Brody couldn't believe that hid third year at Hogwarts was at an end. This year had been rather insane with the option of taking electives of his choice for the first time. But then again when Brody thought more about it, none of his years at Hogwarts thus far had been rather calm. This was all Brody's own doing really, but he couldn't help that. He had a fierce drive to succeed in all that he did and when something didn't go right, Brody took it hard. When it came down to it, Brody was worse than a perfectionist and overly hard on himself. His mother had told him this many times, but each time it simply went in one ear and out the other.
Sure his parents and grandparents had high expectations of him, after all he was the eldest grandson and grandchild on either side. They all expected him to be a perfect role model for all of his siblings and cousins, but that was becoming more and more difficult as he knew he was competing against his brother and cousin now to become the heir. It had become an obsession of Brody and he thought th only way he could be the shoo-in for the title was to be the best at everything and never make mistakes.
It was because of that mentality that Brody was so exhausted and took things so seriously. He simply didn't know of a better way to reach his ambition and it was quite frustrating. surely there had to be a way, but what was it? That question with no answer plagued him constantly, so he simply went on doing what he always did.
Today it was extremely pleasant outside and Brody was feeling as if a 100 pound gorilla was off his back now that his exams in the classes he struggled in were done with. He was still not entirely free-he still had his Transfiguration and Charms exams, but he wasn't worried too much about them. Those classes seemed to come pretty easily for Brody. And so as a result of the gorgeous day and the 100 lb gorilla that seemed to be attached firmly to him in recent weeks, Brody was actually in a pretty good mood.
He decided to take a break from the books and the studying and just casually go for a run. After all if he had any hope of permanently landing a starting position of other than Keeper, which he really didn't like, he had to keep in good physical state. And one way to do that was by running. Plus running was a good stress reliever for Brody. And so after his lessons and exams finished for the day, he grabbed some fruit and vegetables to munch on, changed into his dark green running suit and began his routine. His favorite route took him around the lake and through the Gardens because it was beautiful scenery and there was almost always a breeze off of the Lake.
He always began with several stretches, some that might appear a bit odd so he wouldn't hurt himself. He had learned some of those odd stretches when he played Football (Soccer) when he attended Dollar Academy before Hogwarts and yes, some of them were rather odd, but they worked. And because some them were rather odd, he often was the recipient of several peculiar stares that said simply What the bloody hell are you doing? especially from a number of his own housemates.
It seemed that for once that he might actually get through his run without such stares and he was happy about that. But that soon changed as he took a sip from his water bottle quickly and swore he heard footsteps coming from behind him.
Normally he would snipe at the person who dared bother him if it wasn't someone Brody interacted with daily, but being that he was in a better mood than he normally was, he was a bit more tolerant and polite. Dare he say even in a bit of jesting mood?
In the general direction of the footsteps he greeted the arrival a tad lightheartedly:
"Aww, can I help you with something? Or are you simply admiring my wonderful physique? I know it's impressive."
