Having departed his common room early in the morning, he'd left Alessandro behind in order to pursue some early breakfast. Finally satiated on the food front, he emerged from the Great Hall and made his way down the Entrance Hall stairs at a light pace. Crossing the foyer, he departed the castle through the main doors and found a brilliant day awaiting him.
His first step onto the grass revitalised him in a way that only the feel of earth could. A rush of power swept through his entire being and he closed his eyes to enhance the moment. Exhaling deeply, a broad smile could be found on Dylan's face as he stepped forward.
Recalling the reason for his presence there, he noticed neither Alessandro nor Jason around yet. He remembered that they were to meet in the Entrance Hall, but he would be clearly seen from where he was standing, so he didn't worry about it too much. He was mightily looking forward to the forthcoming day. For once, he'd actually found some friends of the male gender; something that in itself was a rarity so far this year. Not for the first time, he wondered at the obvious abundance of girls in the school and the seeming lack of males. Perhaps he just noticed the girls more, he didn't know.
Having adorned his favourite pair of jeans and a button-up blue t-shirt, he was also comfortably clad in a pair of black vans that he preferred quite often. His money pouch full and a bright, excited smile on his face, he waited for his new friends to arrive.

Jason was finally ready. Or so he thought. When he woke up he'd immediately thrown his clothes from the previous day on and rushed down the multiple flights of stairs to the Great Hall, feeling a horrific emptiness in his stomach. He wolfed down his breakfast, eating more than he usually did, which was already more than one would expect for someone his size. All his nervous energy it seemed required a lot of fuel. As he pushed his mostly finished fourth helping away it occurred to him that it was poor planning to come down to breakfast before he was ready to depart as he'd now have to climb all the way back up to Gryffindor tower on an exceedingly full stomach. Groaning, he stood up and left the hall, climbing the shifting stairways as quickly as he could.
Once bathed and changed, a process which took a bit longer than he'd meant for it to since he was moving slugishly after so large a meal, he headed back down the stairs excitedly. He'd been looking forward to this trip since before he was even sure he'd have money for a broom. Now he was ecstatic.
As he headed down the marble staircase into the entrance hall, he noticed no one else seemed to be there. For a moment panic threatened to overtake him. Had he mixed up the days? No, surely. It was Saturday, the agreed upon day. As he reached the front doors he spotted Dylan out on the lawn, enjoying the pleasant weather it seemed. Relief flooded over him.
Until he caught sight of the hallway that lead to the Hufflepuff common room and remembered that both Wysteria and Leilani would be joining them. His overly large breakfast was threatening to make an encore appearance as he stumbled over to lean against one of the huge hourglasses. His breath came in shallow gasps as he bent double, his hands on his knees for support. With just Lei he should be fine. Even were Wyst in the group, she had said she still wanted to be friends so he would just need to let go of the whole encounter himself. But both of them together?
Oh relax you big baby. You're not gonna die.
He finished the thought out loud, though in a murmer.
"Unfortunately."

Alessandro was walking slowly down the corridors, just having exited Ravenclaw tower. He made his way down the halls to the shifting stairwell, pausing at the doorway as he waited for the stairs to shift in his favor, wanting to take a shortcut down the the main floor. He was reading a letter he had just recieved from his mother in his dorm.
Sweety! I'm so happy to hear from you! How are things at school? I hope you are learning a lot, make mummy proud! You know I don't mean to coddle you. It's just that you're my only son, my only child. It's only natural for me to shower you with love and affection as I see fit. Hewlett sends his love as well, and we would be happy to give you the extra galleons for your trip to Hogsmeade this weekend. We've deposited them in the account at Gringotts, so you may have to make a quick stop at Diagon Alley before you and your friends go off to Hogsmeade. If there's anything you need at all, please, darling, you just send us an Owl, Okay? Hewlett and I are thinking of doing something different for the hollidays coming up. I'll send you another owl soon giving you the details. Well, alright then...You have fun!
Kisses! ~Mum
He sighed and folded up the letter, placing it in his sidebag. "Gringotts..." He breathed with a smirk. He seldom liked going into the bank. The goblins made him a little uneasy and he usually withdrew massive quantities so he wouldn't have to return so quickly.
The stairwell shifted in his favor and he proceeded to make his way down to the great hall. He ran a hand through his hair, securing the locks behind his right ear as he hopped off the last few stairs and onto the second floor landing. Passing Myrtle's bathroom, he noticed she was wailing.
Wonder whats gotten her so bent out of shape again...someone prob'ly piddled in her toilet... He thought with a wicked smile as his mental joke was quite comical.
He finally found his way to the main floor and entered the Great Hall, passing the house tables as he approached the Foyer. His hands found the zipper on his Navy, goose-down insulated vest, and he zipped it up halfway, still exposing the white, hooded henley he was wearing underneath. It would be a chilly day out in town, so he chose proper clothing for comfort and weather. Donning his favorite pair of dark, stone wash, boot cut jeans, and his trusty green hemp chuck talyors, he pushed past the double doors, spotting Jason and Dylan all prepared for their sojourn.
"Morning guys." He smiled briefly as he searched the foyer. "Where's Wysteria and Leilani?" He queried.

A weekend trip to Diagon Alley was precisely what Wysteria needed. She would be able to talk about quidditch, buy a couple good bats, and not worry about school for at least a few hours. She woke up a bit later than she would have liked, but she made up for it by eating a quick breakfast and heading out to the foyer as soon as she had sipped the last of her pumpkin juice. She hadn't met Dylan, and was interested to find out more about this young man that had managed to capture Dee's affections. She was very closed-off, so anyone that was patient and persistent enough to begin a romantic relationship would have to be an exceptional person...either that or extremely good at love potions, Wyst thought with a smirk.
She saw Dylan, Alessandro, and Jason already at the foyer. She winced, wondering if she was making them late. But as she looked around, she couldn't see Lei, so she was relieved not to be the last one to arrive. That was always a bit embarrassing, especially if you know you're holding the group up.
"Hey guys!" she said, smiling at each of them. It was nice to see Alessandro again after their reconciliation in the Hospital Wing. No doubt there were still things that weighed heavily on both of their minds, but they were back to being best friends again, which was what she needed. Jason looked a bit apprehensive as usual, and she had a brief flashback to their encounter in the ballroom. She looked at him and gave him a somewhat nervous smile and a shrug as if to say "don't worry about it, dude."
"So....I guess now we just wait for Lei?" she asked aloud, looking toward the direction of the Hufflepuff common room and Great Hall in turn.

He stepped lightly out of his common room and into the hallway adjacent to it. He was a bit nervous to be in the company of so many new faces, most of which he's seen before in classes, but he really only had met one person, and that was Wysteria Edwin. He overcame his slight anxiety and walked onward toward the Great Hall.
It was a brilliant day outside as he saw the rays of sunlight slicing through the clouds, gracing the ground below with its warmth. He was wearing khaki pants and a light green v-neck sweater, with a white crew neck under-tee poking through. He made his way past the dining tables of the four houses and approached the grand double doors leading out into the foyer. He took a deep breath and gave himself a quick mental once over and pushed through.
He sent everyone a weak smile that was characteristic of someone who was still very tired, yet woke up anyhow. "Bonjour everyone." He said widening his smile a bit. He looked at Wyst and nodded to her. "Thank you for extending your invitation to me, Wysteria." He said politely and then just stood there, still smiling.
He felt a little awkward just standing there not having introduced himself to the three boys just standing there, so he spoke up.
"I'm so sorry," he began with an anxious smile. "My name is Sebastien Bellefleur, I think we're in some classes together? Wysteria invited me, I hope it's not a bother..." He introduced himself with ease and then proceeded to gain approval of his presence from the rest of the party.

Giving one last glance to the lake, he turned to see that everyone was beginning to arrive. Re-entering the foyer, he gave a friendly smile to both Jason and Alessandro, the latter of which had just arrived. Hearing a buoyant exclamation, he turned his head ever so slightly so see Wysteria descending the stairs nearby. Following the movement of her eyes, he nodded. “I didn’t know so many were coming,” he commented in an only slightly audible voice, his eyes catching yet another person approaching. It was indeed a Hufflepuff, but not the one previously mentioned.
Of the currently gathered troupe, the newest entrant was the only one he did not know on any personal level whatsoever. He wasn’t even sure of his name, until he introduced himself. Taking a few steps toward the group, he nodded subconsciously at Sebastien’s words. “No bother, the more the merrier,” he replied happily.
Looking around for a moment or two, he saw no further sign of students excepting a couple of seventh year girls, both of whom appeared to belong to Gryffindor and were traipsing toward the Great Hall. “It looks like Leilani’s a no show,” he remarked, checking his watch and noting it was now nearly 10 minutes beyond their meeting time. “Shall we go?” He directed the question to everyone, wanting to make sure they were ready.

Jason stood straight as Alessandro greeted him. After the talk they'd had in the garden he certainly didn't want the Ravenclaw to know he was having stomach pains that were, to a degree, caused by Wysteria. He offered only a shrug to Alessandro's question, not having seen either of the Hufflepuff girls yet that morning. Jason smiled at Dylan as the older boy walked back into the foyer, then turned at Wyst's greeting. Clearly he didn't hide his apprehension very well, as she smiled a little uncomfortably at him and shrugged. He returned the smile with a no less awkward one of his own and nodded, though this was more to himself than to her.
Friends. Friends. Friends. Friends. Just friends. Just friends. Fine with just friends.
Turning expectantly as he heard footsteps coming from the direction of the Hufflepuff common room, Jason's budding grin was quickly replaced by a disappointed and somewhat confused look. Why was this seventh year coming over to their group? He didn't look familiar. The expression on Jason's face didn't change much as the boy greeted them, and as the confusion melted away at the explanation that he'd been invited by Wysteria, Jason fought hard to keep the disappointment from taking over his face. His eyes rapidly turned between the two Hufflepuffs, his jaw hanging open slightly.
French. Great. And older than you to. Why did you have to be raised in California? Who's ever been interested in a Californian accent? Oh well. It's for the best maybe. Now you can stop thinking about her and just enjoy your time with Leilani. Where is she anyway?
Jason's eyes wandered back to the corridor Sebastien had just emerged from. He barely listened to Dylan's acknowledgment of Sebastien's introduction and completely forgot that he hadn't offered one himself. His head snapped around though when Dylan suggested they just leave.
"No!"
Face flushing as it always did, Jason cleared his throat.
"I mean, well, it would be sad if she got here and we'd left her. Maybe we should wait for . . . a little longer?"
He turned his face to each of those present as if to see what they thought, but he couldn't keep his eyes meeting any of theirs for more than a quarter second, so he didn't actually learn much. Eventually his gaze fell back on the corridor to the Hufflepuff common room.

Wysteria agreed with her other peers that they should probably get a move on and head out to Diagon Alley. As Jason spoke up, she felt a small smile fo across her face. She wondered if he maybe had a crush on the girl Lei and hoped to spend more time with her. A few seconds later an owl swooped by Wyst and dropped a note at her feet. She cocked an eyebrow at the small letter before picking it up and opening it, skimming over the parchment quickly as a small frown came to her face.
"Weird...I just got a letter from the Headmistress, who I guess isn't here right now, that Lei transfered to Beauxbatons earlier this week." Wysteria blinked in surprise for a few moments before looking at her friends that had gathered in the entrance hall. The whole idea of it seemed very oddball...almost like she vanished in the middle of the night and no one knew why. She grimaced a bit, thinking briefly of the Mage but hoping the incident wouldn't lead to that conclusion.
"I guess...we better go ahead?" Wyst said, still scratching her head a bit a the abrupt news and looking to the others for the signal that they could continue on their weekend outing.

Jason's overly eager face fell at the words Wyst hesitantly uttered. His eyes fell as well, coming to rest right between his feet as he heaved a sigh. She left without saying goodbye . . . did she . . . did I not mean anything to her? Or is it something worse? What did Alessandro say about evil gathering and manifesting as shadow? What if something got her? What if . . . Jason shook his head slightly. No, he was being irrational. Her parents had been moving around her whole life; it wasn't so unbelievable that they would suddenly drag her off to France. He sighed again. This was not looking to be a terribly enjoyable little trip. Trying to be optimistic in a somewhat pessimistic way, Jason told himself that it couldn't get much . . . Down the marble staircase came a softly glowing leopard shark, apparently swimming quite gracefully through the air. It swept slowly up to Wysteria and began to swirl around her. From it's thinly opened mouth came the charming voice of Zane Lucifer Bishop.
"To the lovely Wysteria Edwin, you would do me great honor and delight me beyond description were you to accompany me to the Halloween Masque. I am of course aware you may have already been engaged by another, and will thusly bear no ill will should you prove unable or unwilling to accept my proposal. I am, as always, yours. Have a wonderful day and if you should wish it, you know where to find me."
The shark circled a few more times before evaporating into a fine silver mist and then disappearing entirely. . . . worse. Jason stared at Wyst for moment as if he wanted to say something but knew it would never come out right, shook his head more violently, made a valiant effort at a smile, and turned for the front exit. " Yes, let's go." ((OOC the real reason to have two characters. Kachow!))

Alessandro turned his head to witness the arrival of a new face, one that he had seen once before in Ancient Runes. The new guy. He had introduced himself as Sebastien Bellefleur, and if he was not mistaken, belle meant "pretty" and fleur meant "flower" in French. Alessandro snickered minutely before straightening out. How funny for a male to be named "pretty flower".
He sent forth his right hand as it made contact with Sebastien's. "I'm Alessandro Darko...pleasure to meet you." He said with a smile, disregarding his thoughts on Sebastien's surname. They shook hands firmly as Alessandro scrutinized this taller, and broader addition to Hogwarts. He definitely had the rugged looks of a Frenchman.
Suddenly, an owl plopped a letter into Wysteria's hands. After she read it, she informed the crew that Leilani had transferred to Beauxbatons.
Well that was quite sudden... He thought as he was reminded of the two of them sitting by the lake. She had caught him singing a song to himself, Take it All Away, by Ryan Cabrera. Usually he didn't sing for people, it was a more private thing than anything, however, it seemed that Lei was able to bring him out of his shell a little bit. He frowned slightly at the disheartening news.
"Ehhm, May I have this back?" Sebastien asked with a soft chuckle. Alessandro looked down and noticed that he was still gripping Sebastien's hand quite firmly. He flushed instantly.
He let go quickly and emitted a sort of high pitched squeak-laugh. "Sorry! I spaced out..." He said shifting on spot. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed a silverly glow. Turning, he recognized it to be the patronus of a one, Mister Zane Bishop. The shark swirled around Wysteria as it relayed a message in the vocal stylings of the owner, requesting her to accompany him to the Halloween Masquerade Ball.
Thankful for this distraction away from his prolonged holding of Sebastien's hand as he had been lost in reverie, he raised his eyebrows as he witnessed Zee's quite stunning and cordially phrased invitation.
Not bad...not bad at all...maybe he is a good guy after all. You should really not judge the book by its cover, Alessandro... He told himself. After all, Keaira is a Slytherin, and you trust and like her... He thought, forcing himself to relinquish his minor distrust for the Slytherin boy. It couldn't hurt to keep an eye out, all the more.
