Quin, hunching over slightly so she was less noticable, glanced around. Quite a few students had already arrived, and Quin turned away, so they could only see the a tall person, in pants, with short hair, that resembled a boy. Completely averted to anything girly, she had on a pair of dark blue pants, silk and trimmed with a bottle green thread. Under a dark blue vest, also inlaid with green, she had a white shirt. On her face was placed a raccoon mask, and black paw shaped pads on the bottom of her hands.
Fishing in her blue and green bag, she pulled out a small sack of pink tablets. Whistling innocently, a charmed white and black tail swishing behind her,(she had charmed it so it looked and acted like a real raccoon tail) she casually walked up to the punch bowls. Glancing over of her shoulder, she twirled two tablets inbetween her fingers, and dropped them in.
It sizzled for a second, turning green before it reverted to reddish pink. Grinned, she moved a spoon close to it. Some od the punch exploded, though the scoop wasn't enough to make it go fully. A ladle would make it explode in someones face, until it was dumped down a tiolet.
She wandered down the tables, she made a b-line to the next punch bowl. Heno was on a leather shoulder pad, swaying with every step, and keeping watch. 3 chirps for a student, 2 for a teacher, 1 for someone she knew, and was coming to get her. She had trained him for a while, and just to go with her theme, he had a blue and gold bell that tinkled, louder then the music, but still able to hear in the corner of her mind. She had painted black ink swirls around the corner of each mask, looking quite adorable.

Janet had seen the entire little stunt by Quin, recognizing the poison she was using as an amused smirk went across her face. Oh, it was going to be fun giving detentions for students who thought they could outsmart professors as a first year. Her face sank into a scowl as she observed the sheer callousness and audacity of the students. She walked over briskly as Heno's back was turned and grabbed Quin by the elbow and turned her forcefully around to face her. Janet's face was now properly seething with a dangerous, quiet anger that seemed to radiate from her dark almond-shaped eyes. Without taking her eyes off Quin, Janet silently made the poisoned punch vanish on the table.
"I think you've done quite enough, Miss Woods," she said darkly, "Your little stunt has earned you two week's detention with me. 15 points from Slytherin as well. It looks like you've already done quite enough for your house tonight, so allow me to escort you out of the ballroom." Janet jerked upward on the girl's arm and began dragging her to the exit, keeping her grip firm so she wouldn't be able to squirm away. Although if she did...it would surely be to her own undoing. She was not going to tolerate some childish mockery of what is supposed to be a relaxed evening. Foolish girl.

Quin, feeling a strong grip on her arm, turned around with a sweet, innocent smile on her face, raising an eyebrow. Heno, before Quin could turn around, felt the vibrations of the grip go up her arm, and whirled around, sensing anger or even danger in the teacher's grasp. He bared his teeth, and a line of fur rippled up his back, though he made not a sound. Sensing the hostility in the martins guestuer, Quin put a slightly guarded expression on her face. Anger seemed to pour from those eyes, but Quin's reaction was nothing more then a cool, cocky smile. Feeling a hidden hostility, anger, even danger, a memory slid infront of her eyes.
Trapped in a isle..someone, or thing, was standing over her, holding..nothing. It was to blurry to see anything, just mass of confusion, until a shock of pure pain rattled her, stabbing her nerves. A second before her arms were plain, tan, unmarked, now bloody gashes had appeared. Then it vanished, replace by a horrible memory.. Quin shuddered involentary as the memory slid away again. The same nightmare..but..wait.. For the first time in a manner of bad dreams, she realized that her torture hadn't used a wand.
But for now, that was irrelevant, besides the point, and was marked down for future refrence. When the Teacher started to drag her away, Quin dug in her heals, feeling gleeful with the revelation, and mulish.
"I think you've done quite enough, Miss Woods," she said darkly, "Your little stunt has earned you two week's detention with me. 10 points from Slytherin as well. It looks like you've already done quite enough for your house tonight, so allow me to escort you out of the ballroom."
Quin looked the teacher up and down, calulating. Quin was extremely tall for age, and was a couple of inches taller then the teacher was. Being thin and agile, Quin could make a good get away, if she could break the grip. That might be a problem though, for Quin, being strong and rough, this teacher wasn't a weakling either, in fact, she was so strong that Quin was beginning to wonder if she could, let alone would. Placing a hand over her mouth, she put on a mock-horrified expression on her face.
"Deary me, detention, no dance, a shame, ain't it?" She said, shaking her head woefully. Quin yanked away from the grasp, and felt it slip, if not a lot, a little. "I'm so sorry to break it to you..but.." Quin reached up and hand, tickling Heno under his chin. I simple, innocent action. No one would suspect it was sign, "I wouldn't hold me If I were you, he doesn't like it."
Her voice matched the Teachers, and she felt proud to accomplish the feat. She glanced up at Heno, digging her heals in the ground, stopping them short. Heno was snarling now, looking intelligently at the Teacher. He didn't enjoy it if anyone touched his Quin, and, incide his head, he was counting. Das my Martin.. She thought proudly, noting that he earned a treat. Being stubborn as a mule but quick as a whip, Quin wasn't in the mood to be dragged away from her sport.

Janet rolled her eyes at Quin's arrogance. She decided not to acknowledge Quin's attempts at trying to get her scared of the animal on her shoulder. Honestly, she could kill that thing with a wave of her hand and it posed no threat. She would make sure to give Quin something extra tedious and annoying for her time in detention...oh yes, she would have a plan. Janet would make sure to break the girl, if only for an afternoon. She would not have snotty arrogance in her school, or at least not in her presence. Swinging open the back exit to the ballroom, which led directly to the staircase to the dungeon, she pushed Quin out into the corridor and closed the door behind her. Her face remained blank, calm, while her dark eyes looked at Quin like an annoying bug soon to be squashed.
"You've got two options. One- go back to the dungeon and wait in your dorm until morning and leave for your morning class. Two- go back to your dorm and reflect on how you might have better handled your time in the ballroom." Janet raised her wand as a small purple jet descended on her wand: a Tracing spell which would ensure that if Quin ever left her dorm once arriving there Janet would know immediately.
"You've got a Tracing spell on you now. I'll know exactly where you are for the next 24 hours. Go back to your dorm. Now." Janet stood with her hands on her hips, waiting for Quin to turn around and go back to her dorm. She would wait for a few seconds, but if Quin wouldn't budge then she would send her there with the help of a locomotor charm.

Quin could feel Heno tense, and she tapped the top of his head, making him relax, calm down, waiting now, counting time, or whatever it was to him, in his bright little mind. His lithel little body appeared relaxed, though he was still snarling. Giving a whistle so shrill only highly sensitve ears could hear, AKA: Heno, he supsided into a resentful stare. Quin looked steadily at the Professor bright green eyes mimicing the Professor, calm, cool, and with a hint of world-humor, and the ever lasting glint of mischief, behind her raccoon.(Not that that glinted helped when trying to look innocent)
"You've got two options. One- go back to the dungeon and wait in your dorm until morning and leave for your morning class. Two- go back to your dorm and reflect on how you might have better handled your time in the ballroom. You've got a Tracing spell on you now. I'll know exactly where you are for the next 24 hours. Go back to your dorm. Now."
Quin stretched her arms lucguriously, before placing her own hands on her hips, on hand scratching Heno's furry little head. A finger was pointed at the Teacher, if she tried to force Quin to do something, well, Quin wouldn't take that. protego should work.. She thought, ready to say it if she needed to. She needn't a wand to use magic, though her wandless could be uncontrollable.
"Or.." Quin said, rocking on her heals, "Options three, I walk away, take my detention, and stay at the dance was long as I please. What then?" She asked, cocking her head to the side. A tracing spell..how..clachia((excuse my horrible french)). Quin, honestly, didn't give a flip about being traced all over the school.

((OOC: Ok, Quin, I'm g-modding you for this post b/c you CANNOT block Janet's spell b/c um...you're a 4th year? Plus you're beginning to annoy me as an admin. D'rorah told everyone that nothing disruptive would be going down at the ball, and you've clearly ignored that request. I have other posts to deal with and don't want to be a baby sitter right now.))
Janet sighed, realizing the girl was dumber than she looked. Honestly, trying to fight a professor who had traveled the world and knew magic beyond anything they had ever studied at Hogwarts? She wasn't going to give her the benefit of the doubt this time; Quin was going to have enough trouble with her detentions.
Janet brought up her arm and did a sharp, jabbing motion in the air. A long, yellow stream of smoke that looked more solid than air burst forth from her hand and wrapped it way around Quin entirely. It was an old Runic spell, designed to immobilize the victim in every way possible: she would be asleep, paralyzed, and her jaw shut. She had used it so often that she only needed to think the incantation in her head as the yellow jet poured from her hand. Janet lazily walked past Quin body and with invisible force lifted her in the air and made her horizontal. As Janet walked down the spiral staircase, Quin immobilized and unconscious body followed with the yellow mist still surrounding her. A few times, Quin's head or legs would bump lightly against the wall, but Janet showed no signs of trying to prevent it from happening. Heno was following along, growling at Janet but not attacking her.
Opening the door to the Slytherin common room, she walked up to the 4th year female dorms and lead Quin into the room. She slowly lowered the girl's body down with the aid of her wand onto the bed, doing a slight flicking which allowed Quin to be conscious once again, but still paralyzed and her jaw shut. She stood over the girl and cocked an eyebrow at her.
"You get to stay in your dorm for the remainder of the ball. And...just to be safe...I'm not going to lift the spell on you for the remainder of the night. I'll make sure to undo it before your morning class...unless it's too early, I have a day off tomorrow and plan to enjoy it. Oh, and Heno will be staying with the groundskeeper until you wake up." Janet pointed her wand at Heno and performed a simple immobilizing spell, then gently picked up the animal and walked out of the dorm.
