(ooc: we're coming from here- ragedsyphers.proboards100.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=3broomsticks&thread=1198930224&page=1)Susan ignored the stares and whispers of the passersby as she directed the frozen girl in the direction of the castle. Several times, Susan accidentally caught the eyes of the Slytherin. She was simply fuming. It wasn't as if, Susan hadn't warned her. It was her own fault, that she was in this situation. Susan was almost positive, that if not her, some other gallant student would have happened along as she did. As Susan began the long walk from Hogsmeade to the Castle, she became accustomed to the weight of the body she was carrying. She hated to think what was going through the girl's mind right now. Was she curing Susan? Or perhaps herself? Susan didn't often go around making enemies. Today had been an unlucky day. Susan suspected that this wasn't the Slytherin's day either. The walk to the castle was terribly quiet. Susan didn't bother with a single word for the girl in her charge. It didn't take long before the two of them were on the threshold of the castle. With the Headmistress's office the destination, Susan wasted no time and headed straight there. The stairs were the worst, but soon they were upon the sixth floor. Susan stopped in front of the gargoyle that was rumored to hold the entrance to the Headmistress' office. She stopped. It was now that she realized that she didn't have the password. Susan nervously glanced down the halls, for a teacher or even the Headmistress herself. She made a point to avoid the Slytherin's face. It wouldn't do for her to see her with doubt.

((Mind if I jump in?))
It wasn’t every day that Keaira walked the halls thinking about what was to come. Things were still strange being bonded with Zane, after losing Dien. It hurt Keaira to think about the way she could not help Dien, as she watched the scythe crossed his chest, as the blood poured down Teresa’s body. The images never faded; over and over again they came when she was the least prepared for them. How was she ever supposed to get them out of her head? How was she ever going to have a normal life? Could any part of her life ever be considered normal after all she had been through?
Thinking had begun to take up more of her time lately. Trying to put the past behind her, getting over Dien, and Wysteria’s deaths. Losing close friends during school was not something a 16 year old girl should have to worry about. And yet she did, ever day. She walked slowly headed for the one place she knew she could think the towers. The open air, the solitude there was nothing that was bad about the astronomy tower. As she turned the corner for the sixth floor, however, Keaira saw a sight that she would normally be quite worried about. There was a student being hovered in the air, quite difficulty it seemed, by another. As a prefect Keaira knew she couldn’t let the pair continue with out finding out what was up, besides that there was always the thought of a distraction.
“Hey, what's going on here?” She called out as she quickened her pace to intercept the pair. When she saw it was Susan the stern face she held as she called out to them melted away, and was replaced with a look of curiosity. Surely Susan, one of the light fighters, would not have attacked another student. It made no sense, so Keaira knew they would be an entertaining answer. Quickly closing the gap between them Keaira noticed where they were standing, and nodded.
“Is there a reason you need to see the headmistress Miss Matthews?” Keaira’s eyes drifted down to the face of the younger girl being levitated. She saw the same disdainful expression that she recognized on many of her house mates. Arrogance seemed to leak from her pores, like so many Keaira had seen. A trait that Keaira couldn’t help but feel was about as desirable as juicing flobber worms by hand.

(ooc: it's alright viv, i know it's kind of hard to come up with posts for when your frozen and floating in the air lol . . .)
Susan turned to see another student make their way down the sixth floor. Susan looked nervously down the hall, trying to see who it was. Depending on who it was, this could prove to be a very interesting situation. Susan let out a deep breath as the girl came closer. She was relieved to see it was Keaira that approached her. It was nice to come along someone who was indefinitely on her side. Especially when she had someone so susceptible to the Mage in her hands.
"I caught her at the Three Broomsticks," Susan explained to the one Slytherin she knew she could trust, "She injured a young girl with a sectumsempra curse." Susan shot a horrible look to the unnamed floating girl. "I had to do something," Susan told Keaira with a face that implied that if this girl was good, she wouldn't be for long.
"I figured if Headmistress LaPointe would hear the story," Susan returned her gaze to the large gargoyle, "Then she could be properly punished." Susan shifted her weight to better hold on to her floating prisoner. She considered setting her down, but didn't want to hurt her. Instead she looked back to Keaira again. "You wouldn't happen to know the password, would you?" Susan looked desperately to Keaira, hoping that she wouldn't mind helping her out if she could.

Keaira looked from Susan to the student that hovered behind her. Stepping closer to the floating girl, Keaira pulled out her wand and used it to push the girl’s hair out of her face. Keaira’s eyes drifted over the girls features. Her hazel eyes, long brown hair, and the shiny snakes that adorned various parts of her body, all pointed to one Slytherin she knew.
“Miss Victoire… Didn’t we have a little chat last time one of your practice sessions involved another student? I believe that one landed you with a week of detentions with Professor Sparrow. It must have been so very enjoyable, draining the flobber worms. How long did it take for your hands to return to normal size? Two days…Three? I imagine you weren’t such a princess when it hurt to take notes. Hummm what shall we do with you this time. Using sectumsempra on another student, you know those wounds take a dreadfully long time to heal. But how long will they take, that’s a good question, maybe it will decide how long you will be punished.”
Keaira looked down in to the girls’ eyes, she would be so easy to read, the control Vivian had over her own thoughts was excruciatingly weak. It made Keaira wonder why the girl even tried to be such a trouble maker. Any lie she told would probably be seen through, at least, by Keaira. It was so easy to see the way Keaira’s words affected her. Such arrogance, such weakness. Keaira shook her head and turned back to Susan.
“I’m glad you were there, did the other girl get medical treatment immediately?” As Keaira waited for the response to the simple question she turned towards the door, looking at the statue of the griffin that guarded the headmistresses office. “I do hope that she is not busy. Cookies, and cream.” As the last two words left Keaira’s mouth the griffin sprung to life, revealing the stair case that would lead to the door of the headmistress’s office. Turning around to see both the girls, Keaira smiled. “Shall we then?”
As she looked at Susan, Keaira thought a very clear message, knowing that Susan would be the only one to hear it. “You cannot trust the headmistress, so don’t say, or think anything about the light fighters. Also don’t eat or drink. It might have been better to take her to a teacher, however, we are here, and it would look bad to turn away now. Let’s just hope that we don’t end up seeing Vivian on the opposite side of the war after this.”

As Susan remembered the fact that Keaira was Slytherin Prefect, her confidence grew. It also seemed to help that Kearia new the troublesome girl. Now, they had a name in their favor. Miss Victoire. Susan jumped at the question on the victim, "I sent them to the Healer at Hogwarts, but there were adults that were there to help until she can be taken to the castle."
Susan watched enviously as Keaira supplied the password causing the gargoyle to immediately show the way. Such an obscure password, Susan thought, there was no way she could have let herself into the office. With the passageway revealed, Susan began to maneuver her capture up the stairs. It was Keaira's piercing glance that stopped her.
Suddenly, thoughts that were obviously not her own, were pushed into her mind. A warning about the headmistress was issued. She was surprised to hear this, and wondered gently why she was possibly the last to know. Though these knew rules were given, Susan managed to keep a straight face, as if nothing had been exchanged between the two. Susan was unfamiliar with how to respond in a similar fashion, so she simply nodded discreetly to show that she'd gotten the message, and proceeded up the stairs with Miss Victoire.

Caira looked up as she heard the sound of the door guarding the staircase open. She figured it had to be either a prefect or a teacher, considering they were the only ones who would have the password. She stood from her desk and brandished her wand, causing the door to her study to open. One could never be too careful about keeping one's wand on hand during such an unexpected visit, but as always, she had her customary warm smile on her face, sure that any other appearance might give her students reason to think she had something to hide. She did of course, but that all the more reason not to give anyone that impression.
"What is this?" asked Caira. "Slytherin and Gryffindor students working together? My, things have changed in the past few years, haven't they?" She looked from Keaira to Susan before allowing her eyes to fall upon the child being escorted between them. "And you might be..." she trailed off as she searched her memory. "Oh yes, Vivian, right? Well, what brings the three of you here this afternoon? From your escort Vivian, I'd say you've landed yourself in a bit of trouble."

"I caught her at the Three Broomsticks," the girl explained to the Slytherin. "She injured a young girl with a sectumsempra curse,” she said, shooting a horrible look to the unnamed floating girl. "I had to do something," Susan told the Slytherin, a purposeful look on her face. "I figured if Headmistress LaPointe would hear the story," Susan returned her gaze to the large gargoyle, "Then she could be properly punished."
Vivian would roll her eyes, and perhaps aim a few curses at the annoying girl if only she were not frozen in such an awkward position, making her muscles ache horribly. this, she reminded herself, was all the Gryffindor’s fault. She would SO get her for it when all this was over.
Footsteps drew closer to Vivian, casting a shadow over her as the Slytherin crossed over for a better look at her. Vivian felt a sharp jab of wand as the girl lifted Vivian’s hair away from her face. But how long will they take, that’s a good question, maybe it will decide how long you will be punished.” Vivian’s eyes were full of malice as she glared at the older Slytherin girl. Up close, she could tell that that was exactly the same infuriating Slytherin Prefect that landed her in detention, the most horrible experience she’d had in her life. The disgusting flobberworms were slimy and grotesque.
Vivian continued glaring at the two older girls. She was not at all afraid of the punishments she could be getting. Their threats were of only the slightest concern to her. “I’m glad you were there, did the other girl get medical treatment immediately?” the other Slytherin spoke to the Gryffindor girl. Vivian contented herself with thinking of horrible curses she thought of herself that she could cast on the pair of them soon as her wand was returned.
Hanging mid air like some awkward statue, Vivian found herself being manoeuvred up the stairs parted by the stone gargoyles at the words “cookies, and cream.” Moments later, all she could see was the huge door that stood between the three students and the headmistress.
As the door flew open, Vivian saw a smile spread over the headmistress’s face. She could tell, though that the headmistress was not all that sincere about her smile. It was exactly the type of smile Vivian would have given to hide her secrets.
Vivian could not care less about the “trouble” she was in. Not a day had gone past in her last fourteen years without her getting into trouble. If only Miss Matthews had let her free, she could have come up with yet another series of retorts for the trio staring down upon her.

After ascending the stairs to the headmistresses’ office Keaira gave Susan and Vivian one last look, before reaching up to knock on the door. Just before her hand touched the wood of the door Keaira found that the door was being opened. She put a quick smile on her face, as the headmistress swung in to view. Although Keaira couldn’t trust the headmistress, she still thought it to be in her best interests to continue to report to her as a prefect. Otherwise too many questions would need answering, and with life as it was now, more complications meant more danger
Her polite smile in place as she stepped through the doorway and in to the headmistresses’ office, she wasn’t as prepared as she normally would have been had she known a meeting with the headmistress was scheduled. She lacked the protection from vertiseurm, so she would not be drinking tea with the headmistress today. Her mind as well was not a prepared as she would like it to be, but she would still try her best to keep it clear of important thoughts. Keaira’s smile broadened as she listened to the comments that Lapointe had made. Ironic as it might seem, Keaira lacked the typical predejustices that most of her class mates had acquired. Whether it just be that she was raised better, or that she had simply acquired it though the past 5 years, she found that she had a rather distaste for several of her own house mates.
“Surely, headmistress, you’ve noticed that I have a certain flair for enjoying the company of the other houses. However, this was not a joint venture, I only just ran in to Miss Matthews standing outside your door, looking around, while I was on my way to the owlery. Once she explained the situation, I felt it my duty to gain a meeting with you, if you were available, to discuss Miss Victoire’s actions. Since her previous actions were handled by Pro-, Mister Cage, and he is no longer with us, I felt that Miss Matthews desire to seek your attention was well placed. However, since I was just her means to seek your audience I shall let Miss Matthews tell you the reason why Vivian is being treated in this manner.”
Keaira couldn't help but let Alessandro's face swim to the front of her mind. She missed his company so much, and had planned on writting him sooner. There was no doubt that the headmistress, with all her spies, would know that Keaira was involved with Alessandro. Their relationship had been seen publically displayed on several occassions, so when Keaira thought of him, she did so in a wholy romantic fashion, wishing that he was at the school, and that she could see him again.
With her own words out of the way Keaira stepped back, and nodded to Susan. This was, after all, her catch, and thusly so, she would have to tell the tale. Thinking of how Gat Solider was punished, or lack thereof, Keaira was curious as to how the headmistress would handle this. The situation was similar, except Gat had not even hit his target while Vivian had. As the prefect of Vivian’s house Keaira felt that she should stay to see what the girls punishment might be, and escort her to another location if needed.

Susan was grateful for Keaira's presence as the three of them entered the headmistress' office. Susan did her best to surreptitiously look around the office to learn as much as she could from the headmistress. Not much could be accounted for. There weren't many personal items, Susan noticed.
She let Keaira do the talking at first. Susan let Miss Victoire bob gently in the air, pondering what would happen if she needed to be sick. She resisted the urge to laugh as an image of Vivian with a face as green as green as her robes formed in her mind. She stopped the light bobbing, and forced herself to return to a neutral facial expression.
She took Keaira's introduction, "Thank you Miss O'Connell," Susan nodded back to Keaira. With a deep breath, Susan turned to face the headmistress again, and to begin her impression of what went down in the Three Broomsticks.
"Headmistress," Susan began confidently, "I was in the Three Broomsticks today, when Miss Victoire, here," Susan took this time to gesture to the girl at the end of her wand, "barged into the pub. After being extremely rude to everyone in her path, when she assumed no one was looking, cast a sectumsempra curse on a young girl. She inflicted great pain on the young girl, who will mostly likely be scarred for life." Another image of Dylan swam before her eyes as she had to force herself to return to the subject at hand.
"Because she would not cooperate," Susan began again, "I was forced to take matters into my own hands in order to direct Miss Victoire to your presence now." Susan gently bobbed Vivian once more for effect before finally releasing her of the body bind charm.
Reaching to her back pocket, Susan retrieved Vivian's wand and held it out to the headmistress. "Here is her wand, I confiscated it back at the Three Broomsticks." She shot a look at Vivian, "If you have any doubt in my story, I'm sure you may use Prior Incantato to see that she did in fact produce the spell." Susan smiled sweetly, satisfied that this spit of a girl would now pay the consequences for she had done.

Caira nodded, still smiling. "Yes, I've noticed that tendency," she agreed. "So, now you all have me standing here, I suppose all that's left is to have it with what she's done." She was just about to invite them all inside, to come further in out of the hallway when Susan began to explain what had happened. She listened, her normal smile being slowly replaced by a frown and a look of extreme revulsion. She hadn't yet regained a mind for words as Susan handed her Vivian's wand. Her eyes gazed at the wand for a long moment and then shifted to Vivian.
"Is this true?" she finally asked incredulously. "Young lady, I've already had reports of one student using this sort of hideous magic in my school and I simply won't tolerate it!" There was no trace of the warm smile she usually wore now, everything about her spoke of stern disappointment. She brandished Vivian's wand. "Priori Incantatem."
She watched as the hideous scene played out before her eyes. Such malice, wasted... and this foolish girl doing her damndest to be expelled from school. "This other girl is hurt, but she's been tended to, right? Someone's already helped her to a mediwitch?" She turned her gaze back to Vivian. "A fourth year student! Wantonly casting dark curses at someone for absolutely no reason! As I said, I've already 'ad one student in 'ere for zees... his spell meessed and yet 'e was still punished very severely. Magic like zis, you should be expelled... zis is the sort of nonsense I would expect to 'ear of from Durmstrang, not 'Ogwarts." As she became angrier, her voice didn't rise in tone, but her French accent did begin to creep into her voice much more strongly than usual. "What do you 'ave to zay for yourself?"
She'd have to expel Vivian, there was really no way around that. But... once she was away from Hogwarts, she could be put to use... though Caira would have to make sure she was taught some discretion before she actually trusted her to do anything of any importance.

Vivian felt herself being bobbed up and down gently, but noticeably. Her eyes darted up to Miss Matthew’s face, and noticed with malice that she was trying to keep herself from laughing and felt the urge to swear at her. It was evident that interfering Miss Matthews was doing that on purpose.
"Thank you Miss O'Connell," Susan nodded back to the Prefect. "Headmistress," Susan began confidently, "I was in the Three Broomsticks today, when Miss Victoire, here, barged into the pub. After being extremely rude to everyone in her path, when she assumed no one was looking, cast a sectumsempra curse on a young girl. Susan gently bobbed Vivian once more for effect before finally releasing her of the body bind charm.
Vivian rolled her eyes and mined vomiting, massaging her aching limbs. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Miss Matthews reaching to her back pocket to retrieve Vivian's wand. "Here is her wand, I confiscated it back at the Three Broomsticks." She shot a look at Vivian, "If you have any doubt in my story, I'm sure you may use Prior Incantato to see that she did in fact produce the spell."Vivian eyed her wand with a look of longing in her eyes.
"Is this true?" the headmistress finally asked incredulously. "Young lady, I've already had reports of one student using this sort of hideous magic in my school and I simply won't tolerate it!" She brandished Vivian's wand. "Priori Incantatem."
Vivian watched, too, as the scene played out before their eyes. A satisfied smile danced across her lips at the effect it had on the headmistress. "A fourth year student! Wantonly casting dark curses at someone for absolutely no reason! As I said, I've already 'ad one student in 'ere for zees... his spell meessed and yet 'e was still punished very severely. As she became angrier, her voice didn't rise in tone, but her French accent did begin to creep into her voice much more strongly than usual. "What do you 'ave to zay for yourself?" Vivian shrugged. She did not give a crap about school. She was only here because her parents had made her to. “Its just spell practising” she said, indifferent. “Just as what I told our dear Miss Matthews here” she added, sarcastically. Glancing over to where Susan stood, hatred glinting in her eyes.

Caira glared at the impertinent little wretch. No, this one wouldn't do for service to the Mage at all. She had absolutely no respect for authority. Dark Phoenix would torture her and feed her to the Shadows as soon as she opened her mouth. And obviously, she couldn't stay here at Hogwarts and present a danger to the other students. The Mage needed Caira in this position... if parents started to think students weren't safe here, or that she tolerated this sort of behavior when it put their children in danger... no, she'd likely be fired or they Ministry would close the school. It was hard enough to downplay the reports of students venturing into the forest and being attacked by Shadows. No, she'd had enough of a hard time backing the Ministry off. A thought suddenly came to mind and she regained a bright smile again.
"Well, this isn't the sort of practice we allow at or around Hogwarts," she said, her voice again calm and composed. Her accent had dwindled back to its level of bare detection, just enough to had a hint of the exotic to her voice. "As you must be well aware, the Ministry has really cracked down on Dark Magic... ever since Harry Potter and Ron Weasley became Aurors, they've really shaped things up. And, you'd be interested to know that curses like sectumsempra are now considered offenses punishable by time in Azkaban... especially when they end up actually hitting their intended victims." She pursed her lips slightly. "You might be young, but anyone old enough to know such advanced dark magic is old enough to be punished for it. I'll have to contact the Auror's office to see what they recommend. They'll send someone to take you into custody and then you'll be able to contact your parents." She paused for a moment. "And of course it goes without saying that you're expelled from Hogwarts, Vivian."

She seemed to consider her thoughts for a while, before finally saying "Well, this isn't the sort of practice we allow at or around Hogwarts," she said, her voice again calm and composed. Her accent had dwindled back to its level of bare detection, just enough to had a hint of the exotic to her voice. "As you must be well aware, the Ministry has really cracked down on Dark Magic... ever since Harry Potter and Ron Weasley became Aurors, they've really shaped things up. "And of course it goes without saying that you're expelled from Hogwarts, Vivian."
It took a moment for the words to sink in. Though they did not come as a shock to Vivian, she was not going to let herself be so easily taunted or ordered around by people, as least not people she respected, and the headmistress was definitely not one of them.
In the commotion, Vivian had momentarily forgotten about her ability of using wandless magic. Eyeing her wand held in the Headmistress’s hand, she whispered “Accio”. Caught unawares, the wand flew from the headmistress’s grip into Vivian’s palm. It was great, the feeling of holding her wand in her hands again. Maintaining a firm grip on the wand, she traced the sycamore snake carved into the wand with her painted nail.
After a few moment’s silence, she finally looked up. Her eyes met the headmistress’s. “Well… I’m sorry. I know I should not have done that. It applies to both casting the spell and being rude to you.” Vivian could not believe the words that escaped her lips. She had never apologised to anyone before, not in her entire fourteen years. And especially not in front of three people. She just hoped that her attempt to keep herself a space in school would go unnoticed.
((i'm sorry its not very good. i'm tired out from school))

Keaira had watched from the sidelines as the headmistresses expression fell from the cheery one that she had become familiar with, to the entirely foreign look of disgust that Keaira had only witnessed on one or two previous occasions. It made Keaira slightly sick, and quite angry to think that the small girl in front of her was capable of casting a spell like that and have little to no remorse for the girl she probably scarred for life.
The rage at the girl that was building up with in Keaira subsided a little when she heard the headmistress slip in to her French accent. Caira must have been far more enraged than Keaira had given her credit for. To see the headmistress lose her composure like that had been something Keaira had never dreamed she would witness. Some part of her was severely outraged at the girls’ actions. Maybe part of her had felt the other girl did not deserve such treatment. But then again, she was working for the destruction of the world. As Keaira heard Vivian’s attempt at defending her actions Keaira couldn’t help but let her jaw drop slightly. It took almost all of her will power to resist the urge to step forward and simply whack the girl upside her head. Spell practicing??!! That kind of practicing could lead to some one dying. It was a wonder that this girl had managed to get herself this far in life without being punished severely.
It was only through sheer will power that a smile was kept from Keaira face as the headmistress told Vivian she would be expelled from the school. Keaira found herself agreeing with the headmistress, if only ever so slightly, that such action needed to be dealt with properly. After all, the students were in enough danger from outside forces as it was. They shouldn’t have to worry about some stupid girl with a wand who thinks she is evolutions greatest achievement.
Keaira’s stance tightened considerably as she heard the whispered sound of a summoning spell. She wasn’t aware that Vivian could perform magic without a wand, but as she watched Vivian’s wand slip from the headmistresses grasp she became keenly aware of it. Keaira watched as the girl toyed with the snake that curved down her wands handle, waiting to see if the girl was going to attempt to fight the three of them, and then run for it. It seemed a foolish course of action for any one, but if it came down to it, Keaira knew several spells that would disable the younger girl. With her wand ready, but not held threateningly, Keaira shifted her attention to the headmistress momentarily, wondering what she intended to do about the girl.
