a couple close-knit friends are in his heart of hearts. The people that he has come to grow connected to over the years at Hogwarts still prove to be good, close friends. He has trouble letting just anyone in, and that stems from his tentative personality. He doesn’t want to allow himself to care for people and then get his emotions stomped all over.
He is slightly arrogant in the most innocent way imaginable. He prides himself on having a vast knowledge of magic and spells, and is quite proficient in his spellcraft, and most often times he can come off as a little conceited when referring to his experience and success rate. Classes come easy to him for the most part, and he sometimes comes off as a know-it-all when called upon to answer a question, for his explanations are rather verbose, but very informative. He is very proud of his accomplishments. Alessandro has a quick temper, and while it takes a moment to fire him up, once provoked past a certain point, he will retaliate.
He is a very outspoken individual when it comes down to it, he knows how to lay on the charm real thick, as he has a way about him with words. He tries not to show off, but ends up doing it anyway without realizing he's doing it. He can be a touch competitive if someone of a complimentary nature befriends him. He always needs to feel adequate and on top of things. He generally is a calm individual, with flares of emotion from time to time. Although he‘s pretty much in control, he can be spontaneously uptight and erratic. Its all in how he's approached. UPDATE: Due to the series of events which have occurred at Hogwarts during his Fifth year, he has become somewhat passive aggressive, and bitter.
History: Upon entry to Hogwarts, he was banking on being a Ravenclaw. Although he had heard stories of the sorting hat placing students in other houses than that of their parents, he was optimistic. His mother was a Ravenclaw and she always regaled him about the talents and successes of her house. Never a dull moment as she had put it. He had gotten his wish and was sorted in Ravenclaw house. For a moment, the hat was considering on placing him along with the members of Slytherin house. He begged against this and the Hat acquiesced. His first year went really slow, as he has a thirst for knowledge, he wanted more and more and could not wait until next year to advance. He made a couple of friends throughout the year, and they together helped each other out with their shortcomings.
His second year, he was wild about the Dark Arts. He not only wanted to know defenses, he thirsted for offenses as well. He wished whole-heartedly that the professor would have them practice a couple of the forbidden curses, but that was a no go. He only demonstrated and threatened anyone who dared use one while in class and that if anyone was caught using one against another Hogwarts student, that they would be expelled. All-the-more, he still loved that class. Potions was beginning to demonstrate itself as a weak link in the academic chain for Alessandro. He had trouble concocting simple potions and often had a devastating effect when taken. He decided to work on strengthening other areas of his education.
In the third year, he had a couple of run ins with some bullies from Slytherin, no matter how long ago the tradition had died, it still never failed to revive itself. Not saying that all slytherin are bullies, but these lot were just flat out mean. They teamed up against Alessandro in the corridors provoking him with spells and jinxes, and when he finally defended himself, he was caught by a professor walking by at the wrong time as three slytherin students were suspended in mid-air by their ankles at his wand-point. He had faced detention for that in the dungeons with a rather unsavory professor he did not like to be around. Thankfully the turnover rate for staffing cast that teacher out of the bunch. This year he began showing an increased interest in transfiguration.
Finally the fourth year rolled in and Alessandro was eager more than ever to come back to Hogwarts. His mother and his step-father seemed to be bickering a lot more lately and he found himself the scapegoat for his step fathers vexations. While away, he was given a copy of Guide to Advanced Transfiguration, the sixth year transfig. book, by the current Transfiguration Professor who recognized his flourish for the course and told him that he may be placed in the advanced class upon his return and his scoring on the advanced placement test. The whole summer he studied as hard as he could on everything. He really wanted to make an impact that year.
Now his fifth year, he had yet to return to Hogwarts as he was still on summer holiday. He already had gotten in trouble once for using magic outside of school as an under-ager. It was purely an accident and was just practicing the words and pretending his finger was the wand when the alohomorra charm actually worked without usage of his wand. It boggled him when he received a warning from the Ministry of Magic stating that if he were to use any more magic outside of school, he would be denied to continue his education at Hogwarts. Not really understanding what happened, he couldn't determine why the spell had worked without his wand. His step-father was furious and received a lengthy session of ranting from Hewlett as he chastised him for breaking rules. He did not say a word out of fear that he may break the rule again and transfigure his step father into a toad. As the summer drew to a close, he packed his trunk up and eagerly anticipated his departure from Kings Cross Station, platform Nine and Three Quarters.
He had arrived at Hogwarts that year under the impression that things would be somewhat similar to the previous years. Little did he know that a war was brewing and on the verge of spilling out onto the grounds of the school. A dark presence had made its home in the Forbidden Forest, threatening the safety of the school. He had made several new acquaintances that developed into deep and meaningful relationships with several people from different houses, and even discovered a very well kept secret about himself. He was the Elemental Master of Fire, and he played a pivotal role in aiding the forces of light to vanquish the evil of the dark shadows.
