Good girls are made of sugar and spice Real girls are made of vodka and ice This girl is no more than a roll of the dice
Tawny was no where close to being happy with her current living quarters. Honestly. What kind of place was a dungeon for a common room? It needed to be decorated. Pinks, blues, blacks and purples needed to be thrown out across the walls. Maybe some new art work. The ones that currently hung on the walls were already starting to grate on her. But so was the cost of a cartoon character being thrust into the real world. Nothing in Hogwarts could satisfy the regal scene kid.
Walking from her dorm room into the actual sitting area, she noted the other three people here. One girl and two boys. The girl and one of the boys were intent on a chess board, while the other boy sat alone, a book open in his lap. Without giving them much attention, she sat down at her own table and took out her Daily Track. Scribbling down the notes of her day, she was almost blown backwards from the sudden, unexpected rush of power in the room.
Looking up, her eyes locked in on another boy who'd just come through the portrait hole.

Zee pondered the cold stone walls. This was certainly different than his room at home. He wasn't sure what he thought of the greenish lights. Like the walls, it was certainly different. Perhaps he'd grow to enjoy the sickly glow. Perhaps . . .
He brushed the hair back out of his eyes. Having to bend to get his tall frame through the portrait hole always caused his chaotic tresses to assault his face. It added nicely to his appearance of casual carelessness. One hand still atop his head holding back his dissident locks, he peered around the somewhat deserted common room. Not deserted, but he had expected there to be several dozen students in the room. The handful that were present seemed few and far between next to his imaginations image. He shrugged, trying to remain optimistic.
With so few it may be easier to get to know each more . . . personally.
His scanning eyes became suddenly stuck, sinking into deep wells of swirling grays, blues, and greens. He consciously blinked to break the momentary enchantment. This was unexpected. That one look hadn't revealed much to him of course, but it had told him enough. She was dangerous. Much like sitting on the edge of the astronomy tower, the idea of it enticed him almost irresistibly. He beamed in his charming, faux shy way and stepped casually over to her table. He sank into a seat opposite her sideways, one arm slung over the back of the chair, the other elbow resting on the table, his chin resting on the upturned palm. He gazed at her for a few more seconds.
Well well well . . . what are we going to do with you? Or rather, what aren't we going to do with you?
"This seat taken? No? Good. I was just thinking I may have been put in the wrong house. Good to see there is some reason for me to be here."

The boy had guts, she'd give him that much. Now that she was over the power he'd walked in with, she focused in on the evil he had tagging along inside of him. This one was certainly dark. He held promise. A slow, alluring smile crept onto Tawny's features and she leaned forward, matching the close, yet casual, stance of her partner in this dangerous tango.
You keep up that arrogant attitude, kid. Then I'll give you a reason for being here. Sucking lightly on her lower lip, she waited briefly before responding, instead drinking up the outward appearance. The too long hair, matched with a tall and lean body. A light, almost not-there tan that had crept onto his skin. Attractive. But not threatening in his looks as she was.
"Well, there'd been no doubt in my mind that I was in the right house. Of course, it's nice to know that my stay here won't be a total waste." There. She'd spoken. Her voice was a unique one, giving off the image of a beam of light in a dark room. Was the light a savior? Or a train pummeling toward you? That was up to interpretation.

Dangerous, yes. Dangerous and calculating, so doubly dangerous. She was difficult to read. Like the Ravenclaw prefect he'd met earlier, she was a machine. Of a different make and model certainly, but still they were both machines. Ah, but that's what drew him. Had he longed for easy pickings, there was a kitchen full of house elves not a hundred meters away. No, this was why he came to Hogwarts. Something new and exciting and, yes, dangerous. Beneath the undeniably tantalizing layer of flesh that sat before him lay cold steel. But beneath that . . .
Is there a heart in there somewhere little morsel? Buried deep in it's iron cage? How much pleasure, how much torment is needed before it will be drawn out?
His smile turned crooked, one corner of his lips relaxing even as the other drew slightly higher. She was teasing, and yet there may have been some sincerity. Difficult to read. He knew somehow (he'd known since before he sat down) that if he pressed forward, if he allowed himself to become involved in her world, the price would be high. Likely his life. And yet what was his life worth if he didn't enjoy it while he could? Yes, she would be the death of him, and he would embrace it with a smile.
"So sure are you? So which are you then? Ambitious? Cunning? Resourceful?"
His eyes ran up and down her frame once before he continued.
"Oh your blood is pure, there can be no doubt. And clearly you hold some ambition to desire my . . . conversation. Cunning and resourceful . . . I'm afraid time alone will reveal that."

Quin, who had been walking down the hall on her hands to the common room. Stopped before the door when she heard the murmer of conversation. She listened in for a moment, "Oh your blood is pure, there can be no doubt. And clearly you hold some ambition to desire my . . . conversation. Cunning and resourceful . . . I'm afraid time alone will reveal that." Huh, that was..interesting.. She thought, immensely curious, and said the password before preceding into the room. First she saw the boy and girl playing chess, and the other reading. She flitted over them, they obviously weren't the interesting subject in the room. Still walking on her hands, she came in and spotted to older kids, talking, in dangerous, investigating voices. Her pine martin, Heno, was balencing on the balls of her feet, quite the one girl circus. "I'd say..stuck up and sobbish, but hey, that's my opinion," She said innconantly, doing a back flip onto her feet, and alowing Heno to rest on her shoulder. Her dark, mischivious eyes flitted curiously over the pair, and she raised an eye brow.

Now the boy really had her interested. Dark and mischeivious was seen right off the bat. Perhaps not a killer, had been her first instict. But now... she could almost taste his bloodlust. The hunger within all beings that seeks simple carnal pleasure was strong inside of this Slytherin. She loved that, Tawny did. The hungry ones were always the most fun to play with. They needed the pain to live. And when they died, and the pain was gone, they were easily forgotten but not so easily shaken away.
His question would have made her chuckle if only she could remember such a thing. "Ambition is something one can feel. I can sense it on you as well. Cunning? Resourcefull? Why not experiment with me and find out? I'm sure we'd both enjoy the ride." Take her tone as you wanted, but she knew how to weave her words.
Those eyes left the intriguing man for only a moment to land on a girl with a pine martin. Unimportant, she decided. But she commited the face to memory. She never forgot a face. Turning back to her 'friend' she gave him a smile. Neither sweet nor cruel. Just raw.

Careful. She could unravel all you've begun. Yes, I know. I know, very tasty. Yes I'm aware, but think! You can't have it all! That was another of Riddle's mistakes. He wanted it all. Enjoy yourself yes, but don't be a fool. Caution.
Zee showed no change outwardly despite his thoughts growing more wary. This one may not react as poorly as the others at the school were they to see his true thoughts, but it still simply wouldn't do to let her have even a glimpse into his mind's deeper workings. The others would condemn him, she would likely find some manner to exploit him. Dangerous.
He tore his eyes from hers as he turned his head toward Quin. His expression showed a hint of exasperation, though he buried that under an amused smirk. What a fool this girl was, to toy so nonchalantly with that which could end her with the bat of an eyelash and wipe the memory of it away as not worth remembering.
My such honesty. Are you certain you belong here little girl? Perhaps they meant to place you in Hufflepuff upstairs. But no, at least of them is far above you as well. You were not wise in your decision to enter this room just now.
"Now that wasn't polite. My my, what hope is there if you seek so fervently to alienate your own house?"
Not waiting for a reply as he didn't expect any answer worth listening to, Zee's eyes found again those deep swirling pits. He kept his own eyes showing only amusement as he searched hers for . . . anything at all really.
"But I am experimenting with you my dear. Ambitious yes, and clever as well. You've just shown that. A shame that we have not a more controlled environment, if there is such a thing, to continue this experiment properly."

Quin looked at the pair, a small smirt playing on her face. Underneath it lay a frown. She enjoyed playing pranks, pushing others until they were so mad, they would hex her. She could see, even in the briefest flash of anger, what they were like, where their power lay, and, by when they ticked, what they were hiding. Bu these two..it was like her torments were nothing but a trick compared to their game that they played.
"Now that wasn't polite. My my, what hope is there if you seek so fervently to alienate your own house?"
Seeing this comment flash from his lips, so fast it was forgotten in the blink of any eye, that she raised a slight eyebrow. "For shame, I feel bitter already." She said imprudently, her head cocked, green eyes flickering.

"Your immaturity assaults my senses and makes me want to retch." Tawny spoke calmly, finally turning and paying something more than passing glances to the younger girl. She couldn't be more than a second year, but she had the look of inexcusable newb-hood that came with being in your first year. Such a disappointment for someone of the Slytherin house. Her dark, swirling eyes looked at the girl with a frown in them.
Do not test me child. My powers are something not to be toyed with. You know nothing as you think you do. I see the smugness. The superiority. Undeserved. Unearned. I suppose you think you've felt pain. You think you've earned the right to pick yourself up and stand on your feet, head held high. As if that was true... you're nothing more than a speck of dirt beneath my boots. Beneath his boots even! And you'll never be anything more with this behavior.
Her outer layer showed nothing of the thoughts in her head. Only those eyes, filled with simmering passion, conveyed anything close to what she was thinking. Though it was only a glimmer. They never did tell much. Only hinted.

Zee crossed one ankle over the other, leaning back in his chair and straightening his legs. His arms slid into each other, crossing over his chest as he observed the older girls reaction to the younger. Much as he may have been annoyed at Quin's interruption, he now found it perhaps worthwhile simply to watch this new creature seated across from him give a small hint of the wrath that he suspected boiled within her. Zee maintained his amused smirk as he watched the two ladies. He caught a glimpse of something in one of those fabulous eyes.
Oh dear. This does give us ideas. If we could learn to harness this passion, to direct it, oh the fun we could have. For others' destruction or our own enjoyment. Or for both.
He watched passively, both keenly observing his subjects for any valuable information that could be attained from their interaction, and also lost in his own thoughts of what he could use said information for.

Something in the other girls eyes made her heart thud for a second, and it skipped an involentary beat on its steady drum. But she lost none of her cocky look, her eyes were bright, but her face imprudent, casual. Raising an eye brow, she smiled, and Heno scurried to the top of her head, little claws digging in, and looking at the other girl, sharp, but small, fangs bared. Comfortingly, she put a hand on his back, and gave him a gentle stroke.
"Your looks assaults my senses and makes me want to retch." She said, her voice matching in calmness. She mined retching in her arms though, and stood up, pretending to wipe her mouth with a sick expression.

Immature and bad grammar as well? She tsked a little under her breath but turned back to Zee, growing bored rapidly with the little girl. "Then I suggest you stop staring, honey." Acid laced her tone and she didn't pay the "child" any mind after that. Instead, she smirked at the boy before her and sighed.
"You know, we should go somewhere more private. Perhaps you'd like to take a walk around the grounds? Not tonight of course... perhaps... Thursday?" That was three days away. Leave him wondering why she'd waited. Leave him wanting her. Made things so much more interesting.

Zee considered speaking up in defense of Tawny's looks, but held his tongue. She knew how she looked and he didn't want to be so predictable as to jump at any chance to earn favor with her. Not in such a trite fashion at least. He continued observing as the older girl lost interest, if she ever really had interest, in the younger. He turned his eyes to her as she spoke to him, but kept his face angled between the two rather than facing Tawny directly. He expression looked as though he were growing bored.
He shrugged noncommittally at her suggestion for Thursday night. Zee was quite accomplished at thinking one thing while giving every indication of his thoughts being something completely different. He would of course meet her when and where she desired, but she needn't know that.
"Thursday? I suppose that is an available time. Oh dear, it would be unfortunate if anything were to crop up though. I may have to reschedule. For the moment I can offer you a definite maybe."
He stood and grinned, tapping his forehead in a casual salute.
"And now I shall leave you ladies to discuss all the things you've been thinking about me but couldn't say in my presence."
He glanced from the door leading to the boys dormitory to the exit. He had completely forgotten why he had even come down to the Slytherin quarters. Shrugging to himself he strode to the door and slipped out without looking back.
