Match winner: Hufflepuff Score: Gryffindor - 150 Hufflepuff - 190 Gryffindor MVP: Lydia Nowan Hufflepuff MVP: Mike Kelley
With the Captain of Gryffindor recognising a not-so-great Seeker and a good team of Chasers, her team plan led to a good fight from the lions. Hufflepuff scraped through the game with a few goals from their Captain and a good catch from their Seeker, with Mike Kelley also managing to prevent a lot of extra goals.

This was the beginning of it all. And Lydia Nowan couldn't be more happy with it.
She'd spent the whole year at school preparing for this match. Everyday after classes, when weather permitted (and sometimes even when it didn't) Lydia was out practicing. Quidditch was what she lived for; and if everything fell into place, it would also become her career. And now began the test of her strength, endurance, and teamwork skills. It would be a tough fight, but that was what was so thrilling about Quidditch to begin with. What fun was a game if you hardly had to exert yourself to win? She flew out onto the pitch, knowing that her teammates would soon follow. For the most part, she was proud of them. Although she knew that her seeker wasn't exactly up to par with the rest of the team, everyone else had shown quite good skills at practice, in Lydia's opinion. She'd pushed them hard; harder than usual. Although she wasn't particularly rude at practices or anything, she'd demanded a lot more from them. And she respected her teammates for performing so well under hard conditions.
And now, she had her game face on. The usual positive, fun-loving, troublemaker that appeared at practices and classes was gone now, replaced by a cougar ready to hunt. Lydia knew well of her own weaknesses in the sport; over-aggressiveness being one of them. And now, she had to pay extra attention to this flaw. She needed to remind herself, that a few gruesome fouls, and she could maybe be suspended from her captaincy and perhaps even the sport itself. This thought was terrifying to the sixth year Gryffindor and served as a good motivator to play nice...even if she sometimes got a little too close to the line.
Here we go, Lydia thought to herself, Here we go.

When Tommy had first signed up for the Gryffindor quidditch team, it had been with great apprehension. He had barely any experience but loved the sport. One of his fellow first years had seen him fly one time and persuaded him to put his name down. But now it was actually time for a match, he was starting to regret his decision. Playing for his team, in front of all those people... What if he messed up? He was a decent player, but not the best. And their captain was usually nice, if a little demanding... but he didn’t want to face her afterwards if he missed an easy goal. When he got nervous, he could easily fumble a simple catch.
Entering the pitch, he clutched his broom tightly, trying not to look at all the people in the stands. Without a lot of money, he’d been forced to use a school broom. It wasn’t as bad as some of them, but compared to some of the brooms on the pitch today it would be quite slow and sluggish. He’d just have to make do – there was nothing he could do about it. Mounting his broom, he was quickly soaring into the air to join Lydia and the other players. So long as he concentrated, he should be fine, he told himself firmly.
