D'rorah frowned a bit as she realized that Kang didn't know what Master Xiu's remark meant either. It irked her not to know something that affected her area. It pricked at the back of her mind that it somehow involved Kang, yet he didn't know either. [blue]"I do hope he tells one of us soon,"[/blue] she remarked. [blue]"Otherwise the mystery may well drive me to distraction."[/blue]
As he asked about the Bryce brothers, she nodded. [blue]"I assume they will have returned to their quarters,"[/blue] she replied. [blue]"The middle brother, Nicholas, seemed particularly tired... or at least, particularly unwilling to leave his bed for dinner,"[/blue] she concluded. [blue]"They will need to be given a tour and settled in, but I suppose that should wait for tomorrow."[/blue]
Making her way down the corridor, she stopped and knocked at the door to the brothers' quarters. Hopefully, they would have found their way back; otherwise, she would have to go off on a search for them. And that was not a prospect she wished to entertain. They seemed to have enough difficulty mustering faith in adults. She rather hoped that having left the dining hall wouldn't be seen as "abandoning" them. After all, she was returning straightaway to check on them. She smirked, Nick would likely be quite pleased to think they'd managed to get rid of her. If he answered the door, he was likely to be rather frustrated. Ah well, any moment now and she would see.

Once dinner was finished, the Bryce brothers were not exactly sure what to do. The jet lag was getting to all of them – especially Shane, who was practically falling asleep on Tommy's shoulder before he had even finished his food. As others started leaving, Tommy glanced about to see if anyone was going to show them the way back while Nick carefully brought Shane back to the waking world and helped him climb back down from the bench. He had taken a quick glance about and decided to take the initiative and head back on their own – so used to being independent, he didn't really think they needed anyone else. Surely between the three of them they could find their way back.
Despite this, a monk was dispatched by Master Xiu just before he left who came over and spoke in halting English, leading the way out of the hall. [green]"We could have found the way by ourselves,"[/green] whispered Nick to Tommy, loud enough for the monk to hear and receiving an elbow in the ribs for his efforts.
After leading them to their room, the monk left them to it. It wasn't long before the knock at the door sounded and Nick sighed wearily with a mutter of 'can't these people leave us alone' before rising, leaving the game of cards they had begun to answer the door. He looked up at D'rorah and the other man, not phased at all by their height compared to him. [green]"Did you want something?"[/green] he asked bluntly, just as a call from Shane came from inside the room. [yellow]"Nick, it's your go!"[/yellow]

D'rorah arched an eyebrow at Nick's question. [blue]"I simply wished to ensure that you and your brothers were able to find your ways to your quarters this evening... and ask to see if there is anything else you need for the night,"[/blue] she added. [blue]"I understand we were unable to have you bring anything with us, so tomorrow we can buy clothes for the three of you and see to any other things you might need."[/blue]
She glanced into the room, smiling slightly at Shane and Tommy. [blue]"Is there anything any of you need for tonight? Or anything special you would like to ensure we find for tomorrow? I know it must be rather jarring to suddenly be half a world away, but I would like to make the transition as comfortable as possible,"[/blue] she offered hopefully. Knowing she couldn't have children of her own even though she had wanted a family, she supposed this was some sort of strange nurturing instinct kicking in. It felt odd to the normally rather emotionless girl. Something told her Kang would be teasing her about it endlessly later.

[green]"Yeah yeah, we're fine. Some monk showed us the way – although we would have found the way ourselves!"[/green] he was quick to assure her. Tommy smiled shyly and Shane waved as D'rorah glanced into the room, all signs of tiredness gone due to the card game of Trumps before them. [yellow]"Nick come on, it's your go!"[/yellow] Nick turned his back on D'rorah and dropped to one knee to survey his own cards and the cards on the floor before placing one down with a triumphant grin and then picking up the rest of the cards. Shane sighed. [yellow]"Why do you always get the best cards? It's not fair!"[/yellow] he objected.
Nick grinned in response, then turned his head back to the door at D'rorah's question. [green]"No, we're fine, you can go,"[/green] he told her bluntly. [red]"You don't need to get us anything, if I can just get my stuff from Hogwarts we can all share that,"[/red] Tommy added quickly. [red]"Could you take me there tomorrow so I can get it all?"[/red] he asked with a tentative smile.

D'rorah smiled back a bit more as Tommy smiled a bit and Shane waved at her. At least there were two of the brothers who seemed to appreciate her involvement. She looked over the game they were playing as she stood there, smirking as they all seemed wide awake now.
D'rorah frowned at Nick's response. [blue]"Young man, I have been an integral part of this Order since before you were born. Do not deign to dismiss me as though I were your scullery maid,"[/blue] she said in a voice that was quiet, but no less authoritative. She looked to Tommy, her tone of voice lightening significantly and smiling slightly. [blue]"As far as your things from Hogwarts, I have made arrangements to have them brought here,"[/blue] she replied. [blue]"But I do not believe there will be enough for all three of you to have clothing as well as essentials for classes here,"[/blue] she added.
She stepped a bit more into the room, looking towards the beds to make sure there were enough blankets and pillows for everyone. [blue]"Try to go to bed soon,[/blue] she warned them. [blue]"Wake up call for first meditation is very early, and I would like for all of you to attend."[/blue]

Nick rolled his eyes even before D'rorah had finished speaking, not bothering to hide his disdain from her. [green]"Well you haven't been in our lives before I was born, so that doesn't mean you can order us around,"[/green] he replied stubbornly, earning him another elbow in the ribs and a whisper to behave from Tommy that didn't put him off. [green]"We don't need you here so you might as well go, whether you're a maid or not."[/green]
[red]"Nick!"[/red] Tommy hissed. [red]"She's helping us, be nice!"[/red] The smile on Shane's face had fallen and his arms were now wrapped around his knees, watching his brothers warily as if worried one might strike out at the other – and occasionally glancing up to D'rorah in case she tried to intervene. [red]"Really, we'll be fine. Nick and Shane always have my old clothes anyway,"[/red] Tommy tried to assure D'rorah again."[/red]
Nick, whose attention had turned back to the cards in his hands, turned his attention back to D'rorah at her last words. [green]"Meditation? Are you serious?"[/green] he demanded. [green]"We don't need any meditation. We need sleep. Jetlag, remember? We're not used to this timezone. Which is why we're still awake now and still will be for several hours,"[/green] he told her stubbornly.

D'rorah arched a brow as Nick rolled his eyes at her. [blue]"I was not ordering you around,"[/blue] she replied. [blue]"As I recall, it was you who attempted to order me... unsuccessfully, I might add,"[/blue] she finished, turning her attention to Tommy and Shane.
It saddened her to see Shane sitting there, holding his knees to his chest. She looked back to Tommy and sighed as he again rejected her help with clothes. [blue]"Very well... your things from Hogwarts will most likely be here in the morning,"[/blue] she replied. She would still need to get school supplies and textbooks for all of them... that part she wasn't going to bother mentioning or debating. She would pass along the things they needed... whatever the three brothers did with the new things at that point would be up to them. In particular, she was going to see that all three of them had new shoes and at least a few new sets of clothes.
D'rorah didn't react to Nick's outburst, choosing to ignore him and instead deal with the more reasonable of the two siblings. When she spoke, she looked to Tommy. [blue]"It will help you all to become accustomed to the time change if you wake and attempt to begin following the new schedule here,"[/blue] she told him. [blue]"Do your best to be in bed at a reasonable hour. Tomorrow I will know what classes the three of you will have been assigned and we will orient you to the layout of the monastery a bit better. In the meantime, if any of you need anything, my quarters are down the corridor and then around the corner to the left. It is the door at the far end... and the only black door, so it should stand out from the others,"[/blue] she added.
She offered each of them a smile. [blue]"Pleasant dreams,"[/blue] she bid before turning and heading out, closing the door quietly behind herself. She looked to Kang as they began the walk back to her rooms.
[blue]"That went well,"[/blue] she remarked rather sarcastically. [blue]"The middle brother seems particularly confrontational, does he not?"[/blue] She shook her head. [blue]"I hope they settle in well."[/blue]
