Wysteria needed a break. The thoughts of an upcoming battle had loomed heavily on her mind as she sat in the Hufflepuff common room. She rarely had much time to consider the idea of a carefree afternoon. However, that's exactly what she was determined to do that day. She knew that if she didn't at least smile once a day her face was almost stuck in a permanent scowl. She considered taking a walk in the gardens for a split second, before remembering they were off-limits. But if she couldn'tgo to the garden...
She smirked to herself as she imagined the somewhat inane and pointless way to spend the next few hours. But it would be a way for her to practice her spell work, she reasoned, and even though she might be bending a few rules there wasnt much malice in her intentions.
Wysteria immediately sat up, gathered a few things, and head out of the common room to look for an appropriate spot. She found one on the fifth floor: an empty corridor where classes weren't going to start for several hours. Setting her brown bag down, took out her wand and began making a few purple flowers appear on the floor, and then travel up the walls. She smiled at her spellwork, then started conjuring a few daisies when she heard someone approaching.

Keaira had been aimlessly traveling the castle for almost 3 hours. She felt like she knew every portrait that hung on the walls, every statue that was guarding the corridors; she even though that she might know each crack that appeared in the wall. The outside ban was driving her insane. Then on top of that she had been getting these weird feeling lately. Some times she would be sitting around just sort of staring off in to space, and she would notice a cold sensation that traveled through her body. It was bugging her so much that she had taken to making sure she was always doing something. Whether that be home work, or meditation. Playing the Flute, or aimlessly burning off hundreds of calories walking. She needed something to do, just to keep her mind and her hands busy.
She was once again nearing the peak of her journey. There were only 7 floors in the castle and she had no reason to travel to the top floor. It brought her uncomfortably close to the outdoors. Something that she craved beyond all measure, but way unable to attain. It killed her to stay inside, but she really did not have a choice. She didn’t really go to many outside classes, and the ones she did were currently unscheduled. So that meant hours upon hours of enclosure. If this lasted much longer she would surely develop claustrophobia.
She rounded another corner, her eyes just looking ahead, and found that she was not the only one out in the corridors. Wysteria. She knew the girl, and had run in to her on a few occasions. It seemed so weird that in a castle so large that she always seemed to run in to the same people. Wysteria, Alessandro, It was like some of them just took up residence where ever she happened to be out and about. Weird.
Keaira smiled as she looked around the corridor, it seemed that Wysteria had been attempting to make the cold stone hallways a bit more inviting. The flowers that grew along the hall and even up the wall were actually quite beautiful. But the area seemed to be lacking something.
“Wow, I like what you’ve done with the place…” Keaira let the words hang in the air for a few moments as she examined one of the daisies. A smile spread across her face as she had an idea. She knew what was missing. She pulled her wand from her pocket and gave it a delicate swish “Avis.” A few small birds flew out of her wand and fluttered in the air above them. “Adds a nice touch don’t you think?”

He was growing tired of pondering the many places his elemental orb could be. He had yet to find it and was becoming more frustrated by the minute. He gazed up into the face of Rowena Ravenclaw as he thought. At least you had your trinket...but carelessness lost it for you. I never had mine to begin with... He thought glumly. He stood up and exited the common room, descending the tightly wound spiral stairs.
He walked out of the tower entrance and up to the fifth floor as he always felt a certain affinity for the place he had bumped into Wysteria for the first time, being pestered by Peeves.
As he drew near to the corridor, he thought he heard birds chirping. He rounded the corner and to his surprise he found Keaira and Wysteria amidst a flock of birds twittering around, with flowers, beautiful in array, up and down the walls and on the floors. He smiled to himself as he thought This gives a whole new meaning to the term: Wall Flowers... He waved happily as he approached them.
"Hey Keaira, Wysteria!" He nodded to each. "Its looking rather cheerful in here as of late." He beamed as he admired their spellwork. He looked from one to the other as if he was expecting them to say something. "So....err....whats up?" He asked running a hand through his dark brown hair.

A smile danced happily across Keaira’s face. At least she could experience the out doors a little, even if she could actually be out in them. The place still needed something, but this was a nice start. She gazed at the birds, flying about, merrily twittering their little tunes. It gave her a sense of pride that she could do something like that. They were all a little different, a few looked like robins, and others like mocking birds. But one stood out a bit more than the others, as if had more of a hawkish look to it. She wasn’t perfect, so neither was her spell work.
She was about to suggest that maybe they add a rose bush, or maybe put one of those nice decorative stone benches here to make it feel like more of the gardens, when a familiar face turned around the corner. Alessandro had come in smiling and waving. So Keaira had decided that they were going to be friends once more. “Hey there Alessandro, what are you up to?” she allowed the smile to linger a bit more, until it slipped away in to a face that just screamed contentedness. She was just fine, and the development of this ‘garden’ had made the day a bit more endurable.
“Yeah it is in good spirits around these parts, although I still feel like there is more that could be added. Why not give it a bit of the Alessandro Orion Darko touch.” Keaira allowed a smirk to cross her face at the mention of his full name. Either he would find it amusing, and a good thing, or he would think she was once again picking on him. Although she had meant it as a compliment she wasn’t sure where he would go with it.

Alessandro smirked as she mentioned his full name. He had liked to introduce himself by his full name, a habit he had since dropped after Keaira had joked about it. Now he just introduced himself as Alessandro Darko....for the most part. "Shall I have a go then?" He asked with a smile. He observed the corridor: Birds flying around, and flowers up and down the walls and on the floors. "Hmmmm, howbout something for the birds to perch on?" He asked as he brandished his wand. He rose it high into the air and closed his eyes, summoning all of the concentration he could muster. Once he held his desired effect in his mind, he brough his wand straight down, pointing it to the floor as he called out "Cresco Arbus!"
A couple of seconds went by with no apparent effect. He still held his wand pointed at the same spot. He noticed their onward glances and wondered if they thought he was failing at performing this spell. It did take a lot of concentration however, and finally he saw something.
The beginning of a sapling uplifted and sprouted through the thick carpet of the corridor. It continued to rise and mature quickly as if the passage of time had accelerated exponentially. Soon the small sapling had become a tiny tree, and soon that tiny tree had become a somewhat larger tree.
He stood back and smiled. "Well thats about all I can do..." he remarked as he looked at his magically grown tree. It looked alright except for the size wasn't as large as a normal tree, and it looked a bit meager in the leaf department, but it had several branches for the birds to perch on, so task accomplished.
"Good?" He asked Keaira and Wysteria awaiting their approval.

Wysteria was glad Keaira and Alessandro had joined her in adding some flair to the dreary gray corridors. She enjoyed the twittering birds, and thought the small tree did add a nice touch to their small oasis. But even still, she wanted to add...perhaps if only to find otu just how much they could get away with before a Professor, or another student, joined them or tried to eliminate their spellwork. Taking out her wand, she tapped it lightly in her palm as she considered what might be best added to the botantical menagerie.
Smiling to herself, Wysteria pointed her wand at the floor, mumbling something in a very quiet, almost sing-song like voice. A black mist erupted from her wand and collected on the ground, slowly forming into an adult black cat. IT was still however, as if it was awaiting instructions. She leaned down and whispered a few more words, waving her wand in a circular motion.
She took a step back and then cried, "Vita!" It immediately sprang to life, bounding around the hall and rubbing itself in the flowers that were still growing slowly along the wall.
She turned to Kearia and said, "don't worry, I made her unable to attack your birds," she smiled down at her small cat as it rubbed itself against her leg before frolicking over to the other two students.
"Buttercups?" Wysteria asked to no one in particular before conjuring several of the flowers on the other side of the corridor.

“Buttercups sound lovely. And maybe some tulips?”
Keaira smiled, this was beginning to brighten her day. There were pretty flowers, and happy birds. The tree that Alessandro grew, and then the addition of the playfully cute cat. Things were looking quite cheerful. Yet there was something she had been meaning to add. After all, what was a garden with out a pretty center piece to add to its beauty?
She quickly glanced up and down the corridor, looking for something in particular. And there it was, not that far away A suit of armor, stood at attention less that 20 feet away, with out hesitation Keaira took off toward it. Upon reaching the statue she pointed her wand at it, and said “Mobulus Loricatus” After that the suit of armor seemed to nod a little, and followed her back to the garden area. Careful to avoid the flowers, and the tree, she directed the armor to a spot near the center of where they had grown the pretty flora.
She whispered in to the armor a short command, and then tapped it again. Once again the armor nodded, and struck a pose. With one leg stretched out, and its arms extended and its fingers spread. The suit of amour looked as if it was in mid jump. “Reverto Aguamenti” It wasn’t a perfect spell but it might work for a little while. She had used her Latin knowledge to add the word return to the spell for water. This way it should allow the water in the suit of armor to return after it exited its container.
The suit of amour, in its cute pose, had water flowing out of its fingers, and boot, spreading over the flowers, hitting the ground, and then returning to the suit. It had worked. The water only hit the ground for a few short seconds before returning itself to the source. Keaira smiled, as she watched. In a few short minutes the armor would change its pose, acting as a transforming fountain for the garden.

Alessandro marveled over Wysteria's black cat and Keaira's animated Suit of Armor Fountain. He smiled with pleasure as he took in the aesthetics of their private utopia, all within the confines of the castle walls on the fifth floor corridor. He watched as her fountain changed positions and really liked the way she had instructed the water to return to the armor in an almost steady recycled flow. "Hmmm...." He hummed as he looked around wondering what they should add next. An idea struck him as he looked at the window.
He turned his gaze to the ceiling and surveyed the area around the lush flora and fauna. He shot the two girls an inspired look with a twinkle in his gray-green eyes. He swished his wand in the air several times before crying out: "Subnubilus Caelum!" He kept the image of a partly cloudy sky strong in his mind as tufts of fluffly white clouds materialized up in the ceiling. A clear azure hue assigned itself the the stonework in the ceiling.
He panted as he admired his handy work. "That was tricky...." He huffed. He looked up at the sky and smiled, but frowned as his spell had vanished after no more than five seconds. He scowled at his ineptitude, but then decided to do something a little less grandiose and more his style. He pointed his wand at the overhanging banners and spoke the incantation "Labrusca Verto." Immediately the banners shredded into several thin strands, changing colors to a light green hue, leaflets sprouting out of them as they twisted their ways over to the walls and hung down from the ceilings. Grapes appeared within the vines as they settled to the floor.
"That was better..." He said as he felt this was a much nicer addition to their garden.

Professor Albion couldn't help laughing as he stepped around the fifth floor corner and found himself unexpectedly in the midst of a small grove of miniature trees with buttercups and tulips underfoot. Birds flitted here and there among the greenery, and in the midst of it all was a suit of armor with water flowing from its various parts and a black cat, conscientiously grooming itself.
"Grape vines?" he asked aloud, pinning three guilty-looking students with his gaze. They all had their wands out, and as he watched, the suit of armor suddenly transformed itself into a fountain.
"Oh, now, that's a pity," Professor Albion remarked with genuine regret. He glanced from Mr. Darko to Miss Edwin and again at the girl whose name he didn't know. He smiled, remarking to Miss Edwin, "I rather liked the suit of armor myself. It showed real style."

Keaira marveled at Alessandro's attempt to bring the sky inside. It was particularly beautiful, but it seemed to fade just as quickly as it had appeared. She had realized that this was some very advanced spell work, and knew that even with her aptitude of transfiguration, she probably would not have faired much better than him. But he had recovered nicely, deciding that since he couldn’t do what he first planed he would instead try something a bit easier. A smile of joy danced on Keaira’s face, the Grape vines were a remarkable touch to their little garden.
But her smile faded slightly as she was roused from her admiration of Alessandro's work by a professor. He had laughed joyfully as her entered their little ‘secret garden’. Apparently he had thought it was a nice touch to the place because instead of the impending thought of points being lost there was compliments on their work instead.
Keaira blushed slightly, as he mentioned her suit of armor. She had really thought that it was an ingenious idea… after all it would eventually be released from its duty, when she told it to. Besides the flowers and the tree might need water to flourish, and with the suit they got it. Keaira had a quick thought, and smiled once again. “Professor, why not add your own touch to our little environment. Surely you can think of something that we have not.”

"Nothing you haven't already thought of," Professor Albion replied, "but I might be able to help out a bit. Mr. Darko, I think this is what you had in mind - "
He took out his wand and, extending it toward the ceiling, cast a scattering of blue and white sparks from its tip upward in all directions. "Vidi!" he said, and the sparks coalesced above the fountain. He lowered his wand momentarily, then held it out again at arm's length, calling out, "Patefacio caelum!"
It took a moment, but as they watched, a blue sky dotted with white clouds blossomed above the magical garden, the glow of the sun visible throughout. When he was satisfied with the effect, the professor waved his wand broadly, locking the spell in place. "Subiungo totalus!"
"Better?" he asked.

Alessandro blushed fully as Professor Albion had seemingly cast the perfected version of his sky recreation spell. He frowned at his embarrassment for his ineptitude at the previous spell. At least he was better at transfiguration, the grapevines looked magnificent.
"Thanks Professor...What was that first word of that incantation you used? I used Subnubilus...." He asked his Professor of Divination.
He looked around the flourishing hallway which beheld a magically animated suit of armor which acted like a fountain, beautifully conjured birds tweeting zestfully as they perched in the small tree, exuberantly colored flowers sprouting everywhere in sight even up the walls. He had added a nice touch with the grapevines; they came from the suspended bar holding the banner. Some hung down to the ground, and others wound their way over to the wall and grew downward sprouting luscious grapes.
To top it all off, Albion had conjured the perfect sky that Alessandro had failed to create. It added a warm glow to the magical gardens below.
Alessandro took in a big breath of air and smiled. "Its amazing what magic can do...." He said withdrawing his silver Italian horn from the collar of his uniform, working it between his fingers.

"Subnubilus? A perfectly logical choice. You're what? Fifth year? There are actually several spells that will work." Albion shrugged. "I think each of us uses the one that works best for us.
"I used vidi to begin with. It's a revealing spell; in this case, it reveals the sky as I recalled it at that particular moment.
"The second part was patefacio caelum. It expands the illusion to fill a given space - the ceiling, in this case.
"The final bit is nothing special: subiungo totalus. It's a locking spell, but not a permanent one. You'll have to renew it occasionally if you want the illusion to continue." He grinned. "I thought it best not to use a permanent spell since the Headmistress might have her own opinion on your little garden becomes."
He looked around again at what they'd created. "It's better than I'd have managed as a Fifth Year student," he told them. "Let's see . . . Mr. Darko, you're Ravenclaw; Miss Edwin . . . Hufflepuff . . . and your companion, ah, Slytherin," Professor Albion said, glancing at the house crest on the girl's robes. "Take 10 points each for creativity, ladies, Mr. Darko. And, um, try not to do any damage, all right?"
Smiling, he walked away, turning a corner at the end of the corridor.
