So I was sitting here bored, like always, when an idea bug bit me. I had been looking at my poetry on Poetry.com when I noticed an icon ‘Publish your own book’. The icon leads to a site that will help you set up and publish your own book of poetry, but that got me thinking.
Wouldn’t it be fun to publish a book of well edited, short, fan fiction, Harry Potter stories?
So this is what I am thinking, I know there are tons of sites with tons of stories on them, but what if I could get people to give me new stories, just for this book? No AU, nothing from Harry’s point of view, could be past, present or future, as long as it sticks with the pre-existing set-up. G to PG-13
Authors who want their stories featured need only send a copy via email to me. The heading should have the name they want as author, the title, their email. If they want an about the author page, that should be included. If they want to add a ‘thank you’ note to J.K., that should be included as well.
Artists who want their art featured need only send three or four pictures they would like to be included via email to me. They should be black and white, as it is way expensive to publish colored pictures. If they want an about the artists page, that should be included. If they want to add a ‘thank you’ note to J.K., that should be included as well. Don't worry about the cover art, as I plan on using the Hogwarts crest.
It is not cheap to publish books, but luckily, the more books you publish, the cheaper they are. I think $20 for your stories inclusion seems fair, as you get your own copy. Authors’ pages and ‘Thank you’ notes fees will be on a case by case basis judged by length.
One book will be given to J.K. Rowling as a gift from her fans. And money left over (which I doubt would be much, but who knows) will be donated to the HP Alliance. These books are not for sale, and there will be disclaimer in the front of the book stating the same thing every fan fiction site states.
