As Professor O'Neill had dismissed the class, D'rorah quickly and quietly gathered her things. She did not wait for the textbooks to be given out, knowing that she was not actually enrolled in the class and quite certain she had no free space in her time to add it. They did look interesting... but any academic pursuit made for the sheer sake of interest would have to wait until after NEWT's... and possibly after these miserable Shadow Wars were over. If, indeed, they had any sort of favorable outcome at all.
She pondered over the class she had just watched, judging the new Professor to be more than adequately competent in her subject area. D'rorah could not recall having ever seen a class of the like for divinations. Though, for the briefest flicker, the Professor seemed to have shown some hidden sadness in the subject herself. Perhaps that would come out over the course of the year.
She stood near the wall now, waiting to see Kai emerge from the classroom. She was intent on continuing their introduction, just as she had indicated in class. Something about the new student intrigued her. Though, what it was she couldn't quite say. The gloves, first of all, had sparked her interest. She wondered what they covered... or whether it was some sort of odd element of his personal style. The last seemed unlikely... even from their brief introduction, Kai hadn't struck D'rorah as the sort to add odd touches to himself in order to be noticed. If he were, the gloves likely would have been far more ostentatious. There was also a very calm, gentlemanly sort of air about him, as though he were... not really stoic, but simply flowed in whatever direction nature happened to take him without raging against the currents--a certain gentleness. It was a keen contrast to D'rorah. Though she strove at all times to appear passive and unemotional, she knew few would call her gentle. No, typically her own adjectives were "cold" and "calculating"... "logical". That was what people saw when they saw her. Even though she maintained a blank facade to the vast majority of the world, she could unemotionally assess her actions... even killing when the need arose. Of course, in a war, it was useful to be able to deal with such matters logically and rationally.
She stepped away from the wall as she saw Kai emerge from the classroom and moved to fall into step beside him. "[blue]Mister Jahnavi,[/blue]" she greeted. "[blue]Allow me to refresh my greeting from earlier. Upon hearing of your arrival I had hoped we might soon encounter one another. I understand you have been appointed as a prefect for Hufflepuff house? I do not know if you have already met the other prefects. I, of course, am a Ravenclaw prefect.[/blue]" There was no boast in her statement. She said it as plainly as if she had said the walls were made of stone, simply running down the list of introductory details that might be the gateway to conversation... which would in turn offer her an opportunity to examine what about Kai had piqued her interest.
