OOC Easter Break
"For heaven's sake Megan.. you're not going to a funeral!" Carly Devlin remarked with a snappy tone as she glared down at her younger sister's face. Carly Devlin, nee De Winter, was taller than most women and lean to the point of being gaunt. Her short spiky dark hair assisted with the boyish looks and, had it not been for the feminine features and the gentle swell of her breasts, she would have been mistaken for a man. Megan glanced up at the whiplash tone and sighed inwardly, wondering why Carly persisted in taking this view. She was only thinking.
"We're meeting my husband's family and his friends.. I don't ask you very often and I'm sorry we don't get much of a chance to talk, but for merlin's sake..." The older woman slowed down and with a visible effort stopped herself talking. About them, the usual bustle of the Leaky Cauldron continued with only the scarcest attention being paid to the two dark haired females. Despite the age difference, it was obvious that they were sisters and of the De Winter family, there was little mistaking the dark hair and lean frames.
"I'm only thinking..." Megan finally managed to say, realising that she should fill the gap in conversation with something constructive. "I didn't mean to look so annoyed."
"Well you should try and do something about it then!" Carly snapped back, unaccountably piqued that the latest member of the family could be so introspective. "Smile at least once..."
Megan nodded, the long hair softly drifting across her face as her head moved and she attempted to look happy. She didn't mean to be so miserable looking, but she found it hard to talk to her older sister who had already left home, married and had two children. Carly seemed to sense her discomfort and attempted a reassuring smile. "Look it'll be okay... go and get yourself a butterbeer and some chocolate!" She handed over a small stack of galleons.
"I'll be over here!" With a concealed sigh of relief, Megan left her sister and headed across the bar hoping to bump into someone she could talk to.
