The days at Hogwart's were proving themselves, as always, to be very long. With her free time devoted to Shadow Realm matters and a lot of her attention recently devoted to a certain Ravenclaw boy, D'rorah had found herself in need of a bit of privacy and meditation. She had given up on meditation in the common room long ago, finding far too much noise and far too many people who were willingly to brazenly interrupt her spare time.
Gathering her bathing accoutrements, she ventured upstairs one level, to the fifth floor to take advantage of the Prefect's bathroom. Relieved that no one else was around, she poured a scalding hot bubble bath into the enormous tub and disrobed before slipping into the steaming water.
A soft sigh escaped from her lips as she rested her head against the edge of the tub and allowed the hot water and lightly scented foam to wash away some of her stress.

The past few weeks Wysteria's mind was whirring like a blurry tilt-o-whirl, trying to make sense of all the information that had come her way. Seeing Darko pale and knocked out, nightmares feeding her already nervous tenions rising up as knots in her shoulders. Deciding that a trip to the prefect bathroom might make her feel a bit more relaxed, she packed up her homework for the night and walked one floor downstairs to the bathroom.
She hadn't expected anyone to be there at that late hour, but was slightly surprised to find Drorah sitting contented in the large tub. Wyst decided it would be slightly unnerving to approach her without first making her presence known.
"Well, it looks like we had the same idea," she said smiling as she walked over to the edge of the tub a few yards away from Drorah. Wysteria was not used to a public bath, and decided to err on the side of caution by setting herself several paces away from her fellow prefect. Disroing discreetly, she slipped into the tub and played with the bubbles absentmindedly.
"So, what's new with you?" she asked, smiling in a mocking sort of way that one gives to a friend with a shared secret.

D'rorah had not heard Wysteria's silent approach as she luxuriated in the roam, so when she heard her speak, she started just a bit. Immediately recognizing a familiar voice, she calmed a heart that had skipped a beat and allowed herself a smirk.
"Yes, the same idea indeed," she agreed. "I had never taken advantage of this room before and thought perhaps tonight would be an opportune time." As she spoke, she discreetly allowed her self to sink lower so that the foam rose to her chin, hiding the few scars that slithered up her neck.
Her eyes remained closed until she felt a ripple pass through the water signifying Wysteria's entry into the tub. Giving her time to get situated, she finally opened her eyes and laughed at the question.
"I suppose several things are... new," she replied. "Ever since you and the Professor found me nearly unconscious and brought me back to Hogwarts--something I never properly thanked you for, by the way, so allow me to do so now--I have been once again busy with my translations. I managed, in finding a new research partner, to find the true Elemental Master of Earth, and." She shifted a bit nervously as she considered how to continued, having never had this sort of conversation before. "Well, simply suffice it to say that I am not quite as emotionless as I might have once imagined myself to be," she finished dryly. "Perhaps you have met Mister Cooper? Ah well, regardless, he nearly completes our puzzle... when we finally discern who the remaining Shadow Warriors are, we will have the picture completed."
She breathed deeply, allowing a long exhalation to escape. "And what of yourself? What is new with you?"

Wysteria nodded her head as Drorah went on, listening to her activites of the past few days. So they had found the Master of Earth? Well, this was promising indeed. And something in her slight nervous giggle made Wyst smile, although a soft pain went across her chest as the look in Drorah's eyes reminded her of the time spent of Jeffrey. She smiled at Drorah, not wanting to show any sort of discomfort, lest she think that she did not approve of the new romance.
Wyst took a moment to watch her fingers prune as the aromas in the room allowed her muscles to relax. She breathed a heavy sigh and tried to escape from the tensions of the Shadow Wars, quite forgetting where she was and just enjoying thr warm feeling of the water. After what was probably several minutes, Wysteria spoke to Drorah again.
"Well, I'm glad to hear that you're doing some socializing outside of your normal circle," she said. "And having another Elemental Master will benefit the group greatly."
She took a preganate pause, trying to decide if the next statement should be said to disrupt the tranquility of the moment.
"Any news about the Mage?" she asked, trying to make her voice casual.

D'rorah thought for a moment about Wysteria's question before shaking her head quietly. "No, I do know that Mister Soldier and Professor Spade seem to have allied with her. Of course, as there is only my own word to incriminate either one, and as my memory was unquestionably modified, the Headmistress refuses to hear my call to have either one dismissed or expelled."
She shifted a bit, trying to find a slightly more comfortable position. "I cannot be certain whether I trust her or not... she was so helpful when I was brought back and placed in the infirmary, but Professor Serlaen seems to believe that she may have been the one who modified my memory." She stopped, not usually one to reveal her own uncertainty, but knew that the others deserved to hear any information she could offer if they were to join in this fight... even her uncertainty. If she could not trust them, she would never be able to expect them to trust her.
"Miss O'Connell will be leaving for a spell to train in China. Until my own injuries are fully recovered, I thought it unwise to train her myself... though, I would greatly prefer to do the training," she added. "We all should be training together, really... after what happened in the forest that night..." Her expression hardened, a scowl briefly crossing her face before it settled back to its normal state of indiscernible indifference. "I told Professor Kade we should all remain together."
She took a deep breath and made an effort to relax her muscles, finding that she had become somewhat tense as she spoke. She briefly considered telling Wysteria of her encounter with Professor Spade, but decided she was not yet prepared to reveal it to anyone.

Wysteria considered Drorah's comments carefully as she relaxed in the bath's aromas. She spoke only when she was sure that Drorah was finished.
"The idea that the Headmistress would modify your memory is silly," she said, trying to shake off the nervous feeling that had crept into her stomach at the mention of that idea.
"Honestly Dee," she said, "if we can't trust the Headmistress, who can we trust? It's not like a few decades ago, when Voldemort had control of the Ministry and everyone thought Snape was the Dark Lord's minion. This is Caira LaPointe, a former Hufflepuff for crying out loud!" she said, laughing dryly.
She began rubbing her shoulders, loosening the knots that had already begun to fade from being in the bath for a few minute's time.

"I would like to agree," she replied simply, referring to Wysteria's remark about trusting the Headmistress. "However, now that the concern has been raised by the others, I feel it would be unwise to dismiss it without the proper caution." She took a deep breath and allowed herself to sink below the foam, underwater. She remained there for several moments before sitting up again and wiping the water from her eyes.
"Well, I suppose I should return to my research for the evening. As always, there is so much to be translated." She pondered for a moment how best to emerge from the bath, not keen on baring her scars in front of anyone, though she was certain Wysteria had already seen them when she had been retrieved from Tel Aviv. Finally, deciding there was no point in delaying, as a suitable alternative to simply evacuating the water could not be found, she stood and pulled her towel around her, retreating to one of the darker corners of the room to dress.
Finally, dressed and mostly dry, she turned to leave. "Good evening, Miss Edwin." She pushed the heavy door open and headed through it, bound for her common room.
