((OoC: Coming from here: ragedsyphers.proboards100.com/index.cgi?board=westtower&action=display&thread=1190441659&page=2))As they walked along the seventh floor corridor of the castle, he debated over trusting Keaira. There were eyes and ears everywhere, and one never knew who to trust. They had gotten along very well the other night, but he knew that no-one could find out about him. She inquired about D'rorah, a subject that was a bit of a curve ball for him, to say the least. Thinking on it, he supposed it shouldn't be too surprising; they hadn't exactly made themselves unknown. "She's closed to most people, yes," he said, clarifying his thoughts. "Everyone needs to open up sometimes, I suppose." His words would have done little to dispel what he thought was on her mind. Sighing lightly, he stopped walking and turned to face her. “Why do you want to know, Keaira?” he aimed the question straight at her, his eyes looking directly into hers.

Keaira was less than satisfied with Dylan’s response. But surely D’rorah had not let him know who they all were. Especially if she was unsure of his abilities, or intentions. She searched his eyes as he responded, He wasn’t going to give her the information freely, so things would have to be the hard way perhaps. As he fed her that answer she thought of her next action, he wasn’t going to be too hapy, but he wasn’t going to have time to react.
As he stopped she looked around seeing if there was any one else in the corridor, luckily there was no one, and then he asked her what she wanted to know, it was her chance, he was focused on her answer, and wouldn’t expect this. As she looked back at him she made sure that they were lined up, and grabbed him by his shoulders, pushing him through the door behind him.
Once inside the room she spun him around, and closed the door, while pushing him against the wall next to it. She held him there against the wall, knowing that he wasn’t going to be happy. In a hushed whisper she responded to his question. “These are dangerous times, and something tell me that you know a bit to much for a regular every day student. I need to know that D’rorah hasn’t been blinded by your charms.” She stopped speaking at that point, and simply thought strait to him. “Why do you know about the training room in the Room of Requirements, and don’t dare speak the answer, just think it.”
Keaira had no intentions of letting him go, however, it was true that he could probably shake her off easily. But with her balance, she would recover quickly. She just only hoped that he would be intimidated enough to stay put, so she wouldn’t have to fight.

Taken completely by surprise, he found himself shoved roughly through the door behind him. Before he had time to react, he had been forcefully pinned to the wall and his eyes narrowed. "D'rorah? Blinded by my charms?" he asked, perplexed. "She's far too intelligent for that, and you should know it, Keaira," he stated, relatively calm given his current situation. Her suspicion was seemingly well-founded, afterall, and she was quite right. These were dangerous times.
Hearing her continue to speak in his mind, his eyes widened slightly. "You're a telepath?" he said, suddenly wishing that he knew the art of Occlumency. Resuming his normal eye stature, he wondered if this were a trick. Perhaps she was on his side, perhaps she was not. Until he could be sure, he could not tell her of anything. Instantly forcing his thoughts to the first safe thing he could think of, his mind was a sea of images and thoughts, all relating to one thing. D'rorah.
Thinking quickly, he focused all of his attention onto the floor beneath Keaira's feet; it was stone. Perfect. Focusing intently, clearing his mind of all thought, the ground beneath her changed rapidly from solid to liquid, sucking her in hungrily. Dylan would not be bullied.

Keaira was staring Dylan down, waiting to listen to his response. But he had not listened to her instructions. He had spoken the words. Her eyes glared, he’s either really stupid, or just careless. If he had a real grasp of what kind of people were with in these walls he wouldn’t have said anything. She let her mind enter his thoughts and found that there was only one subject on his mind, D’rorah. He had some holes in his defenses, but as Keaira skimmed his thoughts she realized the truth behind his words, D’rorah, was a guarded person, and wouldn’t have been fooled so easily if he had meant her harm.
She let her grip on him relax a little, and was pulling out of his mind as she noted a sudden change in thoughts. As she took a moment to try and see what it was she realized that she had wasted her time. And soon found that her right foot was sinking in to the ground. Her eyes widened as she realized what was going on.
“You’re the elemental master of earth?” The surprise was as evident in her mind as it was on her face. Why had D’rorah kept his discovery secret… Maybe she wasn’t sure if he could be trusted. As her leg sunk deeper, she reached out to his mind, “Dylan. I needed to know, it’s far too dangerous for us even with in these walls. We’ve already lost some one to the darkness, and if you are truly the elemental master of earth you should trust me. I am the shadow warrior of metal.”
Keaira was pleading, as her legs were sucked deeper in to the stone. What would happen when she fell through completely? Would she get stuck between the floors, or would half her body fall out of the ceiling on the 5th floor? As she pleaded she sent imgages of D’rorah when she helped rescue her, from the shadow realm, when Gat tried to kidnap her from the infirmary, and Keaira tried to stop him, of the night Keaira discovered her abilities. She hoped that these pictures would help him to trust her, and maybe remove her from the floor.

He felt her grip relax as she began sinking and a satisfied smirk rose onto his features. Feeling awfully strange about the whole business, instead of speaking aloud he simply thought. 'Recently discovered, yes, I am,' he thought, not sure if he was speaking... or thinking, rather, too loud. He wasn't even sure if there were different volumes in thoughts, but he went with it anyway.
As she practically pleaded with him, his eyes softened slightly and he was just considering releasing her when images flashed through his mind. Images of D'rorah, broken and bleeding. Images of Gat, arguing with Keaira and Dee, trying to take her back to God knows where. The images remaining at the forefront of his thoughts, seemingly plastered in front of his eyes, a single tear rolled down his face. His face bleak, he forced her back out of the ground slowly, her feet finally landing on what was once more solid stone.
The fact that she was the shadow warrior of metal barely even sunk in, the information being thrown aside negligently to be retrieved at some later date. Throwing off her grip, he made to leave, intent on releasing some of his feelings onto an unknowing Gat.

Although she was still sinking in to the floor, a small glimpse of hope had began to grow inside her, he was the elemental master of earth, that meant they were one step closer to actually being able to defeat the shadow mage, as long as he didn’t leave her trapped in the floor for the rest of eternity.
As the images of her relationship with D’rorah hit Dylan’s mind she felt a sudden wave of sadness, followed by anger, a lot of anger. Dylan was going to try and make Gat pay for the pain he had caused. She felt herself returning to the solid floor as the anger seethed out of him.
Keaira remembered the night in the infirmary when Gat had attempted the Crucio curse on her. If he had been better at aiming, she would have been in a little too much pain to even move, let alone try and stop him from disappearing with Dee. Then there was the fact that pretty much the entire group knew that Gat was one of the people that had tortured D’rorah while she was held captive in the shadow realm.
There was a lot to all of this, including the small fact that Dien believed the headmistress tried to modify D’rorah’s memory to incriminate both professor Kade, and Alesandro. A small detail that Keaira was certain Dylan did not know. The headmistress could not be trusted, and attacking Gat would only land Dylan in a lot of trouble.
As He turned to leave, she thought momentarily of reaching out to stop him but decided that was a bad choice, she was after all, surrounded by his element. It would take only one wrong move, and she would go sinking through the floor. “Wait Dylan, you can’t go after him, You don’t understand everything.” She hoped that it would make him stop for a second and reconsider his decision to attempt to put Gat through a world of hurt. “There are a lot of things happening here that you still don’t know, and something that I don’t think D’rorah is aware of either. Just hear me out before you leave. Please?”

Stopping in his tracks, his hand on the doorknob, he heard a voice in his head. Turning back around, his eyes burned, his breathing was heavy, and his mind was in turmoil. Knowing he could not speak, even if he'd wanted to, he spoke only inside his head. 'What?' Had he been talking aloud, he would have snarled at her, so much was his anger.
He did not know what she had to say; had no comprehension of what she might need to say. All he knew was that rushing into anything as utterly dramatic as attacking another student, especially with potentially mind altering information available, was an extremely stupid thing to do. And so, his anger by no mean diminished, he waited, tapping his foot impatiently.
'What are you talking about, Keaira?' he thought quickly, exasperated. The image of a broken D'rorah still lingered before him, ensuring that his ire was maintained.

((sorry this has taken forever to respond to...))
Keaira felt absolutely exasperated with Dylan. He was being so utterly foolish about this. If he had taken a moment to think he might have realized that there was a reason that D’rorah and the rest of the group had not already done some serious damage to Gat. She made sure that her feet were firmly planted on the ground before she began taking a few small steps.
“Dylan think about this with me for just a moment. Muffilato. Gat solider is a 6th year student, alone that’s not that much of a jump for you to be able to over take, especially if you pull some of your elemental mastery on him. But there are other factors. Dien, Professor Serlaen, is my elemental master, and he has very good reasoning to believe that The headmistress is not trustable, firstly because of the possibility that headmistress LaPoint may have altered D’rorah’s memory to incriminate Alessandro, and Professor Kade. Don’t you think its odd that she dismissed Professor Kade so quickly after D’rorah’s return. The headmistress is on the bad side of things. Now what do you think she would do if she found out that you were the last elemental master, the one that they still haven’t discovered. Right now you’re still safe Dylan, but you go off and advertise that you know Gat is evil, and she’ll get you. And then you’re life will be in danger just like the rest of us. People have already DIED here, Students, some one who wasn’t an elemental aster or shadow warrior, just because he got too close. You know that Lapoint dismissed Spade right? Well that’s cause he got stupid and advertise to several of us that he had joined the mage. Oh yeah and did you know that Gat can transform in to a dragon?! That might be a useful bit of information if you intend on taking him on. Dylan you have to keep your head or you’ll end up dead, and then you will be useless to us, and useless to help Dee. Just stop and think for a moment. What would you accomplish by going after him? You’d let Lapoint know who you were, and maybe make it easier for her to find an opportunity to corrupt you.”
It was quite the speech, but she knew that it might just help deter him. Maybe. But if he chose to ignore her words he would have to suffer the consequences. She allowed her gaze to meet his, hoping that he would see the truthfulness behind her words. They had already lost Spade to the dark side, and Gat was trying to bring them down as well. Things were dangerous as it was with out some one flying off the handle to go enact some revenge.

His resolute determination faltered as she spoke. As angry as he was, Dylan knew that she was right. Trying not to imagine punching Gat in the face only to have him turn dragon on him, he looked down to the floor, the brown strands from his head curtaining his face. At least this gave him a few useful bits of information; the speech was not entirely lost. He knew he could not trust Gat, nor the Headmistress, nor Spade. Remembering what LaPointe had done to D'rorah's robes in the common room, his eyes narrowed considerably. He also discovered that he was the last remaining Elemental Master to be found; D'rorah had explained this to him, but not what it meant. No-one knew about him, no-one except for a choice few. Being discovered by the wrong person could endanger both his life and their cause against the Mage.
Wondering briefly what she meant by 'corrupt' him, he moved on. Returning his head to its regular level, his eyes met hers. He thoroughly wished there was a way to utterly destroy Gat, but saw no way possible. Pain in his eyes, it was also in his voice. "I'm going to go and continue my training," he said quietly, turning to leave once more.

As Keaira spoke she saw the look in Dylan’s eyes change. Things were setting in. he was beginning to understand a few things which would help keep him an edge up from the rest. She felt a little guilty at the way she had thrust him in to the room, but in times like these there was too much at stake for them to be careless.
She listened to his voice, noting the distinct difference from what it had just held. He had allowed her words to sway him, to turn him away from such a stupid mission. AS he turned to leave she, thought of one more word of caution that she needed to speak before he passed the boundaries of her spell.
“Dylan, one more thing you should keep in mind. It’s not just a coincidence that all of the elemental masters and shadow warriors were drawn to Hogwarts this year. We were all Drawn to this place, some of us by inexplicable transfers, others by random events that led us all together, keep in mind that it might just be the same for the supporters of the mage. Your words, and thoughts, are almost never safe. Don’t let them idly roam. I’m sure that I am not the only Telepath here this year. Keep that in mind. Also, you might want to brush up on your mental blocks. Maybe find a way to practice occulemecy, after all there are a lot of people here that can cast spells silently, you might not know if they are using leggiemency. Just in short, watch your words, and guard your thoughts. We can’t afford for some one to die.”
Upon finishing another speech tailored for him, she sighed, either he would take her advice, or he would find that his identity was compromised. She did not wish this upon him, but knew of its possible repercussions. If he wished to go out and think so openly about training, some one would discover him, and he would have to deal with the dangers that the rest of them faced. Keaira let her arms fall to her sides, she was done.

Nodding silently, he made a mental note to read up about mental barriers and occlumency later, then find some way to practice both of them. Without another word, he departed from the room, thoughts and memories about what had just transpired running through his head. The look on his face, caused by the image of D'rorah still plastered before his eyes, was not a pleasant one. Finally turning the doorknob, he yanked it open and tore out of the room, headed for the one place he could always rely on for complete relaxation.
Quickly leaving the seventh floor, he made his way downwards and found the corridor he was searching for. Passing the patch of wall three times in quick succession, he yanked open the door violently and slid inside. Selecting the door that corresponded to his element, he made his way inside and felt instantly revitalised. Taking deep breaths, he allowed the element that surrounded him to calm him down.
