OOC: AAARGH i can't believe i missed it, but just so I can say I was involved here goes.
Alessandro walked into the Transfiguration classroom with blatant eagerness. He noticed a couple students sitting in the front row, Susan, D'rorah, and Dylan. He joined them sitting next to Susan, greeting her and his fellow Ravenclaws with vigor for the day. He pulled out his book, notes and quill, and set his wand on his desk on top of his notes. Once all of the students had arrived into the class, Professor Spencer began.
She had instructed them to turn to page 25 of their transfiguration books. He watched mystified as she proceeded to draw out the diagram from their books on the chalkboard. He watched as she demonstrated the twirl, jab, and flick, tuning her gravy boat into a bird, then changing the color from the metallic luster of the gravy boat to a light pink hue. Alessandro smiled with excitement as he grabbed his wand and mentally prepared himself to transfigure his own gravy boat.
He held off for a moment to see how some of the other students would do. The fruits of Gat Soldier yielded a dead, red fish. Alessandro didnt know whether to laugh of be frightened at how far off he had strayed from the target animal. He looked over to his right and noticed Susan had successfully transfigured her gravyboat into a yellow, gravy boat shaped bird. She seemed pleased as she held her bird and stroked it affectionately.
Alessandro turned to his gravy boat. He gave his wand a small twirl, jabbed, and flicked it at the gravy boat in one fluid motion while concentrating hard on the desired effect. He managed to block out the world around him.
The gravy boat expanded a little and began to churn and twist forming wings. The base separated itself into two and thinned out forming the legs and claws. The pouring part of the gravy boat transformed into the head and beak of the bird. Finally Alessandro was staring at a metallic raven in front of him. He waved his wand in a circle around the bird and murmured "Black" and instantly the bird's hue darkened to a midnight black.
He smiled at his accomplishment and felt it was very well done. All those extra hours he spent studying and practicing his transfiguration outside of class had proved fruitful for him. This was one of the few subjects he excelled in.
Soon the class was over and the professor dispelled all the magic that the class had wrought, causing their birds to vanish. With instructions for their homework in his mind, Alessandro gathered his things quickly and left the classroom already formulating the first few sentences in his head for the assignment.
