The door clinked lightly as Mami let herself into the dark tavern, the shrunken heads grumbled unhappy at being awoken, but she ignored them for the most part as she closed the door behind herself. She made sure the door was closed securely behind her, keeping the cold out as she made her way to the counter. Her black leather platform boots thudded across the floor as she made her way across the room, standing 5'6 in them. She hung her coat up out of the way and set her school bag beneath the counter, taking an apron from the wall.
She quickly secured it around her waist, not bothering to cover her top with the thing. Her black, orange stitched pants looked odd under the dingy off-white apron, the chains with their no-catch charm jingled lightly as she walked around. She was wearing a long-sleeved bright blue and black stripped shirt that could be seen underneath a short-sleeved black wool bodice with black opal buttons and bone-lace along the sleeves, v-neckline, and the base, by both the arms and the neckline. Her hair was tied-up in two large buns on either side her head, like overgrown pigtail-like bubbles of hair. She'd put her hair up like that so it wouldn't get in her way, no matter the task she was required to do.
Apron on, she made her way to the fireplace and squatted down, it seemed a bit dirtier than a fireplace should be, she cast a quick Tergio before reloading it with fresh wood. She lit the fire easily and then moved on to scourgify the floors, tables, chairs, stools, and the counter, as everything seemed to have an old stick film over them. She flicked her wand again, lighting the light fixtures that were strewn about the tavern before she turned to quickly familiarize herself with the beverages and start baking breakfast treats that had been prepare the night before.
She hoped there wouldn't be too many people wanting eggs or bacon with their ale or beer, as she wasn't very good and cooking European food yet. She was sure that she'd perfect it sooner or later, but still, the task was daunting.
She looked around, making sure everything was in order before moving to flip the sign from closed to open. She then started looking around for something else to do while she waited for her first morning customers. She decided that while she waited, she would wash the windows so that they were no longer encrusted with years worth of grime. That decided, she found herself some extra strength wizarding window cleaner and several durable rags to beginning the scrubbing.[/size]
